    My voice does NOT crack anymore, thanks to the straw and your videos. You rock!

    I would also say practice, practice! If your voice cracks in a particular part of a song, break it down, use the singing straw for this (there's a Whitney video showing how). Work on how to approach that part; you may need to do it differently. The messa di voce exercise (another Whitney video) really helps me. I crack all the time when doing it! But I am getting better and hearing less cracking in actual songs. Also, you can use normal straws, but the singing straw is better! More resistance & beautifully made.

    I've really been noticing the difference in my voice! Thanks so much for creating this Whitney!

    I see that you have a video for 'singing better high notes for low voices'. Wondering is you have a video for 'singing better low notes for high voices'? Thank you.

    What if you’re having soooo much vocal fry in this mix. Is that just like a hydration issue? vocal injury?

    What can I do when I don't have access to the singing straw

      You can always use a regular straw and follow along with our exercises :). The Singing Straw will just give you a bit more resistance and is eco friendly!

    What would you recommend for someone with the opposite problem? I have trouble with weak TAs and overdeveloped CTs. So much so that using any kind of volume in my lower range can often trigger a yodel-like flip over to thin fold. Super frustrating!!

      Focus on workouts that strengthen your low notes and then work on smoothing the break. Try these: ua-cam.com/video/TevzhQVIwHA/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/rEfPrBzklrw/v-deo.html

    I just found your channel - had seen an article in the past regarding using a straw to rejuvenate one's voice if tired, but your approach seems a bit more of an overall, generalized means for improvement, which I really need... this might be a weird question, but I noticed when doing the exercises along with you that I start to feel a little dizzy or light-headed after a few minutes - not debilitating, but enough to notice... is that a normal response to the resistance, and will it get to be less as my voice gets stronger? Or am I doing something incorrectly that's causing this? Thank you for your insight...

      Hi there! Not a weird question at all. :) It sounds like you might be blowing too much air - try reducing your airflow (keep the energy up, just try not to push so much air volume out) and see if that helps!

    Are you using your chest voice and mixed voice for the exercises? I didn’t know if I’m supposed to be using chest voice or not. Thanks!

      instead of focusing on register names (which I find unhelpful for singers a lot of the time) just explore the sound and see how it feels! No right or wrong here, just try to get in touch with how it FEELS in your body. You got this!

    Will this help a voice wobble???? Not a vibrato and wide wave wobble?

    • @SingingStraw
      @SingingStraw  Рік тому

      Straw and SOVT work can definitely help to stabilize a wobble! I also have a whole section on developing a healthy vibrato use in my Love Your Voice Course - check it out if you're interested! www.loveyourvoicecourse.com/lyv-course

    Can I use a normal straw

    • @therealkruz
      @therealkruz 2 роки тому +1

      Lip trills, you need small straws for back pressure - try the little black straws if you want

    • @SingingStraw
      @SingingStraw  2 роки тому +1

      You totally can, but the singing straw is eco friendly and will give you a bit more resistance. :)

    Not having success with an even slide. I find my chords “flip” from chest to head. What am I doing wrong?

    • @SingingStraw
      @SingingStraw  2 роки тому

      Try relaxing into the sound, you want to avoid any kind of reaching or pulling. Cracks and flips happen - it's common when starting the straw to notice some of those, think of it like your voice resetting - it takes time to settle into a new normal of a healthier coordination. Gently keep doing slides, it should improve within a few weeks!
