The woman in the road mystery reminds me of the story of the woman and baby who's car flipped into a stream. People reported hearing a woman yelling for help but once emergency services arrived they realized the woman had been dead for sometime but the baby was still alive. Nobody can explain the yells for help and some believe that it was her spirit helping to save her child

@@billyford2262have you heard a baby cry? A baby doesn't sound like anything except a baby, thats why so many people react so viscerally to it. An adults cry is meh a baby's is literally unable to be ignored ...thats why people get so angry and agitated over it. Its a feature of babies to ensure their needs are met by the nearest adult immediately.

absolutely! the show “i survived” would be a good one to do the same with bc there’s been quite a few arrests made/sentences handed down that happened within the few months of an episode’s airing. the only downside is that A&E usually doesn’t give the full names of the victims & only gives the full name of the perpetrator(s) if they have been convicted and sentence while the episode is being filmed

I’m not trying to be dramatic, but I couldn’t place why I was feeling so wigged out by the I-70 killer. I then realized it’s because the composite sketch looks exactly like my birth father, who is around 5’9 and was 23 in 1992. He also worked out of town and lived less than two hours from the first killing. I texted my mom the picture without context asking if it meant anything to her and she responded it doesn’t but it looks exactly like “birth fathers name.”😳😳

This show I was watching about a baby who was found “frozen,” said never to assume someone who is cold and unresponsive because of the elements is dead, and to call 911 immediately. The frozen girl story is just one of those cases where you really gotta hand it to the doctors because if they'd panicked and rushed to warm her up, they'd probably have damaged the frozen tissues due to rapid thawing of the ice crystals. Severe hypothermia and frostbite requires incredibly delicate and precise temperature control to save tissue that is only frozen and not yet dead. Just being in room temperature too quickly can often be enough to damage the tissue beyond repair

Nick is alive today because his mother, as she placed her soul on the side of the road to ensure that her son would be found and rescued. The woman in the road story makes me think Deborah's intuition was correct. They didn't stop because they believed there were guys waiting to ambush them, and we know that kinda thing happens in real life. It doesn’t seem too fetched to me to think that maybe some sick individuals saw the crash, and pretended to be dead on the side of the road in order to ambush some good samaritans, but when the plan backfired, it drew attention to that very same area and the actual crash. It would explain why the body was different and disappeared. Feels more plausible than her ghost at least.

Except you don't need an actual crash for that scam, its counter productive to pick an otherwise invisible crash scene to pull some kind of crash scene good Samaritan scam. The human body is an organism that at the cellular level and like all other animals; will fight to survive. Some of us have bodies that are successful and will make it through , while sadly the rest of us don’t. This story and the one with the athlete that literally broke her skeleton in two from a fall, are remarkable. The athlete survived for days by doing ab crunches!! I suspect her "hibernation" state was due to genetic good luck, and the fact that she was doing basically cardio-intense exercise up until the moment she passed out. Anyone who has slogged through snow more than a couple inches deep can tell you how much of a workout that is. Basically her internal organs and limbs were both infused with maximally oxygenated blood, and were continuously moving while at the same time getting colder and colder. Nothing had much of a chance to actually _freeze_ until the last moment.

She knew if she let herself fall asleep, she would never get back up, so she stayed awake for 2 entire days, fighting off cold and sleep by doing bursts of ab crunches.

@ Punk Panther, I am immensely grateful that your nephew recovered fully and is another example of how much we still don’t know about the human body and that not all questions of medicine have been answered. The body is a miraculous example of how little we know and how much there is still possible of what is sometimes not always the answer that doctors have; doctors don’t have all of the answers and they are still learning even if they think that they don’t.

    • @D-me-dream-smp

@@NatureLover-62 while it’s completely true that medicine and doctors don’t have all the answers your comment seems a bit out of place considering OP’s nephew was more than likely saved and ended up living a hale and hearty life because of the actions of doctors and the knowledge they DO have - “defrosting” a frozen person involves careful managed delicate and complex processes to ensure that damage isn’t caused to tissue or organs during the process. The “benefit” of drowning or dying in freezing temperatures is that it can slow the metabolism down enough to avoid the brain cells dying from lack of oxygen. The main problem with living tissue being frozen is that because water expands as it freezes it tends to rupture the cell walls causing them to die.
I still agree with you that the intricate, complex systems of the human body are quite extraordinary and can still astound us with what it is capable of.

The absolute scariest story I ever heard was on the show Beyond Belief Fact or Fiction with Jonathan Frakes. It was about a boy that was dared by his older brother and friends to go into the closet in the dark. He didn't want to, but eventually did. After a little bit they opened the door and he wasn't there. The local authorities had a search and everything over the coming days and nothing. So at the end of the show I'm like absolutely fiction. They ruled it as fact, and it has terrified me ever since.

“The Beyond Belief: fact or fiction story about the monster in the kid’s closet was based on an actual event that I personally investigated,” she was told. “At the time it happened there was no explanation for the boy’s disappearance- until two weeks later when it was learned that he had climbed out of the closet through a ceiling panel and ran away from home. He stayed at a friend’s house surreptitiously until the friend’s mother discovered him hiding in the attic of their home and exposed the ruse.”"

    • @pinkdarkboy7127

I'd need to see the police report to believe that story was real, but most likely scenario is the other kids killed the boy accidentally and did something to get rid if the body. Then they made up the closet story. It seems odd that kids stupid enough to think that story is believable would also be able to hide a body so well that it would never be found, though... Kids can be very clever, though, especially when it comes to covering up their wrongdoings to they don't get in trouble.

I cannot express how excited I was to stumble upon this.
The re-release of the series left out over 150 segments/cases from the entire series, including those in the initial "specials" with Raymond Burr and Karl Malden...for a variety of reasons, upon requests from either family members of those involved in some segments, and/or by law enforcement handling certain cases. Some of the best ones (which for me, includes my very favorite case/segment of all time..."L'enfant" (Bashir Kouchacji)...the creepiest segment in all of Unsolved Mystery-dom, right next to "Scared to Death" (the Cindy James case)....and as strange as "Blair's Paranoia" (the Blair Adams case)
Those are some pretty big shoes to fill.)
Some of the other "missing/lost/un-re-released" segments that were amongst the best; the MacDonald murders (Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald), the Bonnie Wilder fraud case, the "Rolex Robbers" fraud case, the Baskin kidnappings, Satanic Grandma kidnapping, the original Unabomber segment, the "Catch me if you Can" segment, the Tara Calico/creepy Polaroid case.....just to name a few.
So many of the greats, seemingly gone forever.
Except for those who have the "recorded off TV" compilation discs/torrents.
Notoriously poor quality, especially in this "ultra HD" era...but are certainly watchable in my opinion.
So, long story....long....if you choose to do another UM case compilation video like this one (you should), but want to include/feature some segments/cases that many viewers may not be familiar with because they've never had the pleasure of viewing said segments, or have only seen once or twice 20+ years ago, and have forgotten all about them....I'm more than happy provide you with whatever I have (that I obtained via torrent downloads), that are otherwise impossible to find/watch.
That was a painfully long dissertation, the point of which could have been expressed in a couple sentences, instead of a War and Peace-length blathering....my apologies.
When it comes to UM, I just get so excited that my mind turns to mush.
I've been Unsolved Mysteries-obsessed since I was like, 8 years old. And I still watch it every single day of my life, despite having seen every single segment ever made, at LEAST 300-400 times. (Yes, I'm serious. That's not hyperbole. And yes, I'm a giant loser that desperately needs a hobby.)
    But what can I say....I'm UM-obsessed.
You should do more of these videos! It's great!
And if you ever find yourself in need of some of the old stuff...I'm your gal! 🤓

Survival is the strongest instinct. The will to live cannot be broken, no matter what, and these stories (and countless other miraculous survival/recovery stories) prove this.
I still vividly remember reading an article about a boy getting ran over, and the car stopped in a way that a wheel was still on the poor boy. His mother rushed out to help him (she was either of normal build, or a bit overweight, can't remember, but was not an athlete or bodybuilder), then she single-handedly managed to lift the car up so that onlookers/pedestrians were able to pull his son out from under its wheels. Instincts work in a very weird, yet undeniably strong way, if needed.

Dude. The Robert Stack Unsolved Mysteries episodes and theme are forever burned into my brain. I grew up with my grandmother watching me before and after school and she always had the lifetime network playing. Watching unsolved reruns with her in the early 2000s probably got me into stuff like this as an adult.

Nicks memories could possibly prove the theory of the couple causing his mom to run off the road. They probably intended on rendering aid and froze up when they saw that Christine was dead. They probably saw Nick was alive, but thought someone would find the wreck. They may have even put the shoe in the road, thinking it would help draw attention to the spot. After 5 days with no reports of the wreck being found, they came up with a story to tell the police out of concern for Nick. If the car went off the road without flipping over, then the shoe would not have came out. They may have removed Nicks shirt to check for injuries. The woman with the light behind her could have been Deborah, with her husband standing behind her, holding a flashlight, as she checked Nick for injuries. They may have intended on taking him to the hospital if he had been injured, but since he wasn't they decided to leave him there, expecting him to be found as I previously stated. That is the only way all the pieces form a complete picture.

    • @zombieedrea
      @zombieedrea Рік тому +7

Why is it so hard to believe that the woman they saw was a completely different woman that was either playing a prank, or perhaps was a different victim that was hurt by somebody else and then moved, or hell, maybe even was a drug addict of some sort, got herself into trouble and passed out? I don't know why we have to put the blame on this random couple. Nick's memories of a woman more than likely was something his brain conjured up to help him deal with the trauma of being stuck in a wrecked car that killed his mother for five days. I'm not buying that this random couple accidentally ran Christine off the road and then were too cowardly to call for help after five days. And it's entirely possible for Nick's shoe to fly off him during the crash, especially if the windows were open. This whole theory is silly lol I'm sorry.

@@danelynch7171 I didn't say it was what happened I just said it was possible, and put forth a scenario that might explain the elements labeled as a mystery. I don't think it would make someone evil to get into an accident and not report it right away out of fear regardless. Evil people would have never have checked to see if anyone was hurt, nor would they have been concerned about a child's wellbeing,

I grew up watching Unsolved Mysteries when Robert Stack was hosting the show. Needless to say he made the show feel even more creepy with his straight laced cold and matter of fact demeanor. I’ll never forget staying up late in the late 80s and early 90s watching this show with my parents. Some of these cases were truly shocking, bizarre, and downright frightening. So anytime someone decides to revisit past episodes to showcase some of the wilder and darker cases seen on the show, then I’ll always be there. Thank you so much for sharing this video!

Apparently I wasn't alone-it rarely aired again after it premiered in 1988 because a lot of people were freaked out.

About the bed case, the family decided to destroy the bed and moved to another house. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the fact that watching that episode when I was a child was one of my most terrifying experiences.
