I’ve been waiting for the next solo video of you diving into Cartier again, and I couldn’t agree more. Even if we turn back the clock to 2015-2018 we can see the passion Swirling with respect to the past. I truly hope Cartier can maintain what they’ve built, while also going above and beyond in the future, by tapping into their roots.
Let's not forget other Cartier stand-outs: - Tank Asymétrique - Tortue - Tonneau - Tank Chinoise And creations such as the rare enamel and marquetry watches.
Cartier is definitely winning right now...this just shows you never know which timepieces will gain the spotlight. Always buy what you love and who knows eventually others will see what you saw later in whatever timepiece it is.
Just watched your video today “A letter to Cartier” it was saved in my watch later feed. Wow! That was a long time ago! You are still passionate about Cartier.
There’s been several “drop the mic” moments on this channel. This is one of them. Great video. (open letter to breitling, truth about CT watch collection, etc are others).
I work at a multibrand AD and I just got a fatigue from all the other brands.. except for Cartier and that says a lot about them (excluding the new Santos, those are just a big design miss compared to the older ones) I have multiple watches but I always go for the Cartier Tank or my Vintage Santos Galbee. Might even consider purchasing a Baginoire to keep it more interesting.
I agree. There's quite a buzz around the new Santos online and I recently tried on the medium and I didn't hate it, it just felt chunky and it's not for me. Then I tried on the Tank Must (large) and fell for it instantly. So thin and elegant. Now that's a watch. I've only seen pictures of the older Santos Dumont and I do think that's nice looking (especially the platinum). Not that I have seen one, but I'm not even so sure about the new Dumont design either (dial).
Totally, current incarnation goes against Cartier's DNA, which is small, thin, and elegant. Maybe it's going a bit far, but it is like a Cubitus debacle
Love all my Cartier watches thanks brother.... hanging onto my Drive small complications I think it will be a classic. Recently had my Stepped Tank NY restored by cartier .
Love this. I have a Tank and Santos Medium. The quick change strap option is amazing. I have my Santos on a blue strap now. I want to pick up other straps as well, maybe green or purple. Makes it feel like a new watch
Thank you Christian , as a Santos Blue owner it gets more stares and comments than my 3 Rolex’s . Date Just , Sea Dweller and Sky Dweller . It’s an elegant watch
I Have a 2006 Roadster and must say, its one of my favourites in my collection. In a world full of Sub's, GMT's and Daytona's, the Roadster always stands out as a watch that looks like no other.
I sent in a watch to be serviced in October, with a time estimate of 4 weeks. That has long passed, and my emails about an update/returning it have gone unanswered. How can I get my watch returned to me?
To be honest I do like the modern version of the santos. And the skeleton version is really interesting, but would love to see something new in the horizon! Anyways timeless designs with class.
Heartfelt - well done video (though audio levels a re bit a hot)... I don't have a Cartier yet, but they are constantly in my subconscious lately. I want a simple tank and I would actually daily it most likely.
Cartier is absolute class, every one i ever tried on blew me away. Absolutely recommend trying one on if you in the market, they look so much better on the wrist.
@@TheoandHarris we know you silly goose! This was an open letter style thing like you did for breitling but so you may have a Cartier Piece Unique, but where do the ads for longines etc end up? I’m based in the UK but I still feel I don’t see them apart from on the channel
@thomasbrocatello1809 so you think he did this video to try and get the attention of Cartier? I don't think they care. But why do you care? Tell me that.
Huh, they deleted my original post here… c’mon Theo, you don’t have to do that. My original post put a link here to their ad agency which has examples of Theo and Harries videos just like this one, where I asked if people had seen those videos on the channel, and if they haven’t, it was evidence showing they use these vids outside of youtube. Guess I won’t post the link to their ad agency, as that will get me deleted again. Let’s see if this post stays.
am I crazy for thinking Cartier needs to come out with a tank diver? They have the history; they have the style. It's just hard to justify that big of an expense on a 30m water resistant watch.
Hard disagree that Cartier isn't as appealing to men today. They just surpassed Omega as the second highest exporter of Swiss watches, and I dont think thats' behind a massive wave of women buying Cartier watches. I'm more into cartier now than ever, both vintage and new. Some of the amazing work they've done with limited runs of the Santos Dumont for example are going to be aboslute legendary pieces in 50, 60, 100 years like those staples that got the brand rolling in the early 1900s.
I just hate the inherent sexism of that old cliché of the Santos being "the world's first wristwatch", when women (of the European elite, admittedly, but then Alberto Santos-Dumont was a product of that very same world) had been wearing brilliant and beautiful wristwatches by great artisan makers such as Fabergé for half a century. But of course, whatever women want or do doesn't register in the contemporary watch world, so screw them.
@@mijnbuisje He literally says: "Cartier release what is said to be the first wristwatch of all time: the Santos". You can check it at 2'13. Watch the video before you release your unqualified comments into the wild.
Had a brand new Santos ADLC. Crown flew out of it while setting the time and found out this is normal for those watches. POS watch brand, solid jewelry brand.
Alternative title idea: Theo’s Cartier Pièce Unique application
Really smart way to do it.. out of the people in the level of getting a piece unique, I would love him to have one. Actually appreciate it.
no it's Harris that sits on the right hand side. Theo is the garment geek from Cape Cod!
Hahaha brilliant 😂
Theo fired Harris for Harris 2.0

So many metaphors in this video, like how Christian styled his hair like the Cartier Crash... truly inspired.
Ohhh my 😂
yes his hair is called the cartier train crash
😂
Crash? I wasn’t familiar
Honestly Christian has done more for Cartier than anyone in the modern online watch space. Definitely deserves a CPCP request.
Avw and jasper in particular had done more
Mike Nouveau/Craft+Tailored have always loved Cartier.

Just got my first Cartier last week. All I have to say it´s just right. This one is staying.
I truly enjoy my Cartier Santos 100 Chrono XL. Your video was really appreciated. Thank you.
It would be cool to hear your take on Berneron and his watch once that comes out!
Great video. Cartier will always have a soft spot in my heart. I just don’t understand why the best pieces are so limited. It’s infuriating.

The Roman numerals put me off . . .

Hunting down the rare Cartier using Arabic numerals is a treat then! They do exist, albeit they are rare.

Harris without Theo 😮

Unpopular opinion, I know, but Cartier will always be too feminine for me. But enjoy them if you like them. I won't yuck your yum.
Cartier jewelry is garbage for the rich and tasteless.
the watches are cool though 😎 👌
