Great video. However I speak French as well as my mother tongue , English and when you over dub the English over the French I find it impossible to follow as I can’t tune out the French. Lol. Cheers from Montreal.
It's interesting to see that so much the footage illustrating the construction of Gaillard comes from the ongoing building of Chateau Guedelon. I even recognise a couple of the craftsmen.
I still wish the chateau was rebuilt to its former glory. It is part of the French history, it was a strategic castle that would allow a lot of techs they used during that period in the region. Britain may have built it but France took it what a rebuilt gem it would be. Sound was good for me.
I cant believe it ,when i first saw the castle with the village at the bottom, i was wondering what happens if an enemy attacks the village will they all go to the castle for help ,little did i know the whole video is just exactly that ,but i would never of guessed how tragic that action was
This is the worst amateur video, I made it about 30 minutes through before the French English translation speaking over one another just about made me crazy. I cannot believe that somebody would actually publish this garbage. To the producer shame on you fix this.
The voices of both the French and the interpretation make it impossible to understand what they are saying!
Yeah, just pick one or the other language and put cc underneath
it's a shame all the hard work and historical detail is diminished cause nobody checked the audio/translator levels before broadcasting.
Unfortunately, the dubbing volume is poor, making it very difficult to hear the translations. It spoils what would otherwise be a great documentary.
Excellent video, except for the sound. Also, Philippe Auguste certainly read his Commentarii de Bello Gallico.
very bad sound ....origininal french and translator english are sam volume
super annoying.
Been there. Walked those walls. Impressive for the times they were built. Very much the model for future generations of castles..

Need some CC on this, done gone mad with fuckers talking at the same time 24 minutes in, I'm out...

Incredible and truthful documentary about ultra brutalities between French and English during the Medieval period.
It was mostly a succession war between french nobles. Richard spoke anciient french, not english.
@@abe000torte During his whole reign, he spent just 6 months in England. He was a king of England but not an English king.

Ah gooest. Isn't that Augustus?
Crooks since Alfred the great!
John didn't make himself despicable Richard made him despicable. Richard left him with a country pissed off and over taxed.
If you were to turn down the background music we might be able to understand what the hell you are saying.
Whoever did the voice-overs did a piss poor job. Cant understand a word. Do ppl not review things before they publish them???
Richard the fox 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
unbearable sound
More like French vs French, coz those Angevin Plantaganet are indeed French

Richard was NOt English, he barely spent any time in the country.
it was not a divided Europe... it was a divided France. Richard the Lionheart was French.
Richard the tax heart.
Since when early 13th century knight war plate armor? LOL You sure they are historian?
This was so hard to watch with the terrible sound editing
This is so poorly put together, it's painful to watch.
