THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO IS WORKING SO HARD AROUND THE CLOCK TO HELP GET OUR WATER SYSTEM BACK ON TRACK TO NORMALITY . THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!!
How did this happen? I thought they couldn't run water through the treatment facility until the turbidity had been reduced below 2. If they can run 10-15 million gallons, why can't they run the full 20 million gallons? Is the water then mixed with lake water before it leaves the facility to make up the difference? I'd really love to understand how they are doing this and what the limitations of this new treatment modality are.
In response to the question about water in our taps clearing up, he said that a reduced volume of water has been put through the treatment plant. Can someone clarify, is the water that's being put into the treatment plant the highly turbid water from the NF Reservoir? I thought it was too silty to put through the facility without damaging / gunking up the system.
if you have both the curtain project and the corps of engineers project operational will the turbidity target be reduced down to desirable 0.3 vice the current target of 1.0-2.0 ntu?
Aluminum sulfate is fairly non-toxic, with acute and chronic oral LD50 both greater than 5,000mg/kg (5). However, alum can still cause irritation, burns, and respiratory issues. If inhaled, it may cause headaches, nausea, and respiratory irritations. Alum is not listed as a carcinogen by NTP, IARC, or OSHA
Ironically there is another salt in junk food, chicken nuggets and commercial puddings, that does the opposite of Alum, homogenizing blood. but what else does this junk food do? vaccines with pudding? Wish I could remember the name of this stuff. pyrophosphate maybe?
@@AmethystWoman I'm sorry you're confused. China has taken the lead globally in infrastructure development. The City of Asheville obviously needs help and the Corps of Engineers plan sounds tentative.

Thanks for the updates. I see this dept working hard on multiple options to make things happen.
Take your time. Just Do it right. Don't rush.

I’m wondering about that too. I hope they will explain.
If I understand correctly, they are bypassing the treatment process for a large amount of the water demand,
Thank you!!

Sounds like mid December or later before we have clean water. Our local shower and laundry facilities are packing up and leaving this weekend. So….
What is the target turbidity level?
2.0 max
If we get our water from the mills river area why do we still have to boil water?
Time for a well
Or a moving truck.
how is all the waste going to be removed from the reservoir?
Gonna have to settle over weeks or months. If there's enough then the lake may need to be dredged. But dredging the lake would kick up more turbidity.

Can someone tell me who this is?

@@Happy_Biker Thank you!! I've been hearing his voice on the radio but somehow missed his name.
Maybe you should ask the Chinese if they have a solution to our water problem.
Confusing statement. Can I ask your point?

Hope you can get clear water to the governor's chalet overlooking Asheville. 🙄
