I absolutely cannot wait for this young lady to go on tour in some manner. I do not want her to do the typical tour of only being in a city for one or two days and then traveling on. I really like that you have enough insight into Courtney as a performer to realize in advance that she is not going to deliver a cover that merely mimics the original but rather, she is going to take the song and make it her own. There is no one in current music that can bring the same level of intensity and passion that Courtney can bring to a performance. When she sings, you feel every bit of emotion she conveys deep into your soul. I have to disagree with you on one thing. Yes, Courtney can rock with the best of them and she truly seems happiest when she is doing so. She has said that this was her favorite of the four covers she recently released. However, I think Courtney is equally talented when she is singing other types of music as well. IMO, she is the rare performer who can cross genres with ease and without any loss in the quality of the music. To demonstrate, I suggest you react to her recent cover of 'Someone You Loved'. This song is a much lower key, emotional song and, while Courtney's version is different, you can feel every bit of the emotion in Courtney's voice and also see clearly how beautiful of a voice Courtney truly has. To get the full picture, anyone would really have to listen to all four of her recent covers on her Vevo channel. Each song was specifically chosen by Courtney to highlight a different aspect of her voice. As a result, all of the covers are different and unique in their own way. It is only by hearing each of them that you can fully appreciate what a versatile and dynamic performer Courtney is. In an article after this cover release, she indicated it was her idea to sing it this way - That shows INCREDIBLE originality and artistry. BTW, the guy sitting on the "box" and playing it is actually playing a percussion instrument called a "cajon" (spanish word for a wood crate or box). He is using his right hand in the middle of the cajon for the bass drum sound and the left hand on the top edge to get the higher pitched snare drum sound. This instrument is great for small settings or acoustic setting where a regular drum kit is too much. I play drums and I have played a cajon before also. In Courtney's other Vevo videos this guy plays keyboards. The other videos are awesome too, two of them showing her softer side with still some edge to them. I like your review.Her singing rocks. I like the guitar, too. Her voice and the guitar add blast to the song. I like it a lot. I like hard rock a lot; I also like some blues. The thing the guy is drumming on is a cajon. It is sort of a "poor man's" drum set, as you can hot bass drum and snare sounds out of the cajon (it's also a lot easier to carry than a drum set). There are even bass drum pedals and snares available on certain canons. With its name, I expect it was probably ivented in the Mississippi Delta.
i hated that song and a lot of people did too, but I am hearing that people who have heard Courtney Hadwin's version love for the R&B sound she brought to it that made the probably what it was suppose to sound like. I like your review.Her singing rocks. I like the guitar, too. Her voice and the guitar add blast to the song. I like it a lot. I like hard rock a lot; I also like some blues. The thing the guy is drumming on is a cajon. It is sort of a "poor man's" drum set, as you can hot bass drum and snare sounds out of the cajon (it's also a lot easier to carry than a drum set). There are even bass drum pedals and snares available on certain canons. With its name, I expect it was probably ivented in the Mississippi Delta.

i hated that song and a lot of people did too, but I am hearing that people who have heard Courtney Hadwin's version love for the R&B sound she brought to it that made the probably what it was suppose to sound like. She is captivating w/her voice that she brings it down for you to just soak up passion in singing then bam, a right hand and a left, just punching you out with her range and emotion into the song, not just singing it... I don't care what people say about the Mic Drop, I've been in music nearly all my life and she deserved a mic drop on that one, and that's a bam in your face top that shit, because she knows she's got it... she's a different person when she sings and her alter ego is very confident and can sing with soul...
