I believe they do this to highlight the most prominent features.
“The suspect was heard planning the murder of his wife, tried to murder his wife, hired a hit man to murder his wife, was seen disposing of his wife’s body and legs, and admitted to murdering his wife. He was let go due to lack of evidence.” HOW???
They need physical evidence because sometimes people will take credit for crimes like for loved ones or for attention.
Misogyny
Well, you can have absolute proof of guilt and still have that outcome. If the evidence was circulated or acquired unlawfully it becomes inadmissible and does not count as evidence. (More than one heinous crime as been met with this result)

How did that conversation go?
"Sure, I kill people for a living, but what that guy did to his wife... it just ain't right. Man's gotta have standards, and I'm speaking up!"
I think by hitman, they don't mean "professional killer", but rather, "random dude in the neighborhood the husband thought was sketchy enough to kill somebody for money".
It’s sad Rebecca never really got justice for her murder. It’s obvious her husband was involved.
She might still. I'm kind of hoping he'll spill her whereabouts to his cell mate
I really do think more and more people need to learn about and visit the Unidentified Wiki no matter how depressing it may be, it might just get the right people to make a connection/identification to finally get a breakthrough on cases

Ummm No.

Forensic Genetic genealogy has been solving a ton of cases lately.
I completely agree with you!
The last story had me in tears. That poor, poor little child.
yep
The story has been haunting me for years. It's so sad and scary
Diversity
Can remember when Adams case broke, the entire country was horrified, it still comes up from time to time, hopefully evidence is found and Adam can get some justice
No child deserves this. They are just innocent happy little kids.
There're a lot of these cases out there... My top two most haunting ones are the guy named "Leroy", who was found dead in a motel room in the '70's. He was really fat, had glasses, long hair, a beard, a mustache and distinctive tattoos and there're even photos of him made while he was alive, because he was photographed by the police for some minor charge (drunk and disorderly or something). Nobody knew who he was, because he had no identification to show for the police and he used false names at his work and everywhere else, but I think he could have been identified back then. Now, after like 50 years, we'll probably never know... The other is The Christmas Tree Lady, he was an elderly woman, found dead in a cemetery, near graves of infants, who died during birth. She was well dressed and had some stuff in a bag with her, along with a lot of money, a suicide note (she wrote that the money was for her funeral and that she wished to remain Jane Doe) and a small Christmas Tree. This case is very sad and also really eerie, since she chose to erase herself from existence and succeeded... Both of these are on Wikipedia, under the unidentified bodies in US states articles.
The Christmas Tree Lady case was solved last July. Her name was Joyce Marilyn Meyer Sommers.
Like previously mentioned the 2nd one you spoke about was definitely solved! I wish I knew how to tag you!
Some of them really speak to me, and hurt my heart.

Ending up as a Doe is the saddest outcome of a life that I can think of... 💔
I definitely don't condone a hitman's position in any way, but kudos to that hitman for not taking scum's offer, there are quite a bit of hitmen that have standards, they're not just gonna take out a random innocent person just because the person who want them dead is an abusive psycho who just got tired of them and wants a little insurance money. And kudos to him for coming forward with some info. That last story, no words.
Wow!!!! I knew Becky Alsup, when we were teens!! I'm utterly shocked her tragic murder is being shown on one of my fav channels... Esp, as officials in my area haven't given it as much attention as a dude from Europe, from all I've heard about them anyway!! THANK YOU SO much @lazymasquerade for showing it some of the attention it so dearly deserves!!! Williamsville is just about 4 miles from my town. We have a population of about 500 here in the place I live. Williamsville is small too, the kids there start school in my town, when they start middle school. I know A LOT of what was supposed to have happened to her, people who were supposedly involved, possible police corruption/cover-up, etc. It's all absolutely gruesome, and filled with abhorrent possibilities, and certainly heartbreaking!!! I don't know which parts are fact, which are fiction, but it's all sad and crazy. But, the rumors must cause so much confusion for her loved ones. I hadn't talked to Becky, personally since school, but I'm heartsick when I think of what she may have gone through before her death... And, for so much she definitely went through!!! She didn't deserve it, and now her kids are without her!! I have the utmost empathy for her family and friends!! Drugs are very rampant in small-town Southeast Missouri, unfortunately!! It has touched nearly everyone I know negatively, including myself in the past. There is another unsolved disappearance in a town that's a part of our community here, Piedmont. It's about 25 min from here, population around 2,000. It's also heavily rumored about, with some sad uncertainties. I'm sure there are some facts sprinkled within it all, per usual. It had near no coverage, sadly. He is from St Louis, if I'm remembering correctly. I didn't know him, but I ache for him, and his loved ones trying to endure his prolonged absence!! His name is Patrick Chapman. I spoke with his Mother on FB once, and she's NOT giving up, and REALLY loves her Son. There's a sign they put up in Piedmont for him, right as you enter the more populated section with pertinent info, and his image, as his case is being almost completely ignored by officials here. My Sister was warned on FB by a few people nearby, for advocating for Mr. Chapman and his family online in the past, for donating, etc. They threatened her to stop posting about Patrick Chapman, etc. It's all rather odd, but she hasn't let it stop her from supporting online, when possible!! 😘 Thankfully, murders are SUPER rare within a 30 mile radius in all directions of here, but they don't get near the competence, and attention they deserve by most of the force. I know some of our officers personally to a fair extent, and most of them are a complete joke!! Also, they've definitely been involved with the drug world here, in nefarious ways, at least off and on. I know of a couple past instances for a fact. I wasn't personally involved, though. just pray these two will be found. I'm sure it would give some small peace to their loved ones to be able to put their lost to rest!! I had an Aunt murdered when I was 8, and I can only imagine if she was missing too... It's unthinkable!! I know it's unlikely, but I do fervently hope Patrick is found alive!!! I've not heard anything about his case lately, but I do see a couple newer videos about him here on YT. I'll be watching now. I wish anyone going through anything like this peace, justice, and a happy reunion, when possible!! This was a Great video!!! I've always been impressed with the continued quality content on this channel over the many years I've been subbed, and I'm glad the focus switch years back didn't hamper it's growth, but progressed it!!!
Take Care All,
Amanda

@I it’s murder case I think she cares more about the greater good
@@TurtMcSquirt OP is clout chasing for sure. "Greater good" my ass.
Fred the Head has a gangland "say you're sorry" feel to it, and mob murder is the first thing that popped to mind, not serial killer. Practically, I think it would likely take 2 people to manage someone into that particular position as they were buried alive. It would likely prove tricky for one person in some way - too little time, person squirms around OR is slumped unconscious, managing the shovel AND whatever weapon is being used . . . On the other hand, the socks, the nudity, the woman's ring . . . all those point to some sexual element, and possibly some hate crime element. It doesn't take a serial killer to manage those, however, but the cops must have some compelling reasons.
That’s what I was surmising too.
I am very familiar with the Becky Alsup case because she is my husband's cousin. He's actually from the same town, which is only about a half hour from where we are now. So Lazy, if you would like more information about this please let me know.
I hope Becky's sons are doing okay. That Craig Wood needs to be locked up for life.
Sorry for her loss. I hope her husband gets caught for this.
For many years I've visited this wiki over and over, waiting for updates and the occasional identification. Looking at all the missing photos can be eerie, but mostly I feel this overwhelming sympathy for these unidentified people. It makes me so sad to think that no one is looking for them. They all must have had people who loved them.
If you look up "Philadelphia Jane Doe," there are two different cases. One occurred in 1963 and is briefly seen at 9:52. The other occurred in 1962 and this case has also been called "Philadelphia's Girl in the Box." I've been looking through these cases for a few years now and this is one of the saddest I've encountered. She was a little black girl aged between 4 to 6 years old. She suffered abuse before she died, as indicated by bruises on her arms. Additionally, her right index finger was severed sometime before her death. She was decapitated---her head has never been found. I pray that this little girl was welcomed in Heaven, and I hope she is playing joyfully without a care.
I remember hearing about the 2nd case I think..its so awful..I hope this poor girl gets justice😢.
That second one with the little girl decapitated is the one where police lost the jumper she was wearing, the only evidence for her case, by sending it to a medium in the post. I cannot.
@@medes5597 The 60's were wild -.-
@@gracequach6769 they sent the jumper in the bloody 1980s. They should have known better. St. Louis Jane Doe 1983 definety is one of the mysterious, heartbreaking, twised, heinous unidentified wiki cold cases I've ever read. I hope the unidentified victims will eventually have their case solved, and their names given back to them. Justice- even a little street justice would be nice too.

As a Philadelphian sometimes I'll browse the (very long) list of Philadelphia John and Jane Does on the unidentified wiki, _and that_ case, the lady who had her head cut off, apparently while still alive, is pretty haunting.
The head was found a block and a half north of Spring Garden, between 6th and 7th streets, in a building that's not there anymore, on a stretch of North Marshall Street that's not there anymore.
Makes you wonder what the hell happened all those years ago that led to that....
I'm not a fan of AI but I'm really excited for the forensic use of it, it's awesome that we could maybe solve a lot of cases with new technology
this is one of my biggest fears. that one day i’ll just go missing and no one would know. i’ll become another nameless doe who’s whereabouts remain unknown, or who’s body can’t be identified
I think more unknown and unsolved cases like this should be talked about more 🙏
Yes, I watch a lot of cold case stories and those are rarely solved. But these are on another level. Very, very little to go on.
@@chrisw6164 I can agree with that. These are all interesting cases.
@@AnnieNorthman89 There's an excellent channel I'd recommend called "southern girl crime stories" and she does regular videos about recently identified John and Jane Does. She clearly uses the unidentified wiki as a resource.
I agree, it's something that should be talked about more.
@@mcnultyssobercompanion6372 I’ll definitely have to check out that channel. Thank you for the recommendation 😄
A couple unidentified females still haunt me. One is of a girl's body wearing an oversized yellow sweater. Her head had never been found, her body disappeared, and the sweater apparently got lost in the mail to a psychic (yeah, lost, right). The second is of a young woman's torso with a cherry tattoo above her breasts. The artist was found, but he had no memory of who she was; only that two women were with her at the time.
I think the first one you mentioned is the St. Louis Jane Doe
Think the latter woman is one of the victims of LISK/Long Island Serial Killer
The story about the name "Adam" actually holds heavy significance. There is a code called "Code Adam", risen in '95, and it's called in various places where a child is suspected to be abducted.
When "code adam" is called, Any exit is closed off and a description of the child is announced so that anybody in the store can look for them. The customers are not responsible for looking for the child, but they will be able to help if they want to. Nobody can enter or leave the store Until the child is either found, or deemed inconclusive. Even if you're in a rush. If it's inconclusive, An amber alert will be shortly aired.
As a mother to a little boy, This story absolutely shook me because this kid is completely de-limbed and decapitated... Absolutely greusome... all I see is my son when I see the case image. It also adds Significance to me due to my son being half black... And unfortunately, nigerian kids are some of the most trafficked in these operations. Specifically for... unspeakable things.
Edit: Any retail workers who see this and didnt know about this, It's a great idea to ask your supervisors if they have any policies regarding Code Adam. This is a real issue and everyone should be brought into the light.
All true, but I did just want to point out that we don’t have Code Adam in the UK where this poor little kid was found in the Thames. I think it’s named for Adam Walsh who went missing from a mall in America? Ours is a much smaller country and so the codes for things like this are restricted to the police forces who liaise across county lines and will go to the media if they feel a public alert is deemed necessary. Just wanted to be clear that it’s not a thing here in the UK where this tragic thing happened and, given the suppositions around his finding, it wouldn’t have a made a difference as either he was deliberately trafficked or was kept from public for most of his life as he doesn’t match any missing descriptions. The kind of familial, social and geographic predictors that the DNA analysis that Parabon Labs in the USA undertakes might be the only thing to lead the way to a conclusion. We don’t have anything like that here to my knowledge currently. Wish we did.
No, Code Adam is named for Adam Walsh. He was kidnapped inside the Sears while shopping with his mother.
I guess it's called differently depending on where you live. Here when a child goes missing, they call it "amber alert"
For some reason, composites always me feel uncomfortable. They somehow give me the creeps, i don't think it's the fact that they're based on someone who is dead, it just looks unnatural
I rarely comment but I have to point out, what a respectful audience you have. As consumers of true crime, for whatever reason it might be, we always have to keep in mind these were real people with real feelings who led real lives. They aren't entertainment. Thank you for enforcing this thought!

They are *also* entertainment. We're literally all here being entertained by their stories. It's not disrespectful to admit that, but it *is* kinda bullshit to pretend that isn't how it is.
I feel like that depends on the person, but i definitely do think there is a high percentage that watches it for entertainment.@@superscatboy
I'm deeply passionate about unidentified for this very reason.
All mental health PSAs insist that everyone is loved, and has loved ones. So I always refer to unidentified peoples and ask, "Where are their loved ones?"
I'm very grateful for advancements in DNA technology; it always brings me joy to hear someone has been identified. Then, what frequently happens, it turns out the loved ones are the very ones who never filed missing persons' reports
I’ve been down these rabbit holes as well I just cannot get enough, part of it is of course valid morbid curiosity. The other part is genuinely wanting answers and closure and wanting these families to get their loved ones back and names given to these souls.
There is something spooky about unidentified bodies nothing is known about their lives almost like they never existed and it makes you wonder what sort of relationship they had with their own families on account of none of them ever coming forward to identify them I mean I'm sure if they enquired hard enough they will happen upon these cases and help to identify the person that they used to know.

I knew about the story of "Adam's" torso in the Thames before seeing this, but it sort of has a new resonance for me because I visited London last month, and of course saw the Thames River and the ferris wheel. I was on holiday in Leeds, where my father is from, so it was a somewhat limited excursion for a few hours on a Monday.
Not the only infamous historical site, if you will, that I saw in England. The port of entry was Manchester Airport, then we took the Trans Pennine Express to Leeds, and I'll never forget seeing the Saddleworth Moor looming over us ominously, or the River Aire in Leeds where Nigerian David Oluwale was found dead in 1969.
Yes. Witchcraft was involved if i'm not wrong.

I love seeing this because i scower the unidentified wiki quite a bit, im working on starting a true crime podcast in the future and getting updates on John and jane doe cases regularly make me incredibly happy because sometimes very suddenly theres updates on cases that are decades old
The saddest and scariest entries on the wiki are the ones that don't even have a photo available, let alone any kind of story or information beyond where the body was and a brief bit of information. @@faithpearlgenied-a5517 nah but fr shrouded hand is very calming as well. The first video I saw by him was the “worst medical mistakes” or whatever. He has way too calming of a voice to talk about stuff so gruesome 😭
Or another type of storyteller to try here on yt - Raven Reads. Sort of scary stuff, but her voice is 100% perfect soothing. Works for my insomnia +++. Hope you feel better soon.
Haven't watched the channel for a while, so I've noticed the graphics have really evolved! Kudos :D
Thanks for your continued uploads. For some reason i just cant believe it when i see youve posted a new video. You are a legend in my eyes 👏🔥👏🔥👏🔥
Two of my favorite crime channels posted today.
Damn I'll be fed for a while
Who is the other channel?
@@SuperCat2026 Explore With Us! I highly enjoy their content!
I’ve been having a rough day, been having extreme neck pain and can’t leave my bed/heating pad. I was scrolling through UA-cam to try and find something interesting. Then I see a Lazy video! So excited for it!! ❤ My day has just improved!
I had horrible neck pain for years, had physical therapy, learned all kinds of exercises and stretches, tried every kind of expensive pillow, everything. Then just a few months ago I got this idea in my head about what kind of pillow I really needed, so I took this brand new memory foam one I had and committed to destroying it basically ... if it didn't work, oh well. I took scissors and cut a big 'bite' out of one of the long edges, like half of a basketball, or almost. Then I put the pillowcase back on and laid down on my side, wedging that semi-circle against my shoulder to see if it felt right. .....Not only did it feel right, I could immediately tell it was going to cure my neck pain, and IT DID. Literally from that night on, it's like I never had neck problems all those years. It might still hurt a liiiittle bit after I've been seated at my computer in the same position too long, but I never, ever, wake up in pain like I used to, and I never have severe pain anymore.
Try it.
Perhaps lowering the blood pressure, could be of help. Any 🌿 diuretic to eliminate excessive liquid, and force yourself to breath deeply. Helps x sure
Thank you for a great video. Love your new intro. Love all your old and videos. ❤
Your new visuals/animations are fantastic, Lazy. 👌
So you're telling me he syringed his wife with bong water and it almost killed her? 😮 damn son that's crazy
Lol he actually said pipe water. It does sound like he said bong water tho
@@deadlock1011 15:25. he says pipe water later on as well
@@iminyourhousebro lol you’re right. Maybe he meant bomb water and said bong? Doesn’t make any sense either way
@Psychotic Peyton I could honestly see how dirty nasty bong water could be detrimental to health if directly injected. Alot of bacteria. I'm still confused tbh lol
All of these are sad and terrible but the Adam in the Thames one is truly horrible. That poor man was killed in such a disgusting fashion. RIP man.
I’m pretty sure it was a kid. He said 4-7 so that’s really sad. :/
It was a little boy and I see most people didn't care to comment about it. Just people getting their rocks off on people's horrible demise.
Another amazing episode Lazy! You are one of the very best!
Oooohh yeah! I need a chunk of Lazy right now. Cheers, my man!!
You know it's gonna be a great day when Lazy Masquerade posts a new video
8:55 Unless the forensic facial reconstruction artist did a terrible job, there's no way Fred the Head was that John guy. One thing that's fairly easy to do is determine nose size from the sinus aperture of the skull, and whereas the photos of John show him to have an average sized male nose, Fred's was freakishly small for a man. The only other men with noses that small that I've seen are Mike Pence and the late Christopher Reeves.
It also looks to me (and this could be a matter of the camera lying) that John had an overbite while Fred's report said he had an underbite.
@@amoureux6502 YES.
"Fred" apparently had a tiny nose, very small hands, slender build, and was found with a women's wedding band. Are we really sure "Fred" was male at all? Perhaps this is not the body of a man with a small nose and hands, but the body of a woman with an unusually prominent jawline. That might explain why nobody has ever recognised "him." And it would also fix the biggest issue with attributing the crime to the known serial killer in the area, i.e. that he is only known to have attacked women.
@@Valerie-nm1gr EXCELLENT point. Sexing skeletons is surprisingly hard. You always see anthropologists show what the textbook male/female pelvises look like, and even the forehead of the skull can aide in figuring out the sex. Problem is, those textbook examples are really pronounced, whereas lots of individuals can have differences so subtle it's almost impossible to tell. Numerous 'Doe' cases have gone cold for that very reason, the EXPERTS got the sex wrong at first. In fact one that I remember was a presumed male because the sinus aperture was so large (the height was fairly tall as well, and I guess the pelvis was ambiguous enough) ..... then it turned out to be a woman with a very big nose!
I just wish they described that ring better, like how was it concluded to be a woman's ring? Even some mens' rings have ornate designs with jewels and all, but if it had a big solitaire stone that would be pretty distinctively 'womens'. But if it was just a gold band ...... well that could absolutely be a man's, just made for a man with slender fingers.
u have my respect bruh. for all ur work and all u do for the families.. i should've told u this years ago..
I absolutely love this channel. Your story telling is great
VIDEO STARTS AT 2:10

The composite picture of 'Fred the head' looks almost identical to the 'Clocaenog man's' composite (Remains discovered in Clocaenog forest, North Wales, 2015).
Maybe 'Fred' with his slight frame was a cross dresser (hence the socks and ring) and possibly bumped into 'the wrong guy' who discovering the truth 'lost it' and killed him.
Finally bought some raycons. I enjoy the awareness mode because at work I can listen and still talk and understand people.
I haven't been this early in forever!! Thank you for the upload :)
I really hate to be that guy, but "mortified" doesn't mean surprise or shock, it means to feel greatly embarrassed or shamed. I don't know why someone would be embarrassed/ashamed of finding a dead body.
