    I stand by these tires. Excellent in the rain and amazed by the snow performance. ZR rated so you can track them too! Ultra Performance FTW

    Just had a set put on my Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate AWD to replace the OEM Continental's which wore out after 20,000 mi. Any way I have staggered fit (245/45 19 F and 275/40 19 R) so no rotation possible (just left-right). A day after I got the tires we had a rain of biblical proportions and these tires performed fantastically. No slip or hydroplaning at all. Now I don't have a BOSS 302 but the 5.0 L V8 does put out 420 HP so it's no slug. Long story short - these are fantastic tires.

    Just picked up a set of these tires for my Audi right before a huge snow storm here in Utah. For an all season tire, they are incredible! I'm sure the quattro AWD has a lot to do with it, but I noticed a huge difference from the Potenza tires that were on the car previously. The car was fun in deep snow, and didn't even notice when the roads became slushy.

      I just put the new plus version on my daily driver last week(08 Scion TC). I save an incredible amount of fuel funds not daily driving the superduty. Enough to pay for these tires, and many other items for it, no shit.
      I have brand new 35" Toyo RT's on the duty, and I swear to God, the Tc does better in snow. I drove it to 10k feet in the la sal mountains near Moab, and these definitely perform in the snow and ice. Very impressive for a performance tire. I won't tell ya it's a snow tire, but it's the perfect balance of everything, which is their sales pitch. I would say that's very accurate.

    If you are going with an all season tire and not using a dedicated snow tire, these are probably the best winter traction all season tire you can buy. If you are replacing run flats and getting a spare for your BMW, these are a great choice. Cost comparison to Michelin , Pirelli ,etc., not even close. Best bang for your buck.

      @@brainards11 the mods I have on my car? You have the same ones? I have a 2013 A7 Prestige fully loaded minus the B&O sound system. So far I have done APR stage 2+ ultracharger ecu tune, APR ultracharger, JHM test pipes, rear mufflers delete, JHM 207mm crank pulley, JHM heat exchanger, colder spark plugs, K&N high-flow performance air filter. Next on the list is to replace the APR Stage 2+ ultracharger ecu tune with the JHM stage 2 ECU + TCU tune for oversized throttle body, do some JHM catted & baffled downpipes and an awe touring exhaust the rest of the way down.

    After moving to Michigan and getting a summer set and blizzaks on steelies, I’m sold on having pure winter tires for winter. All seasons simply do not compare for winter.

  • @fike301
    @fike301 4 роки тому

    I run them 4 seasons on 18in 245/45/18 on RS Cruze LTZ....pros: grip wet, dry and good in snow with some common sense. Now the cons for me were the lack of wheel protection on the sides (Michelin has like a 3/4 wheel protector for curbing) also the sidewalls even with the newer version is somewhat soft with aggressive driving in dry or wet roads. Still in my top 5 tires actually 4 season tire

    Funny. Everyone thinks Canada is nothing but snow in late year. I’ve already had 18” or more in Michigan. I backed my boss outside with the pzeros and had to put cardboard under it to get it 10’ back inside. I still don’t think I’d do it in the snow. Driving isn’t the part id worry about. Bashing giant frozen chunks of ice that fell off other cars would be my concern. I’ve already drove over massive chunks that would surely destroy the front of the boss.

    I wanted the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus for my 2015 Audi A8, more focus on smooth quiet ride vs handling
    That's why I swapped out the 20" rims for 19"
    I know that the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus is quieter, rides better because of the softer sidewalls compared to
    The Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, the other tire I was considering, it handles better because of stiffer sidewall that causes vibration stiffer ride and road noise to get the handling
    My only concern is how long does it take on after for the S symbol to fade, making them summer tires, Then the W symbol fading away, making this a dry pavement tire
    Do you just throw them out?
    That's why I'm leaning toward the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, to avoid this
    Any thoughts anybody, or another tire in this category you would recommend

    Good tires, but they don't last very long, especially here in Arizona Phoenix... I basically got two years out of them maybe 18,000 miles.. I'm gonna try Yokohama's The problem is, this is the second pair of extreme contacts in less than five years that I've gone through. I thought the first set was just a fluke or something but they didn't last long at all.

    Thanks for the video. I'm wondering if anyone knows why on Tire Rack and places like that the XL rating is what is often showing up for my 19" 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca? An SL or light load is hard to find. Do high performance sports cars require XL for some reason? Or can you explain the difference? Thank you anyone who happens to know this!

    How much power are you making I’m making around 420hp and 500trq you think it would be a good winter tire for my SHO

    • @SeanMcGuigan
      @SeanMcGuigan  4 роки тому

      I think you will be good with that power level and these tires. The Boss stock makes 444hp and 390trq. I used these tires even after adding more power and they held up well.

    costco has these on sale, should i get these or the eagle f1? I currently have pilot sport a/s 3 and they were good for 4 years but they are horrendous in the snow.

    • @SeanMcGuigan
      @SeanMcGuigan  6 років тому

      I can't comment on the eagle F1 as I have not had them. I can say that the DWS 06 saw heavy snow fall and while it was not like the car drove as if it was an awd rally car, it did get me home while staying in control the whole time. I was happy with the results.

      Might be bad luck. I've had the DWS-06 on for 8 months over a New England winter, hitting tons of potholes with a lowered suspension. I even drove over a 10 mile closed dirt road in mud season to get to Sugarbush (bad directions), on a lowered Subaru with these tires. Bottoming out constantly but they would not pop. I am impressed in that regard!

      I've hit some monster Chicago potholes with these tires and they have taken the blows well. I will say that you gotta watch the PSI on these like a hawk. They can fluctuate more than some other tires Ive used in the past.

    Tires are pain in the ass to get balanced, and they cause tread pull. Car wandered like crazy. Also way too easy to flat spot, like literally after 1 day of not driving. Good grip but definitely does not deserve all the hype
