    Thank For the the easy demonstration on how to change Air Filter. My dealership was going to charge me $125 to change the air filter. I bought one and did it myself. Cost me $ 14.00.

    This was on the mark for my 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. Multiple searches for in cabin air filter replacement turned up many wrong year and/or wrong model.
    The job was a huge pain! Couldn't have done it without this video. Awesome job.

    Infiniti dealer showed me the dirty engine filter but wanted to charge me $87 for replacing it. With parts section 10 feet away, I asked if I could just get the new filter ($24) and he can put that back instead of the old/dirty one, but nope... they wanted to charge full price for it. I said put the old dirty one back. Then went and purchased the filters (engine and cabin). Cabin filter was around $27 but they wanted to charge $140 for replacing it. I said no thank you. Engine filter was pretty straight forward but other videos showing how to change the cabin filter were so tough to follow, but I really liked your video. Was painful to do but I guess worth it when I save $150.. Thank you very much.

      This just happened to me. The engine air filter is soooooo easy. It takes literally 1 minute to replace. I bought it for $13 at auto supply shop. Infinity wanted $89 to replace! Highway robbery. Because I am a woman they watned me about breaking the clips ! The clips are metal! How would I break them? The cabin filter makes me nervous. I don’t have a pry tool. Taking off the glove box makes seems harder but I am determined. Infiniti wants it the $300 range to do this! Crazy. The air filter costs $16 at parts store!!! I will get the courage to do it. 😅

    Thanks for the video! Nissan couldn't make it any more difficult to replace. In my 2008 Accord, this is a 5 min job.

    Very good video I went with STP filters fit perfectly got it done quick. And yes you have to remove the glove box unless you do it for a living. I think the hardest part was getting that filter door back on there. That took me longer than replacing the filter and taking the glove box off.

    Thank you for this well document video. I was able to change out the filter with relative ease. Initially tried without removing the glovebox as instructed by another video but was unable to do so. Keep up the good work!

    Very nice illustration, seen many videos on cabin for qx60 they hardly explain or show how…thank you

    Great explanation. Nice and thorough. Don't trust the number that Walmart gives for the replacement filter. It's really a tight fit. I had to use needle-nose filters to remove the old one. It was very dirty and only 2 years old.

    Thank you so much for the video. I have a 17'pathfinder. In order to make the filter fit in that weirdest position, I think I pushed it a little too hard. It slipped past the opening on the backside. I can see it and it is operational, but I cannot remove it now as there is nothing to pinch and pull back. Any help on how I can remove it?

    Is it normal for there to be a small air leak coming out of the cabin air filter door after reinstall? No joke it was super damn hard getting that door reinstalled! Like i really had to shove it in there so much that i even made the car roll forward and back a couple inches or so while it was in park. I have a 2017 nissan pathfinder

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  3 роки тому

      The door is a total pain to put back in. There should not be any air leak. You might have to use a knife and shave off the edge of the top clip in piece to make sure it's installed properly. Other than that, make sure the filter is installed flat inside.

    u dont need to remove the glove box. U can reach that cabin filter door whithout remove the glove box. Trust me i work for Nissan. I do this every single day.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  7 років тому +1

      I can understand if you work on Nissan and do this often, you will know how to go about reaching underneath to get to it. But for someone (diy'ers) who may have never done this before, you can imagine how difficult it is. You are pretty much doing this blind as you can only see the bottom edge of the filter opening without removing the glove box. I do appreciate you sharing your comment. Thanks

      I have a 2016 QX60 and I was able to do it all just by moving the seat back and reaching under the glovebox. Maybe eight minutes total? Thanks for the video and for this comment! $14 vs $100 is always a win!

      Folks if you do this everyday you will know what to do. It is much easier to remove the glovebox which held by seven screws. Great job man.

      I had to remove the glovebox bc the slot is 3/4 the size of the damn filter. WTF Nissan? I wanted to use a better/sturdier air filter and now its bent and crumpled not exactly a clean fit anymore. What a pain in the ass this was. Honestly I'll just have the dealer do it next time.

    How much does the new cabin air filter goes back in shape after all the squeezing and pushing on the new filter back in to the housing? Looks like a Nissan design failure (or after thought) being the filter sits in upright position, a lot of dirt/dust fall inside the housing and on the carpet during removal... Thank for taking the time to make the video.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  7 років тому

      Definitely the design isn't the best and it could have simply been made easier if they made that door opening wider. So you don't have to struggle to take it in or out. The filter does have very stiff sides which does bounce back to original shape after you squeeze it. So after you push it in, it bounces back to it's original shape.

  • @Placesandspaces35
    @Placesandspaces35 4 роки тому

    Good video. I changed a cabin filter in an Infiniti g35 and it was a pain! My latest car has the filter right in the glove box. Infiniti makes great vehicles but the cabin filter placement is a major fail. BTW just buy an AFE dry high performance reusable filter so you don’t have to keep buying filters over and over. Just clean it let it dry and put back in and move on down the road.

      Thanks for sharing about the washable cabin filter. Very good to know.

    • @Placesandspaces35
      @Placesandspaces35 4 роки тому

      dial2fast K&N makes washable cabin filters. AFE makes air filters. For the air filters don’t get oiled ones as it can mess up MAF sensors. Dry AFE filters are excellent.

    Most people wind up stripping screw holes when using power drivers. Also you don't get a feel if the screw is going in straight when you use a power tool. BTW I found it easier to change it using remove the kick panel procedure and I tried it you way and the kick panel way

      Thanks for your comment. If you have a 2015 QX60 then the halogen fog light is H11 bulb size. I have upgraded the H11 fog light on the Pathfinder. The procedure should be the same. See the vid: ua-cam.com/video/N0xT13avmWo/v-deo.html

    • @dial2fast

      Perhaps they are mistaken as some vehicles do have 2 in cabin filters. As for the price, that's reasonable and cheaper than dealer cost.

  • @Miracles895

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  5 років тому

      The steps shown in the video is per Nissan service manual. The other way some people do it is leave the glovebox in place, and remove the filter door and try to remove/install the cabin filter by feel. If you are not familiar, doing it by feel can end up taking more time than what I showed. Up to the person on how they want to do this

    Such a poor design. First it is very hard to access and see that opening. Second the opening is way smaller than the height of the filter. Bending it is a bad idea as it might not expand back to cover the entire space.

    You actually don't need to take the glove box a part. Just lift the tab up. Take the old filter out and squeeze sides of new filter and remember the air flow arrows and put tab back. I can be a little difficult but saves time and taking the glove box apart
