Baby Cockatiels' first 30 days

- I read somewhere that the growth rate of a cockatiel in the first 30 days is so fast that it's equivalent to a human newborn turning 5 years old in 30 days. So, I was really excited to see this happen and to document it.

Thanks for everyone's compliments and thumbs up! Btw, this video is not meant to encourage breeding birds. It's pretty difficult to do it on your own, e.g. baby not growing up correctly, which is why I had the cockatiels raise the chicks. FYI, they turned out to be extremely tame because I handled them constantly as they were growing up.

What you did for Mocha was undescribably beautiful. Now I'm not familiar with what kind of emotions avians may have, but the amount of love that bird got is just.... Imagine being infertile for years, your instincts tell you to make a child but you can't, and one day you wake up to find out you got your child.

+Radix M really nice. had two cockatiels and one of them just didn't seem interested in sex, so the female ended up laying infertile eggs for years - i felt so bad for her, she so much wanted to be a mother it seemed. :/

It was an odd way to do it, though. Introducing her to a male would of possibly been enough. It's rather strange to give her sister's child to the sister to raise as her own without consent from either. But they are raised together anyway and they are great mothers, obviously. I do feel that it was wrong to do what she did without permission, though.

Okay, giving a bird who can’t make fertilized eggs an actual fertilized egg is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while.
Supreme Bird, and a necessity too! I knew Mocha would be a better mother and I didn’t have the father to share parent duties. So one egg to one mother felt better for the babies’ survival... Also, it was the best prank I have made on an animal! 😄

Some babies are pretty damn ugly.
Old birds can be pretty ugly too. They usually are missing many feathers and have visible spots of skin.
Also, newborn human babies are odd-colored and bizzare larvae. IMO it takes them a while to become ''cute''.
I don't see any real difference between the two species! Ugly at first, then cute and finally ugly again.

That's really intresting. The growth between days 26 and 28 is quite astounding. Some animals grow amazingly in their first month.
