@@Demonblaze0 Zoom in on the support gems. It's what I have to do. They all have a unique picture. The first video talking about the build, he goes through the support gems. Not sure if they are all the same still.
A big QOL thing to look out for at least as far as I've gotten with this is to try and get some mana on enemy killed on your gear. When I didn't have any, even with some mana regen I was just always drinking mana potions. But with just 5 mana on enemy killed I can clear and stay topped up on mana from blowing up packs of monsters. You still need to chug your mana pots for bosses and the occasional elite but clearing zones through the campaign feels infinitely better with just a little bit of mana on kill.
@@drunkenmonk1718 I've done 2 characters through the campaign checking the vendors every level up and I have never seen that stat on anything. To the point I question if you are confusing it with life on hit. But if it does exist it's orders of magnitude less common than mana on kill which completely solves the problem. There's physical damage leeched as mana but you don't have enough physical damage not being converted to cold to make a difference until the end of the campaign/early maps and you need at least 10% which means you need it on like 2 pieces of gear.
Glacial cascade with martial tempo and cold infusion makes bosses completely trivial prior to getting ice strike at 14 which then uses the same support gem setup for anybody not wanting to use the bow setup

However, I did just use default Quarterstaff Strike a lot because it had the highest dps. GC does take a bit to learn the correct positioning/distance, which is kind of a pain.
Yeah, this is what I did. If you just like the idea of sticking with the staff and using monk abilities for your first ever monk, Glacial Cascade with something like Martial Tempo is perfectly usable.
Leveling Monk isn't problem at all. The biggest problem on this to get your 3rd ascendancy. I can easily do T11-12 maps but getting done 10 trials of Ultimatum or 3 floors sanctum as a meele feels imposible.

Ice strike is very strong, this build will keep it in the safe zone to not be nerfed, there are far better builds for this skill
All Game on mele xD ranged not for me
i still don't understand how to play this and it seems very different from the previous two videos made on this build. if anyone can explain like i am retarded 5 yo i would deeply appreciate it
Aw i gotta start a new character now, nerf is coming
The campaign easier than already is? FU buddy xD
Huh.. pointless guide... lol
Please bro you are putting us monks on nerf aim
Well I play a monk so....
First?
that guide is kinda bait honestly, no survivability whatsoever, this isn't poe 1, the bosses are gonna fold you in
Lol this is a trash build
Bruh, stop posting already they gonna nerf it to the ground 🤣
annnnnd it's nerfed.
He's got zero survive on the tree, no evasion. He only got damage nodes. I bet his deaths are over 1000. I play Ice Strike monk since Day 1, this is a crap build TBH.
I have been doing T15, T16 and beyond with this build with zero deaths for a few days.
Of course a leveling build wouldn't have many defensive nodes.

Check previous videos of the build showing gameplay of high maps
@@JoeyPlat I mean: Poe 2 cannot really get tanky anyways...even with maxed defense you get one shotted in the endgame....He is just probably thinking: Git gud! :) Attack is the best defense, I guess....at least for now.
@MrStubbs8157 you even play the game? You can definitely get tanky on most characters even at end game!
@@JoeyPlat There is only 1 way to get tanky and that's ES. You simply cannot scale life high enough to be considered tanky.
false advertisement, i can only see a bow build
Bows until level 14 then switch to quarter staff when you get ice strike
get your eyes checked then? He's clearly using quarterstaff in the footage of him fighting endgame bosses
@@Sephiroso. I know, kind of had more or less the same idea on my monk. I'm in the "5th" act now. I tweaked it and it works a bit better now. I wanted to hear more about the build and skills then a bow leveling
@@rickspartanhow do you get ice strike? Just hit level 14. Do I need a level 5 uncut gem to drop?
