I was very lucky and managed to get one of the few Excavator torsos with the Jetpack mod, just before Bethesda removed it as a craftable upgrade, almost a year ago now. I even got into an argument with some level 1100 or so guy who claimed I was lying, that it never existed. I finally settled that by sending him a link to an Angry Turtle review on the Jetpack. I've rolled some legendary's that reduce energy and ballistic ammo weight by 90% and perk cards that do the same for food and meds. I haven't found anything to really compare it to.
I've had the same suit of X-01 since I unlocked the Enclave bunker, invested at least 20k caps into it's blueprint upgrades, and currently use it as my main defensive armour. No body armour for me, just the X-01 and an M2 .50 cal. I've recently been working on making the bullion to acquire myself some T-65, but until that suit is fully operational with the same upgrades as my X-01, I won't be wearing it... Yet. The day it's finished will be the day I finally retire the old girl once and for all. Oh, and the old girl's non-legendary, because of nostalgic and logistic reasons... She's being replaced, no reason to waste resources on her. Plus, she don't need it. She saves my life just fine how she is.
In my case, I just like how the X-01 Power armor looks overall. I mean, just imagine crawling through a dark corridor, only to suddenly see the "eyes" of the X-01 turn on and stare straight at you, as if mocking your attempt at stealth. The Protoype colors I also like, though I'm likely to see how it looks with the Taggerdy's Thunder & Presidential paintjobs as well.
Sweet the list has been updated. This is the best list i have found to date for both armor and power armor for Fallout 76. Thanks for the hard work man you rock.
I use hellcat with all 3star legendary pieces, being mutant slayers, troubleshooters, assassin's, ghoulslayers, and last but not least exterminators. I have never felt so tanky with all that damage reduction lol
@@JerseysGhost my armor has dynamo core, for chest, kinetic servos for both legs, combined with action boy, dodgy, and ricochet, energy resist, nuka cola perk, and fireproof, secondary legendary effects also add +25 fire, ice, and poison resist. So, whatever damage I dont dodge (dodgy) or predominantly redirected, I straight up flat out tank. It's gotten to the point where iv had to sell stimpacks because with nuka cola is usually more than enough to heal me and further avoid damage.

Excellent and well laid out video. It is a huge help in deciding PA. Not a PA user and just got full SS armor set up but thinking of changing it up soon. Angry turtle has a recent video of using excavator armor set with carry weight legendary perk and looks insane so I think low key excavator armor is tanky enough and with inventory management difficult, the carry weight is a huge bonus.

It's nice that they added a non grindy pa set but it makes sense that the t65 would be better considering the grind. I'll stick with my t65 for the extra protection against assaultrons and blood eagles.
I'm still not sure which to go for. I quit playing after finishing all of the quests before Wastelanders, so I have X-01. Came back to the game just before Steel Reign. Trying to decide to save up for T-65 + Mods or Hellcat Mods with gold when I upgrade. Calibrated + Jetpack + Internal Database = 6200 :( I don't even care about the targeting hud if it's another 3k vs the +2 int for 200. Minerva will be rolling through with a set of T-65 within a month, so I'll get 'em at a discount, at least. Upside to Hellcat is you get it for free. Got one sitting in my armor stand as we speak. T-65 or Hellcat? All the love for my Excavator, but Daddy needs his jetpack.
Personally I'm going to still roll with T-65 just because if find myself in a lot more situations where I need Energy Resistance over Ballistic, but for ballistic 100% Hellcat!
T-65 is still the best over all but one of the hard one's to get cause of gold grind but the X-01 is the best over all out of the easier power armors to get with Ultracite being just behind it in stats. The hellcat is ok but with the fact that you have to spend gold on the mods you're better off saving your gold to buy T-65 an it's mods an use the X-01 or Ultracite an there mods since there given to you an there mods cost caps.
Wait when you said that the secret service armor has the highest energy resistance doesn't it also say that the heavy leather armor has 264 energy resistance while the secret service armor only has 220, please correct me if I'm wrong
radiation resistance hardly matters for power armor since while in power armor, radiation damage is reduced by 15% per piece up to a maximum of 90%, regardless of model. any extra radiation resistance on the pieces themselves results in a minuscule bonus at best. as with all damage calculations in this game, they eventually result in diminishing returns. hazmat suits, for instance, aren't extremely resistant to radiation because of their 1000 radiation resistance, but because they have a hidden bonus that reduces radiation damage by 98%. for the most part, the 1000 radiation resistance is just for show.
Nice, I need to get lucky enough to make a bolstering SS set. I have a full bolstering for my scout armor I use when I’m outside of my PA since I’m bloodied
I can get my Hellcat Vanguard PA over 700 DR and when in a group with Bodyguards card equipped over 750 DR. I would like to try the T65 someday, hopefully Minerva will have it for sale in the future
Its important to note not all armors are tradable and some will obviously be more tradeble then others... Normal armors allow you to mixed but with hellcat and other powered armors you will lose a set bonus if you mix different armors....
Good vid man brah secret service armor I have over 600 ballistic damage and over 500 energy damage I'm a MF tank. During the double daily ops I would just stand there and not shot anyone because I didn't want to be poisoned (my kryptonite)
And just to be clear the diminish returns on ballistic damage resistance they start at like 300 ballistic resistance but they also don’t factor in damage reduction that comes on part armor so having 300 damage exist or better in any circumstance is good good enough but it’s especially good when you’re already reducing that incoming damage by 42% and let’s not forget you know are you low health guys that are also running emergency protocols reducing it another white for a 45% I believe and then dodgy another 30% I mean it really doesn’t matter which powered armor you choose if you like the look of 345 where it the best choice though if you’re really concerned is the favor the high ballistic and energy damage suits like to 51 because radiation resistance in power armor matters very little when you have 90% damage radiation reduction you’re only having to resist the damage of 10% of that incoming radiation so not really that important
I run a full health heavy build with a juggernauts/explosive/agility 50cal, and excavator armor. I barely take any damage unless im getting bugged out on Earl (fk that boss, im done with it), barely take a scratch running through a silo run either.I like the Excavator for the carry weight and bonus for mining, its just a good utility set. I ran a junkies commando build for a bit with SS armor and got bored of it, then ran with a heavy bloodied build with unyielding SS armor and got bored with the constant rad maintenance.
All well and good except for me there seems little point in grinding for all these armor sets because there's no proper end game activities to use them.
im just collecting power armors due to the introduction of the power armor showcase structure, i already have the full t-60 set, x-01, ultracite, excavator, a few pieces of t-51b, t-40 and t-60, i wont be getting the strangler heart bc is expensive af and i just need the hellcat and im done
Also by the way Chinese stealth armor is really just a red suit with resistances but all rad zoos have 1000 damage resistance except for the broken ones that does the broken Red Sox have 500 the fixed rad zoos have 1000 and when you’re ratchet breaks while you’re wearing it you do not lose your rad reduction you don’t lose it but if you take it off you how to fix it and put it back on so you were kind of incorrect when you’re saying that the highest rate reduction is the Chinese stealth armor that’s not that’s not entirely true it is the highest in an archetype of armor which includes all rad suits
No dude it’s not difficult you can put on any set of power dermer it matters very little unless you want one of the the ones with sat bonuses it doesn’t matter which one you put on you have 42% damage reduction on every single set with all the pieces you have 90% rate reduction on every single set with all the pieces so whether it has 300 ballistic resistance or 500 ballistic resistance doesn’t matter that all all that much you’re already getting 42% damage reduction before that what matters is what style you wanna wear what style you have and again whether or not you want to wear a one with fat bonuses if you’re farming and you want extra carry weight then excavator can’t be beat it doesn’t matter that it has a low ballistic because you’re going to be reducing the damage by 42% before it ever hits you it’s not even gonna damage your armor that 42% if you want acid strangler heart if you want more ballistic protection then obviously um what the fuck I just totally blew my mind with the armor is the new armor set anyway other than that it really doesn’t matter if you have a set with a bunch of different pieces but they’re all good legendary facts then where it obviously you lose out on certain legendary port cards are required to have all the same pieces and but still no it doesn’t really matter what part armor you wear nowadays most the skins can be applied all of them so that doesn’t matter really only matters if you want to wear a specific powered armor set with a set bonus and that’s really yet
Brotherhood recon armor is the best normal armor with its 300 physical resistance. It has low energy resistance and radiation resistance but you can spam rad-away and the only thing in the game that deals very high energy damage is the imposter. To tank the imposters ray you need to be able to spam stims and it can't be done outside of a PA so don't even try with the energy resistance. The extra sneak from covert scout armor just doesn't do enough of a difference in a good sneak build and thorn/solar bonuses are a joke. Some who use unyelding might want rad resistance and then you should go for an SS. Unyelding and powered for auto-aim killbot or overeater's for tankyness. Rad resistance is pointless on a PA. T-65 remains the best power armor over the new Hellcat because the Hellcat's bonus just doesn't make up for the loss in pure protection. However speaking of bonuses. You can spam stims in PA meaning that if you know what you're doing you can stay alive in any PA as long as you don't get smacked (one-hitted). Because of this, we need to look at the best bonus a PA can provide and in this case it would be the Excavator with its increased carry weight. Overeater's for tankyness.
thank you man ... i was really looking for a comprehensive comparison with all the new armors included... it is harder than I imagined... so my sincere thanks for your hard work! . Below is what I found as classification only by adding up resistance and doing average of resistances per PA... and their classification from top1 to top 10 based on the values provided. Let me know your thoughts. I was suing Ultra thnking that it was the top 1 and in theory is only the 4th one and te mods are hard to find.. bloody queen always drops the same shit. Overall it seems that X01 is better in pricing ot T51B which modding is easier and even cheapest han X01.. X01 only by Enclave... while the other one in Watoga and Ferris. Hellcat was a surprise to me... it seems that only looks good.. dmaned mods cost a ot of bullions... i prefer them to mod the T65 which is more expensive in bullions terms, but seems a savvy investement... the decision resides then in what you want to spend bullions or caps... if caps X01 is bullions T65 with Regs because minerva rarely has new mods for it. Of course this depends on your play style and stuff... I dont see myself using the Strangler... its ugly as fuck regardless of the benefits. XD
Oh sorry oh I guess I missed that you were including armor as well but it’s a different program same story I mean armor does not include those inherent damage reduction numbers and so does depend solely on your resistances and your per car reducing damage but it’s still the same diminishing returns situation much past about three or 350 resistances not doing you any more good or at least it’s not worth the effort so use what you like the thing about recon armor I haven’t really gotten to doing it yet but the thing about it is is you can make a complete sad and then you can wait for pizzas to drop rather than spending boatloads of resources if you don’t wanna do that otherwise you can make a sad and then just upgrade where is web bar Secret Service farm or you could only make the legendary part which took a lot of resources although it does drop from certain events like flashback day I got tons of pieces of secret server from Secret Service armor from posh Mark but it was ever usefulAnd by the way the stats right out of the box are in bed on recon armor fucked up the nifty part of it is if you can make a complete set of your pets on not legendary and then just add legendary pieces as you find out why I just dropped it oh I think it was assassins actually probably should’ve kept that but I just dropped him off at six piece I think it was on the script question the other day I didn’t even know that armor dropped but I did it does
Vanguard secret service armor gives you more damage resist than all the power armors. I have barbarian and evasive perk cards and have 730 damage resist. I can post proof soon.

Used to be able to sell weapons for caps, then legendary crafting happened and ppl duping flooded the market. Cant sell anything that isnt a perfect roll anymore.
Honestly if you're that broke just go do the steel rain stuff or if you're too low to do that do the scoreboard cuz I can give you about 500 caps per I believe every 5 to 10 levels
I have been playing for over a month, and have now about 24000 caps. Spent lots, got lots. Just gotta grind away, plus make yourself a vendor as well, that will help a bit.
power armor has become nearly useless because of the lack of inventory. the only one that works is excavator however I have more armor with my secret service than that gives me.

By the way Chinese style farmer isn’t any better than a prototype suit camouflage suit or a regular rad suitThey all have 1000 ran resistance and they all have 99% rate reduction
I know things have changed in the game but the hellcat love logic is flawed. In PA even in excavator, I have zero issues with ballistics. Posion and melee hurt and Firestarters hurt too. I could care less about bullets hitting me. Hellcat is free but it's mods are expensive. And does nothing to combat the issues addressed above. Ironically the ugly new union PA addresses poison while also having good stats.
Only used base states for two reasons, 1. it would take forever to get every single state of every single piece and variant of every individual piece in that specific armors category to then compare them all to each other. 2. I used base stats so people can have a starting point then explore their options on what mods they want to add to make that set stronger based on what they'd like for their builds specifically. I can't tell someone who cares about energy resistance to wear something that is only high in ballistics etc, know what I mean? I let them decide that and give em a starting point

It is the best for all around balanced stats. Leather armor only has energy resistance going for it.
My goal is to get every power armor available, just got the stranglers one and now only have the t-65 to go

radiation resistance hardly matters for power armor since while in power armor, radiation damage is reduced by 15% per piece up to a maximum of 90%, regardless of model. any extra radiation resistance on the pieces themselves results in a minuscule bonus at best. as with all damage calculations in this game, they eventually result in diminishing returns. hazmat suits, for instance, aren't extremely resistant to radiation because of their 1000 radiation resistance, but because they have a hidden bonus that reduces radiation damage by 98%. for the most part, the 1000 radiation resistance is just for show.

I can get my Hellcat Vanguard PA over 700 DR and when in a group with Bodyguards card equipped over 750 DR. I would like to try the T65 someday, hopefully Minerva will have it for sale in the future

Assasins excavator. Helps me carry the junk away with that 100 bonus carry weight.
Its important to note not all armors are tradable and some will obviously be more tradeble then others... Normal armors allow you to mixed but with hellcat and other powered armors you will lose a set bonus if you mix different armors....

Good vid man brah secret service armor I have over 600 ballistic damage and over 500 energy damage I'm a MF tank. During the double daily ops I would just stand there and not shot anyone because I didn't want to be poisoned (my kryptonite)

And just to be clear the diminish returns on ballistic damage resistance they start at like 300 ballistic resistance but they also don’t factor in damage reduction that comes on part armor so having 300 damage exist or better in any circumstance is good good enough but it’s especially good when you’re already reducing that incoming damage by 42% and let’s not forget you know are you low health guys that are also running emergency protocols reducing it another white for a 45% I believe and then dodgy another 30% I mean it really doesn’t matter which powered armor you choose if you like the look of 345 where it the best choice though if you’re really concerned is the favor the high ballistic and energy damage suits like to 51 because radiation resistance in power armor matters very little when you have 90% damage radiation reduction you’re only having to resist the damage of 10% of that incoming radiation so not really that important
I run a full health heavy build with a juggernauts/explosive/agility 50cal, and excavator armor. I barely take any damage unless im getting bugged out on Earl (fk that boss, im done with it), barely take a scratch running through a silo run either.I like the Excavator for the carry weight and bonus for mining, its just a good utility set. I ran a junkies commando build for a bit with SS armor and got bored of it, then ran with a heavy bloodied build with unyielding SS armor and got bored with the constant rad maintenance.
With armor like that you can help a settlement. I'll mark it on your map.

I have all the PA sets, and with my build their stats mean very little so I run excavator with emergency protocols and calibrated shocks
im just collecting power armors due to the introduction of the power armor showcase structure, i already have the full t-60 set, x-01, ultracite, excavator, a few pieces of t-51b, t-40 and t-60, i wont be getting the strangler heart bc is expensive af and i just need the hellcat and im done
Also by the way Chinese stealth armor is really just a red suit with resistances but all rad zoos have 1000 damage resistance except for the broken ones that does the broken Red Sox have 500 the fixed rad zoos have 1000 and when you’re ratchet breaks while you’re wearing it you do not lose your rad reduction you don’t lose it but if you take it off you how to fix it and put it back on so you were kind of incorrect when you’re saying that the highest rate reduction is the Chinese stealth armor that’s not that’s not entirely true it is the highest in an archetype of armor which includes all rad suits
No dude it’s not difficult you can put on any set of power dermer it matters very little unless you want one of the the ones with sat bonuses it doesn’t matter which one you put on you have 42% damage reduction on every single set with all the pieces you have 90% rate reduction on every single set with all the pieces so whether it has 300 ballistic resistance or 500 ballistic resistance doesn’t matter that all all that much you’re already getting 42% damage reduction before that what matters is what style you wanna wear what style you have and again whether or not you want to wear a one with fat bonuses if you’re farming and you want extra carry weight then excavator can’t be beat it doesn’t matter that it has a low ballistic because you’re going to be reducing the damage by 42% before it ever hits you it’s not even gonna damage your armor that 42% if you want acid strangler heart if you want more ballistic protection then obviously um what the fuck I just totally blew my mind with the armor is the new armor set anyway other than that it really doesn’t matter if you have a set with a bunch of different pieces but they’re all good legendary facts then where it obviously you lose out on certain legendary port cards are required to have all the same pieces and but still no it doesn’t really matter what part armor you wear nowadays most the skins can be applied all of them so that doesn’t matter really only matters if you want to wear a specific powered armor set with a set bonus and that’s really yet

Brotherhood recon armor is the best normal armor with its 300 physical resistance. It has low energy resistance and radiation resistance but you can spam rad-away and the only thing in the game that deals very high energy damage is the imposter. To tank the imposters ray you need to be able to spam stims and it can't be done outside of a PA so don't even try with the energy resistance. The extra sneak from covert scout armor just doesn't do enough of a difference in a good sneak build and thorn/solar bonuses are a joke. Some who use unyelding might want rad resistance and then you should go for an SS. Unyelding and powered for auto-aim killbot or overeater's for tankyness.
Rad resistance is pointless on a PA. T-65 remains the best power armor over the new Hellcat because the Hellcat's bonus just doesn't make up for the loss in pure protection. However speaking of bonuses. You can spam stims in PA meaning that if you know what you're doing you can stay alive in any PA as long as you don't get smacked (one-hitted). Because of this, we need to look at the best bonus a PA can provide and in this case it would be the Excavator with its increased carry weight. Overeater's for tankyness.

thank you man ... i was really looking for a comprehensive comparison with all the new armors included... it is harder than I imagined... so my sincere thanks for your hard work! . Below is what I found as classification only by adding up resistance and doing average of resistances per PA... and their classification from top1 to top 10 based on the values provided. Let me know your thoughts. I was suing Ultra thnking that it was the top 1 and in theory is only the 4th one and te mods are hard to find.. bloody queen always drops the same shit. Overall it seems that X01 is better in pricing ot T51B which modding is easier and even cheapest han X01.. X01 only by Enclave... while the other one in Watoga and Ferris. Hellcat was a surprise to me... it seems that only looks good.. dmaned mods cost a ot of bullions... i prefer them to mod the T65 which is more expensive in bullions terms, but seems a savvy investement... the decision resides then in what you want to spend bullions or caps... if caps X01 is bullions T65 with Regs because minerva rarely has new mods for it. Of course this depends on your play style and stuff... I dont see myself using the Strangler... its ugly as fuck regardless of the benefits. XD

Oh sorry oh I guess I missed that you were including armor as well but it’s a different program same story I mean armor does not include those inherent damage reduction numbers and so does depend solely on your resistances and your per car reducing damage but it’s still the same diminishing returns situation much past about three or 350 resistances not doing you any more good or at least it’s not worth the effort so use what you like the thing about recon armor I haven’t really gotten to doing it yet but the thing about it is is you can make a complete sad and then you can wait for pizzas to drop rather than spending boatloads of resources if you don’t wanna do that otherwise you can make a sad and then just upgrade where is web bar Secret Service farm or you could only make the legendary part which took a lot of resources although it does drop from certain events like flashback day I got tons of pieces of secret server from Secret Service armor from posh Mark but it was ever usefulAnd by the way the stats right out of the box are in bed on recon armor fucked up the nifty part of it is if you can make a complete set of your pets on not legendary and then just add legendary pieces as you find out why I just dropped it oh I think it was assassins actually probably should’ve kept that but I just dropped him off at six piece I think it was on the script question the other day I didn’t even know that armor dropped but I did it does

Vanguard secret service armor gives you more damage resist than all the power armors. I have barbarian and evasive perk cards and have 730 damage resist. I can post proof soon.
That's awesome, but some people don't want regular armor to wear and prefer power armor.

Used to be able to sell weapons for caps, then legendary crafting happened and ppl duping flooded the market. Cant sell anything that isnt a perfect roll anymore.
Honestly if you're that broke just go do the steel rain stuff or if you're too low to do that do the scoreboard cuz I can give you about 500 caps per I believe every 5 to 10 levels
I have been playing for over a month, and have now about 24000 caps. Spent lots, got lots. Just gotta grind away, plus make yourself a vendor as well, that will help a bit.
And here I am being a pack rat still rocking my excavator.
power armor has become nearly useless because of the lack of inventory. the only one that works is excavator however I have more armor with my secret service than that gives me.

What’s the best scout armour for a one handed melee build?
I know things have changed in the game but the hellcat love logic is flawed. In PA even in excavator, I have zero issues with ballistics. Posion and melee hurt and Firestarters hurt too. I could care less about bullets hitting me. Hellcat is free but it's mods are expensive. And does nothing to combat the issues addressed above. Ironically the ugly new union PA addresses poison while also having good stats.

didn't you kinda forget the modifications each armor can have like the BoS combat armor which was the best in the game at the beginning
Only used base states for two reasons,
1. it would take forever to get every single state of every single piece and variant of every individual piece in that specific armors category to then compare them all to each other.
2. I used base stats so people can have a starting point then explore their options on what mods they want to add to make that set stronger based on what they'd like for their builds specifically.
I can't tell someone who cares about energy resistance to wear something that is only high in ballistics etc, know what I mean? I let them decide that and give em a starting point
