Damn, you're spearfishing videos are always so beautiful and serene. I think it's the music paired with the shots of just sealife and exploring underwater
4:40 Typically, double-barreled shotguns have two triggers that are offset vertically from each other, so that you can either pull them independantly, or together if you pull with two fingers/pull on the part at the top. If you ordered the triggers together, they might have just decided that you're going for a typical configuration, so you got two sligtly different ones
I was thinking that would be useful for a double barrel configuration, but at the same time, if you order two of the same product, you should get two of the same product. It should be a separate product that has the vertical offset.
@@FaceJP24 Absolutely right. You should get exactly what you ordered, intentional or not It's like that one time when I thoight I ordered TWO brakepads for my car, but I actually ordered TWO PAIRS of brake pads. It's not exactly what I wanted, but I sure as hell got what i put down the order for (and in this case I don't mind lol)
@@Ididathing maybe if the spears were on the sides of the barrel with separate rubbers, then you could have 2 shots and be able to shoot separately? might be able to even make a third spear on the top too, make a triple barrel speargun lol.
The quality of this video is absolutely incredible. I never know what's going to be going on when you upload a new video, but I always know it's going to be a great ride. I mean, life threatning currents, sharks, discovery channel level diving footage, and a double barrel speargun? Couldn't ask for more.
His videos are always fun, but tbr I miss the other range of animal topic basis he seemed to have about 1-2 years ago. Not overtly interested in welding so his other topics are more interesting to me.
My friend's been getting an education in woodworking recently, and it was a pleasure reading their comments regarding your... unorthodox working style. They told me, and I quote, "I was appalled by the way he handles his tools, who the HELL uses a router in such a stupid manner, you should know better even after watching just one stupid youtube video" 10/10 well done champ, keep fighting Big Safety who wants you to use machinery in a boring, less hilarious way
Make a fishing pole that has a metal wire going through it instead of fishing wire and hook it up to a car battery (or a taser) so one does not have to fight the fish to reel it in
They sent you a true dual trigger kit. You don't normally want both triggers to be pulled at once by accident, so the difference in length allows you to tell which you're pulling without having to look down at the triggers themselves and also helping keep from mistakenly pulling the wrong one. Don't know if that really matters but I figured you may be interested to know why they sent different length triggers.
19:34 You forget, we don't have to swim, haul a too heavy speargun underwater, aim it, etc. when just watching videos, I was able to hold my breath that long. Admittedly I was reaching my limit, but I did just walk the dog, this could have been easier.
I want a part 2 of this... Literally the best content I've seen on UA-cam for a while - perfect balance of comedy and story to follow and keep me engaged
This video may be one of the best of this channel, you combined your passion with the usual amount of tomfoolery and just the perfect amount of music and a little bit of cooking to make an exciting and relaxing video at the same time
@@Ididathinghey man i love your videos, i never watched or knew anything about spearfishing. this was so cool to see, i dont know how this works or how often can you spearfish but this was beautifull id love to see more videos about this
I love thé idea of actually having the audience hold their breath with you! Though people don’t realize how much harder it is when you have water pressure squeezing your chest and you’re swimming around. Also congrats on the monster king fish! I could only dream of getting a catch like that. I need to fish Australia sometime!
I'm a painter, every so often I'll take off my respiratory gear just to get a little bit of relief from the discomfort and I'll hold my breath to not take in the fumes. If I'm not doing anything, I'll get 3 minutes. If I'm moving around, I'll be lucky if I last 1:20.. I can't imagine how much more difficult it is moving around with the water pressure on you as well.
I had a friend die in my arms in rough seas. Really glad you made it out dude, it’s a horrible feeling knowing you’re at the mercy of the ocean. Well done for staying calm
14:00 so I went and figured out what music is ages ago, 3 weeks, and am now commenting on it. It sounds beautiful and "light" here but the full thing has some parts that's heavier and it's such a contrast. It's called Blume by Tom De Gold.
Those deeper dives are mad impressive... Im a scuba diver, deepest point i've been is 25m. Air runs out so much faster the deeper you go. 1'40" at 12 meters is crazy
Thanks mate. I recently did a free diving course and got down to 22 meters for around 50 secs. Pretty cool feeling but your head does feel like its being squished
I LOVE how you balance your deadpan unhinged humour with normal/serious/interesting stuff. It works SO WELL for this. Ive seen another comment say it but ill just reinforce it: if you made a channel just about spearfishing, id probably watch every single video. Its so nice to have running at the side while doing something else.
Ive really liked a lot of your videos, but this one might just be your best video yet - and you didnt even go too crazy with the "building stupid stuff"-part that i originally subscribed for
Honestly this shit is more american than anything, if he got drunk while recording this video then it'd be a bit more a different story, in several ways.
We are witnessing Prime IDAT! The not so shrewd inventions and unhinged humor that we love - along with the artistry, dramatic moments, cooking and even a hidden treasure hunt? He’s da 🐐
The music, editing, jokes/ puns on this channel are always incredibly good. Everyone involved with the production is super talented or hardworking or both. Love these
The power of the mammalian dive reflex is insane. I know I can hold my breath underwater for around the same time as shown in video. But sitting here at my desk watching this I couldn't get over a minute because my body was like "Why don't you just breath?" "You need to cough right now". Cool stuff, good dive time, I'm glad you showed it off, I was going to post a question if you hadn't.
Yeah it does help but i think its also undone by the usual stresses of being in sharky waters. I can usually hold my breath the longest on a lounge or in a pool
@@Ididathing that's really good... I'm 6'5 (natural lung capacity advantage) and my best breath hold ever was a 3:30, however funnily enough I seem to somehow do worse in water so 3:30 in a pool is crazy to me. do you train for it at all?
@@ezmatt im 6'4 and i feel like being big is a disadvantage my mate is like 5'9 and he out dives me so easily. We use too much oxygen being alive. 3:30 is really good. Yeah i train just by diving like once a week

@@VaeldargI’m in a city in an apartment building next to a beach we literally only have cockroaches, gnats, flies, house spiders, and dragonflies. Not even joking.
I’ve had anxiety for like a week now because I miss nature. I live in the absolute drabbiest area ever. There’s no life. No birds, no animals. Only 1 or two seagulls that fly past the window because they are starving.
Damn I impressed myself with the breath holding. Anyone who doesn't know how to hold it for long: Breath in and out a few times, deep breaths, then one huge one. Marinate on that breath for as long as you can, then when you can’t stand it anymore, breathe out a tiny bit then hold again. That tiny change in oxygen should be enough to revitalize your lungs for another 15 or so seconds, then do it again, breathing out only a tiny bit when you absolutely need to. Repeat as many times as you can, I had no idea I could hold my breath for 2 minutes until now. Its weird but works. GREAT VIDEO LOVE YOU BROTHA
@@staticseal It's a fairly common misunderstanding that we need to breathe constantly to replenish oxygen. We actually exhale most (like 75% ish) of the oxygen we inhale. We're just getting rid of the built up CO2 our bodies produce. In a similar vein, so many sci-fi tv shows/movies have points where they say something like 'the oxygen is running low'. It's the relative CO2 concentration that kills, not the total amount of oxygen.

19:32 You clearly got the cameraman from finding nemo to do this one. I was able to hold my breath for the minute 42, but I know how much harder it is underwater. The person on the camera is clearly a fish.
@@Jack93885 in my limited experience, yeah, it’s harder because of the pressure and exertion, although in breath holding competitions they lie face down in water because the cold slows the blood, slows the oxygen movement, slows the need to breathe

You should get exactly what you ordered, intentional or not
It's like that one time when I thoight I ordered TWO brakepads for my car, but I actually ordered TWO PAIRS of brake pads. It's not exactly what I wanted, but I sure as hell got what i put down the order for (and in this case I don't mind lol)
I still could have fired them individual but would have had to put the rubbers over seperate spears. Which i thought might have tangled
@@Ididathing maybe if the spears were on the sides of the barrel with separate rubbers, then you could have 2 shots and be able to shoot separately? might be able to even make a third spear on the top too, make a triple barrel speargun lol.

What did he do again?
Make a fishing pole that has a metal wire going through it instead of fishing wire and hook it up to a car battery (or a taser) so one does not have to fight the fish to reel it in
Might have to make that myself XD
They sent you a true dual trigger kit. You don't normally want both triggers to be pulled at once by accident, so the difference in length allows you to tell which you're pulling without having to look down at the triggers themselves and also helping keep from mistakenly pulling the wrong one. Don't know if that really matters but I figured you may be interested to know why they sent different length triggers.

@@zixea3318 Yep, sounds familiar here on US coast of Gulf of Mexico.
GREAT VIDEO LOVE YOU BROTHA
damn i nearly died at 01:30 and stopped...
but i rewinded and tried your trick ... and it really worked ❤
This is what I do when snorkeling (I don't speargun just look at shit)
There's also a thing called divers reflex, what reduces heartrate and bloodflow to limbs, what also helps you hold your breath longer
Like tactical fried chicken said, Mammalian diving reflex. There are people who can hold their breath for over 10 minutes, google said some diver dude held it for 24 minutes
