Not to sound silly but man i really admire what kurt does. He goes to another country and he finds a way to make it work, not get ripped off and stay out of trouble. I get stressed out going grocery shopping at places around my own home. Kurts really living to the fullest and accepts fear and the unknown. That blows my mind. I need to learn to stop being so afraid of the little things and to stop caring about what others think.

Oh he's afraid, everyone would be. The thing is that he's prepared and he's fully aware of what could happen. Bravery alone kills people, fear alone makes people stay at home all the time, but bravery with fear make for a great adventure.
Maybe if you are confident, approach people in a friendly way, and show them that you mean well, you can go anywhere. That brings some light into even the darkest or most desperate of people. They will likely appreciate something like a shared drink or conversation with such a man.

Its crazy how interesting and captivating it is to watch someone walk around in a place that is a whole new world when you grew up a privelaged American like myself. I don't mean we had money, we were poor with 6 kids in the house. But our poor looks well of when compared to places that have true poverty. It really puts things into perspective.
