This is great advice! A few days ago, I found my language exchange partner and she is great! I had noticed how much I have improved in the Japanese language because of her. We both are the same age and going for the same major😂 She also plays the violin as a hobby and my hobbies are the electric guitar and piano. Seeing a connection form is beautiful and the conversation and knowledge can go a long way! Most definitely motivated me to not only learn more of the Japanese language but also my piano skills😅
That's gonna be different if she's not pretty, especially if she's ugly, u just found the connection and being motivated to lighten up the spirit to do ur hobby, but not go into piano
I couldn't agree more, well done Mia san. This is exactly how I learned Japanese, mostly by long hours of study and practice on my own, but also having amazing teachers. Some teachers even agreed to change their method and follow me rather than presenting predetermined material. My teachers were instrumental in getting me up to a decent conversational level.
@@songandwind72 I am actually fluent in Japanese and a few other languages, and what I said above is my personal experience while learning. I was able to start learning and pass JLPT N2 in one year, doing just that: study for 6 hours a day after work, and having 3 hours a week guided sessions with my teachers. I guess everyone's experience is different, and their level of effort is also significantly different. I do appreciate your comment, don't get me wrong, I just think we all could use a little detail in your response, instead of vague criticism and unfounded assumptions. I can only guess that you are dissatisfied with her advice regarding time invested, i.e. that you can learn Japanese by practicing 30 minutes a day. If that's the case, I would tend to agree, although the capabilities of different people can be vastly different, so it may work for a few.
I just decided to start my japanese learning journey over from the beginning. I realized i need to start practicing creating simple sentences. I have passive vocabulary as you mentioned, but i cant speak. Meanwhile I have a limited vocabulary in chinese, but can say and speak some thoughts without needing a vocabulary sheet. Im just not making myself think and speak Japanese!
i dont live in Japan but ive always on italki about once or twice a week. This week i went haywire and spent 7 hours in total, one hour everyday in a week just speaking and speaking and speaking. I can feel the difference in speaking speed and more comfortable. So far I've clocked in about 70 hours only. Target is 300 hours.
Yeah, I think when you learn anything the best thing to do is to put yourself out in the spotlight and embarrass yourself… your mind will be force to not make that mistake again and will learn. Helps me with learning new stuff fast
Hi, just found your channel Ive been studying japanese for the last 2months A few days ago I booked a flight to tokyo, now Im going crazy to learn as much as I can I hope to survive it all there in Japan. Wish you the best, I'll keep your videos on my radar Ps.: I'm from Brazil
Thank you for your advice Mia , I work so far jlpt n5. After the jlpt n5 exam, I realize it was not the goal , but only the beginning to improve japanese to be ready for real life : )
Mia. Thanks for your video. I've been studying Japanese, every day for the last 6-7 months. I also take lessons with a teacher online, weekly where I get to speak. But we're going by Genki book which is super dry and mot helpful for every day communication. I was very disappointed that dispite all my effort, in my last trip to Japan I could not speak or understand almost anything. Do you have any advice? And do you happen to teach online?
hello sensei my goal is to became fluent in English this new year and I lived in Japan for many years ago nowadays I speak more English than Japanese and I need to learn japanese again thank you so much for your tips it'll help me a lot thank you
I have been trying to learn Japanese for years, but having a 55+ hour a week job and 4 kids, leaves very little time, makes it hard to find aomeone to talk to. I never thought of talking to myself. How would you auggest to avoid teaching myself bad habits?
Comprehending sentences and making sentences are two different skills I think. So if you practice making sentences then speaking will get easier. Practice in your head if you have no one to talk to.
At the moment, I’ve temporarily paused recruiting new students for private lessons as I’m preparing for a course I’ll be teaching at school starting next month. However, if you’re interested, I’d be happy to introduce you to one of the teachers at my school! They’re all experienced and wonderful people! Feel free to contact us at the email address below! miafromkaiwabu@gmail.com
@@japanese_homma ah I see, 4 days ago or so I messaged you on Instagram asking about online lessons ((I understand you are busy so it makes sense you haven't seen it)), so basically I vowed to myself to learn Japanese for real this year, to get to at least a conversational level, maybe even beyond, I am open to any teachers you recommend, but ((I hope this doesn't come across weird)) I'd be willing to wait for you to offer online classes again, why? Because your energy makes me feel VERY comfortable somehow, in an unexplainable way, I'd hope a different teacher has that same quality of "comfortable aura" 😂 I do want to ask, what are the average prices for private online language classes in your professional opinion? Before I really get going with everything, I want to make sure it's actually possible for my circumstances, it also would help to know how often classes are on average, and how long the study session is, I hope I'm not being overbearing, just being true to my word, I'll learn Japanese by any means necessary 🤣despite my actual level of Japanese being well.... illiterate 😵💫
If you speak Japanese. I can help you with learning English. If you help me learn Japanese. (Or I can help you with another language (Dutch, Afrikaans, French, Spanish, or English)
Any other words on my mind? Now my 復活 into 日本人 is set in 岩。Learning is easy when 花鳥風月 is part of it. PS. What I miss in any language course is thematic lessons that are both fun and useful. A lesson about 浪人 fighting 山賊, or about 忍ぶ and his 潜入 into 陣営。Some fun stuff 高橋 留美子 like, has loads of situations that could cover learning through comedy. めぞん一刻, especially 五代 裕作 neighbours are material for dozens of lessons. PS.S. 4:10 You really make hard for your students to focus on the language. xD I had to rewind it few times to see anything else beside your legs. xD Are there any women to begin with, cuz that clip cracks me up?
Your English is really good 👍
I'm sure you will be famous soon. Please make more videos ❤❤❤
This was so interesting!! I can’t wait to watch more of your videos!! ❤👏🇬🇧🇯🇵☺️

We need more video 🎉
I think a good idea can be to use chatgpt voice and speak japanese vocally with it

Good morning dear
