Finally went ahead and installed these. I tossed the instructions and just followed your video. Very helpful. Thanks for all the pathfinder videos you have done!
I am so glad I found your video. Not only did it helped me to install my running boards with ease, but I saved a lot of money by doing it on my own. Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I bought these for my Infinit QX 60 and was so scared to see the included installation diagram. I was able to install this in my suv in no time.
Installed mine, I used your video and the instructions as reference. They have changed the passenger front side long bracket to a U type bracket to clear the lines now. Key thing to follow is to not tighten the bolts until everything is installed and the boards are seated and measured. The install is not for beginners. Great video!!!
Just want to say really appreciate your video on the installation. I did mine on a 2017 QX60, and it's no problem fitting them except needed to grinding down the t-bolt. Your instruction video saves me a lot of time reading the instruction. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I know the written instructions were very poor. Enjoy your new QX (beautiful car).
This was a very thorough presentation that's fairly easy to follow. My installation will go on a 2017 Infiniti QX60 same color etc. Especially helpful was the organized, separation of all the parts. Thanks loads for this presentation.
I used this video to install these running boards on my 2015 QX60. Great video. Easy to follow.
You have a very pleasant easy to listen voice! I think I can follow your instructions and install the boards myself. Thanks from Rochester, WA!
Thank you this this how-to video! I was able to successfully install this on my 2019 QX60. Could not have done it without this video. A+.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Cheers!
Another good how-to video.
I am always glad to see that I am not the only one that saves TV Dinner type plates for sorting out nut and bolt packs. ; )
They are also really handy for working on things with small replacement parts.
Absolutely....I tell my wife to save them for me..haha!
Great video I just installed this running board on my 2020 QX60 using this video with no problems by only gridding the T-bolts even though they said it won’t fit Thank You; you saved me a lot of money
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you so much, the instructions that came with the running boards were awful. Really appreciate this video. HELPED OUT ALOT
Thank you so much for your very clear visual instructions to install TAC running board. I and my friend successfully installed with ease. In my opinion, manufacturer should provide your video link in the installation guide booklet instead of black and white graphic.
your video is detail and precise. Thanks. This makes it easier for me to order them for my 2013 JX35. Finding someone to install it without paying an arm and a leg was my dilemma.
Thanks for your comment. Enjoy your install!
I have a 2014 QX60. The Amazon store says these running boards will not fit my car. Can you let me know your thoughts on this?
Brian Ginocchetti they should fit the 2014 qx60. I just installed this on my 2013 jx35 and it has the same chassis as the 2014 qx60.
Thank you so much for posting this video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Made my day easier !!!!!!!!
Thank you very much, couldn't able to install with instructions received along this product!
Great job and you are a greatly organized man.
Very clear and detailed instruction, I'll install it myself. Thanks from Sydney
Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for this, I got a good deal on a sell of Amazon boards, similar model but my bracketry was different and thankfully nothing to grind down. Still, the video gave me a great start. Thanks for this and all your 2017 Pathfinder videos.
Really appreciate your comment. Thanks!
Thanks for a great video and your attention to detail! The instructions that came in the box were useless other than to inventory parts. 2015 Pathfinder SL
Flat washer lock washer and a nut! Sounds so dirty lol. Video is great thanks for the diy!
Your videos are clear and concise! I love them! I wish you did a spark plug change on the Honda Odyssey. Again, awesome vid man!
I decided to install the running boards on my 2015 Pathfinder myself only after seeing your video. It was a tremendous help. The brand I got is APS iStep (the distributor who sold it categorized everything as running boards). All of the hardware in the kit looked exactly like yours, including the mounting hole locations. After I finished installing and putting the boards on, only then I realized my mounting brackets are at least a few inches longer than the ones shown in your video. This makes the running boards stick out from the side of the door by about 4" (I got a 5" running board). In most vehicles I see on the street, the boards are flush with the tires, but the ones I got are flush with the rear view mirrors. It looks kind of weird, but it is functional. May I ask what brand did you get?
work out great thanks this was a big help
This is very helpful thank you I am going to take the Challenge and I will be buying the same one from Amazon thanks again
Very helpful video, i have same car like your and i hope you will do Steel Rear Bumper Guard.
Excellent video and never consulted the instructions that came with the product. Great job. It should be noted for recent purchasers of these running boards that you may receive a different shaped part from the video (6:55 mark) for the front passenger side install. One piece for that section was not flat but had bends in it; and instead of going behind the two lines in the video, I eventually realized my part went on top of them. I originally was going to call the company thinking there was a mix up and decided to move onto the driver side. When I noticed how the driver side piece was situated I went back to the passenger side and eventually figured it out. Had to move to a different hole for the "T" bolt as well but it worked. My parts list also showed a straight piece like the video but it wasn't what came with the package. The piece that may come will work. Hope this helps.
Really appreciate you sharing your experience. I also got a message today from another viewer who said the t bolts and nuts/bolts he got looks different than what I got. It's possible the manufacturer is putting in different hardware pieces. Anyways, again thanks for sharing your findings, and probably will help others.
Thank you for this video it helped so good the instruction it came with wasn't very good thanks
Hi Dial2fast,
Thank you for your video, that was great.
But Do you still remember how many T-bolts need be grinded down?
I don't remember but I think I pointed out the ones that need to be grinded down in the video.
I just installed these, they have updated one bracket. The one that you have to rotate in order to fit around those two pipes on passenger side....it is curved in middle now to fit around those two pipes. Don't have to go over top anymore. Its exact same kit in your link. Just figured I'd let everyone know
Very good. Really appreciate you sharing your experience to help others.
dial2fast Def, they didnt update the instructions. It still has old bracket listed. So I was confused for a min, between the video and the instructions lol
I just installed these on my 2017 pathfinder. I used your video to install them. Went perfect, thank you for your detailed videos.
Yes I just got the updated on
Hi I have a 2018 4WD NISSAN Pathfinder Platinum and it has welcome lighting installed underneath. I bought this running boards and tried to install it but I think the 4ft underlighting is on the way to install the angle brackets. Is there any other bracket that is available out there?
Thank you great video
Hi- what is the brand of these running boards for my 2017 Pathfinder? Thanks
Great video! But now that the running boards are installed, can I somehow still use the supplied scissor jack that came with the vehicle if/when I have a flat away from my home shop and floor jack?
I believe you can fit it on the front one, but not the back due to the brackets that is in the way.
Amazing very well tutorial
Wil it affect the lights undrneath those doors? When i open the car door, they have auto illumination under the car. Would it affect the lighting?or cover the lights?
As for the pair of actual boards, how do you tell which one is for driver's or passenger's side AND which side is front or back?
Did you torque the bolts/nuts to a certain ft/lb and inch/lb or just tightened them up to a certain point? Your running boards look great. I just ordered Romik RAL boards just to change the look from the ones you got.
I did not use a torque wrench. I tighten enough so nut/bolt will not back out.
You sure have a clean car underneath!
Thank you very much
Looks good. I like it
It looks great so beauty! I also like DIY.
Thank you!
is that gismo badge just added or is it factory?
In order to keep the bolts holding the running boards and brackets from coming loose, I would have purchased nylon locking bolts. In the long run, the price of those bolts would guarantee they lasted a very long time without worry.
awesome video. why didnt you add some blue loctite on the treads of the bolt?
The use of the lock washer will keep the nut tight.
I lost one of the bolts inside. I hope I have enough left
Hi. Love your videos. You definitely got my sub. I recently purchased a '17 Pathfinder SV so your videos really help. I had a few people tell me that installing running boards like this will void my manufacturers warranty. A couple of those people were car dealer salesperson so yeah I was like wth really? I don't see how since there were NO modifications done to the frame or any part of the vehicle using the kit you used in this video. Please tell me this won't void the warranty or anything like that. I would sure love installing this particular model you used to help my Lil 5 year old and wife climb in and out of the vehicle alot easier.
This is an interesting topic. First off, the dealer cannot void your warranty because you installed aftermarket parts or accessories. Secondly, think of who these people are that's giving you the false information. The sales person are either uneducated in this area or they are trying to sell you the install themselves so they can make some commission. According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty of your vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part was the cause of or contributed to the failure of the vehicle (15 U.S.C. 2302 (C)). This means that a vehicle's warranty cannot be "voided;" the dealer can only deny a claim if the stock part failed due to damage or unreasonable use.
Now you need to use common sense when approaching a dealer for warranty work. For example, if you install an aftermarket intake, and your MASS air flow sensor is damaged, most likely the dealer will give you a hard time with fixing it since the intake was modified. Or if you install an aftermarket alarm system (which involves splicing into factory wiring), and your dome light doesn't work anymore, again, you will most likely have a difficult time getting warranty service to fix it. So even though they cannot void your warranty, they can deny service to the modified part.
As you saw in the video, for the running board requires no drilling or modification to the vehicle. So you need to think by having this aftermarket running board, what component on the vehicle can be affected. I can't think of any. But with any aftermarket stuff you install, make sure a qualified person installs it because poor install CAN damage a vehicle either physically, mechanically, or electrically. Long time ago, I use to install car alarms, stereos for 7 years, and I have wired, spliced, stripped numerous cars. Never had a single car come back with voided warranty. I actually was contracted by some dealers and body shop to do installs for them. So bottom line is, install things properly with quality parts and do understand what component can be affected by that aftermarket part.
dial2fast Thank you for that detailed response. Makes total sense. I'm ordering myself these nice running boards as soon as I can.
Tnx for clear 📹
Hey my friend, do you know the weight limit of these running boards. Thanks
Hey Dial2fast, thanks so much for your video. I do have question it will be more appreciate if you can help me on this . I tried to use that link below you post to buy the same one but it's telling me will not fit on my Nissan Pathfinder 2017 SV model.
Even though the product fitment say it does not fit the 2017, this same product is what I ordered and installed on my 17 Platinum. When I bought it back then, it also said it will not fit the 17, but I tried it anyways and was able to install it. If you want to be certain nothing has changed, you can try contacting the seller and asking.
I have a 2014 I have a 2014 QX60. The Amazon store says this product will not fit my car however your description says that it will? Can you confirm? Great video! You make everything look really easy
Brian Ginocchetti listen for the answer at the 17:50 mark.
Great video! Do you happen to know where to get more of those t-bolts?
I don't think it's something a store sells, but you can try contacting the seller of the running board.
@@dial2fast Thank you for the fast reply!
Great video!!!!!! Thanks
Thanks for your comment!
You live in England 🏴 or in USA 🇺🇸??!!
Installed mine earlier today, thanks for this! The instructions were 🗑.
Thanks a lot
Change out as much hardware as you can to stainless or at least galvanized. Good video though 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice video,
dr fast. will the running boards interfere when you need to jack up to change the tires of the pathfinder? thank you
With the running board installed, the rear pinch weld will not fit a floor jack. The factory scissors jack might still fit. If you are using a floor jack, you will have to find another jacking point. The front pinch weld is still ok.
Anyone know where I can purchase an addition t-bolt? I purchased a similar model on eBay and am short (1)t-bolt.
hi there buddy...are these nuts and washers include in the kit or package?
Yes
Hi, Excellent DIY! The seller says it is compatible with Pathfinder 2013-2017. However, when I clicked on the link to Amazon, the Amazon platform says that it is not compatible with my 2016 Pathfinder. Is the Pathfinder in the video a 2016? Do you think it will fit my 2016 Pathfinder? Thank you.
+Ch Br They just havent updated the listing info. It will fit 2017
Video excellent. How or why for getting thumb down is no make sense. People is just unhappy with life 🤷🏽♂️
Ordered these using the link above and i) I received the same running boards ii) installation parts/brackets are completely different and no installation manual. I ordered these as your video was extremely detailed but now waiting on them to either send me instructions or return these. Just wanted everyone to know so you are aware.
Same just happened to me. Very disappointing
Hi, Dial2F... what size were your running boards: 5inch?, 5.5inch? 6Inch?
The actual tread on the running board is 5.5"
Awesome video, I also have the 2017 Pathfinder same color
how many of the T bolts you have to grind
+Jason Kendall I dont remember but each one that needs grinding was mentioned in the video.
Thank you away, just finish installing them
Jason Kendall hi, do you recall how many bolts needed grinding (I counted 4 from the vid)? Also, are there any bolts on the driver side that needs grinding? Thanks.
8 bolts in total
4 bolts for each side
Hi what Is the brand of your side deflector??? Thnx
Nissan OEM
Great video. How about you show us how to light those up with running board lights?
Why the link you provided on amazon state that the running board won't fit my vechile. 2017 plantium midnight edition
They just haven't updated the listing info. It will fit 2017 as 16 and 17 are the same vehicle (just different front/rear bumpers).
What about the 2018 model? Will it fit?
What do you call that black thing on the hood
Hood deflector.
Hi I want to install that too on my Pathfinder 2018 Platinum 4wd... can you send me the link where can I shop that too online?
Link in video description.
Hello, I clicked on the link provided but it doesn't take me directly to the ones you used...can you please update or tell me the brand you installed...thanks!
The one I installed is no longer available. I have updated all the links in the video with ones similar to the one in the video. Please take a look.
How long did it take you
I had to film the whole thing so that takes longer time, but you should get it done between 3-4 hours.
How are the boards holding up?
Great
Peter Wong I'm buying today! Lol thanks
Peter Wong how did you determine how far out or in the running boards should be?
Hi Adam, the running boards are very good and no issue. As for how far out, the adjustments for this style allows for few inches of movement forward and back and in and out. You don't want it too far out so you might have your foot get stuck in between and causing injury. The distance I find to be just right meeting the edge of the car.
I also have a 2017 Pathfinder. I m noticing a hissing noise coming from the left area close to the engine. You can also hear it when driving under 20 miles speed. Also the muffler is so noisy when I accelerate. Does anybody notice these noises?
thanks.
i had a nissan with the cvt it was horrible. do yourself a favor and get rid of it
It look cheap
is the hole diagram set up the same for the QX 56 ?
Good work thanks
