- Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by!
This is the video from our track rental at Houston Raceway Park where we brought our 2 naturally aspirated heads/cam Camaros to see if we could set some new records! Both had to find their way with a few shaky starts but Casey Rance helped us to get them dialed in just right!
So sit back and enjoy! Hit that like button and subscribe for more progression of these builds!

Always does my heart good to see those big ole 5th gens moving like that
what a sound from those NA v8's SCHWING.
I would like to know the exhaust setup
Wanted to say thanks for helping my first car channel sub cleetus out. When I'm older and ready for a custom build, I'll be going Texas speed all the way
Awesome cars! Good work guys.
Cant wait to throw an LS in my project car. You guys are gonna be the first call I make!
I called them recently an ordered one pushrod LOL
Those launches! Sweet honey BBQ!
Balls out...amazing American muscle.
congratulations!
The wheelie that black one pulled was sick! If the driver didnt derp out and give it full right lock and nearly crash it, would have been one hell of a run!
It was definitely going straight enough he could have waited it out and clutched the run. Imagine if that was the Record pass, that would be some good marketing material.
That's easy to say whenever you're not behind the wheel. Also, I'm pretty sure he set a record
Badass! 👍🏻
I love my 14 Cam Cam 😎👍
What cam are you guys running on that 5th gen?
What heads, cam, intake and compression on the Ls3?
How much for the heads on the 5th gen I need a set for my cammed 2010 ss? dreams!!
I'm mostly impressed with that 6th gen. Banging gears and running mid 9s with a head/cam package is insane.
How is that more impressive than the older gen boat running faster with only heads cam package?
Konig D 6th gen used to be a manual
5th gen for the win!
Maro life!
I want that 5th gens cam. Where can I get it?
Do it for Dale!
Wow! The auto car is ripping.
These cars need to be in a fu$king Movie
Word to Mother!
The 5th gen is Gms last true muscle car. They can roll just fine with some boltons and some weight reduction.
Well said
Well said!🥲🤝
@@cbrock9219 👍
what do you recommend for weight reduction without going all out, i mainly do roll races. never digs but eventually i will
@@La.Ron9 I went with a full drag pack this year. Lost over 70 lbs over the stock
Whats the setup TSP
What’s the setup on the 5th gen Camaro?
What do they weight in at?
Where the pistons notched for the wild cams in these cars
I know this may be asking a little much but do you know what all was removed or done for weight reduction in that 5th gen? I have a 2013 SS 1LE I wouldn't mind shedding some weight lol awesome runs guys loved the wheelie 😬
Strip it, racing seats, tires/brakes, and probably change the body panels to a lighter material. You can even change all the glass.
What’s the set up on the 5th gen camaro take my money already @texasspeed
Need a faceplated straight cut gear t56 so you can clutchless shift
Need some help getting some parts together heads and cam, but want to be able to drive it daily don't know if this setup is right for me, it is so badass though
All you got to do is call them
Soooo, which TX Speed heads and cams are on these things??
Does stock bottom end include pistons? As in short block? Impressive guys!
Stock pistons, yes.
What heads and cam package y'all throw at these sunzz gunzz
I need to know as well 😂
How much power do they make
What fuel where they on and what kind of lifters???
can you tell as what is the transmission setup
i see a lot of questions about which cams and heads in each gen and no answers. so again please. which cam and heads on the 5th gen and which cam and heads on the 6th gen.
Call them and ask them.
I'm more interested in the drivetrain, what trans and axles are in the cars?
Are they straight axle cars
I put TSP stage 3 cam in, had you guys Cnc heads with 1-7/8 long tubes and CAI, with BMR suspension stuff car runs in the 11’s so there must be more to this story
my guess --- weight reduction, PRC 260 cc heads, Holley ECU tuned, High Ram intake, suspension work, exhaust, two-step launch control, performance transmission, rear-end, axles, better driver? and probably other things I am not thinking of right now.
Driver mod sir
Definitely driver experience man I went from 12s to 10.01 my first year with same setup no additional mods learning to shift at the Perfect rpm with the Perfect launch is not easy every pass takes alot of time
There's a stage above yours. Probably running 2" long tubes into a 3" exhaust. Plus more experienced driver.
the size camshaft you are using is small have a look at how big the intake duration is on larger camshafts.
what did the ls3 car weigh at the time of this video?
Probably gutted....
If you think it’s just heads and a cam your wrong. High Ram, TB, TQ, possible drop in pistons, great 3 inch exhaust with 2 inch headers. Drag pac, lowered car, g force axels, one piece driveshaft and probably the most important thing a gutted car with any other weight reduction they can find. Oh perhaps E85 too or race gas, plus a killer tune.
Well it don't have racing stripes so that goes to show you... They did not try to squeeze out every little thing they could
Oh and by the way... Bubba, when you say stuff like that big long paragraph that you just put out here... It almost sounds like your butt hurt
I too think the same.. I saw a Gen3 Coyote stock block do 9.54 @ 144 mph. I was like wat the hell..
When mods were checked it had serious weight reduction.. Drag axles, etc as support. Without this sub 10s NA is super difficult
Anyone know what cam?
that is what I'm trying to do in my daily driver Camaro I have the stage 4 cam for you guys and its doing me some justice I love it if you want to check my videos out they are on my channel thanks for watching and thanks for the support
Looks like Brandon T Hill took the 6th gen record back.
So your telling me that's all that's done🤔? Heads cam & long tube headers? That sounds like more than just bolt on's 2 me but i'm willing 2 learn summin new.
Heads can mmm intake exhaust suspension/trans and a lot of weight reduction.
Can anyone tell me the cam/head setup on the fifth gen?
Stock transmission?
I’m trying to get the cam and heads package on my l99 do you know how much gain I would add?
I would do the ls3 conversion as well dude
You can gain approximately 120 rwhp. This would include getting rid of the L99's DOD.
@@ss_fiend nope
Bro that intro HOLY FUCK
put th400 on the 6gen and bye bye the 5gen just look the weight transfert when he shifts
Newbie question...are 5Th and 6th gen Camaro SS the recommended model years?
Texas Speed has virtually anything you need to gain big power from any LS or late LT engined Camaro, from 1998 up to present day 2021 models. -- Most 5th gens are a few hundred pounds heavier than 6th gens with equal options.
@@racer774 Cool..thx..so I guess either one is cool other than the weight difference. Never owned a fast V8...would love to have one. Prices don’t seem to be cheap in Houston.
@@dry509 - You are correct. Depending on your age and driving record, insurance might be quite pricey, regardless of which year 5th or 6th gen most interests you. Houston insurance rates aren't cheap! You might consider a later 4th gen Z/28 (ONLY THE 1998-2002), which has the 5.7L LS1 engine. Perhaps it wouldn't require full coverage insurance. The automatic transmission (or the 6-speed's factory style clutch/pressure plate & shifter) and the rear end (rear differential) are the weakest links with the 4th gen Camaro Z/28. You can find these usually in the range of from $3,500 to more than $20,000 if well prepped for racing. Also, you may consider any '97 or later Corvette or a much less expensive and cheap to insure 1999 or later Chevy or GMC short bed V8 truck, preferably a 5.3L or a 6.0L but even a 4.8L can make decent power on a budget. 4-wheel drive is good if you plan on turbocharging it!
@@racer774 Thanks for the feedback. I am a senior by the way so no worries about the insurance. I was pretty much talking about the price of cars as I look around the used market here.
@@dry509 A 2010 Camaro SS 6-speed w/ 122k miles in good condition sold last month for $11,000 in the San Antonio area. The right deal may involve a bit of a drive. Set your search parameters at: (Camaro SS, minimum & maximum price and the distance you are willing to travel) on whatever websites you are using. Keep in mind those are "asking prices" unless the price is listed as firm. Use kbb dot com and/or NADAGUIDES dot com for fair, overall values.
how does gm consider these two different gen camaros? basically identical
They're not identical. The 6th gen have a refreshed interior and exterior as well as an updated 6.2 lt1 making 455 hp and tq at the crank. Of which they underated a bit. They dyno stock around 410 to the wheels. So about 485 crank
ItsErick _ different floor mats too!!!
WHAT CAM & HEADS ON BLACK CAMARO, AN STALL CONVERTER????
That car has a sequential transmission, it’s not the stock 6 speed auto transmission from the auto camaro so it’s not the same
What's this set up
Ls power
Solid lifter style?
Joshua Anderson They are roller lifter cams. Go to their website and check 'em out. Look no further for top-quality LS parts.
@@racer774 Gwatney performance may have something to say about that
@@pyrorye-80 - Nothing wrong with Gwatney! TSP is my personal hp, LSx provider and has been since 2014, which is one reason I can vouch for them.
Can you tell me what is the engine size on those 2 cars please?
@@TexasSpeedPerformance thank you!
Texas Speed & Performance what heads and cam
How come the 5 gen LS did a better time than the 6 gen LT1? I THought the 6 gens newer tech would be a step ahead from the LS'S IN THAT CASE I M KEEPING MY LS3 2010 SS M6 LOL
Because 6th gen is manual
IRS?
What gas?
Which cam and heads
The fifth gen camaro
That black car isnt a 427 car?
I gots a question ok so im looking for a new engine for my 2002 chevy express van L31 engine do yall sell L31'S?
No they do not
Its texas speed and performance, not texas work vans and shit boxes
@@datrumakboy1020 🤣🤣🤣
na 9 seconds... omg, what mods you have besides cam head ??
?????
Imagine getting being a demon with 840hp on race gas getting gapped by a heads cam camaro 🤣🤣🤣. And then still trying to claim you have a straight line car.
