Have been experimenting with Unifi Protect but find it doesn’t compare to BI5. Would like for them to improve their ONVIF support but realize that goes against their business model.
I am running an amcrest camera on Protect right now ONVIF has come a long way. True the native cameras have a few more features but it is getting better and better. I am working on a video for ONVIF currently. Thanks for the feedback.
@ do you know whether there are plans to expand ONVIF support (alerts, etc) for 3rd party cameras in Unifi Protect? Replacing many cameras either Unifi brand not ideal. And Protect has less functionality but with a modern UI.
@@miles267@miles267 I'm not 100% sure, but as I understand it, they are adding more features. It will not be feature parity, but better than it is is now.
I'm another Blue Iris convert (in progress). Protect is not as powerful as Blue Iris or as configurable but... it just works. I manage multiple sites and Protect's multisite integration is just way easier to use.
I testet it with the First Camera and it’s really uncomplicated.
It just works
Also the Ai detection is great
I agree and thanks for the feedback.

You will never look back. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
