Robin and Colin back together is pure poetry.
Having had to endure some other sides local commentary at times this season whilst watching a "dodgy stream", it had made me realise how lucky we are to have Colin as our main man. He's so, so good and whilst it's clear he's a Forest fan, he can always give balance and praise when due. Could easily be a main comms for a leading broadcaster.
“Being the best version of yourself” is not just about the skills on the pitch, and that keeps the players thinking in the right way 24/7

Colin Fray is by far the best sports commentator in the land. His passion and enthusiasm is unbelievable made better with Steve Hodge and Steve Sutton and and even Brian Laws when a goal goes in love it guys keep up the good work. COYR FTID

I grew up listening to one of Colin’s biggest influences Peter Jones commentating on Cloughies amazing European nights.
Now my two children listen to Colin every match even pausing live TV games so his commentary runs parallel.

I love the relationship Colin has with Steve Cooper. I think it's because Cooper seems to 'get it' at Forest and has soaked up NFFC and what we are all about (the first home game when we sang MoK is one example).
When Cooper said the semi win was for Colin was such a nice touch

Steve Cooper was appointed on 21st September 2021 when Forest was 24th in the Championship. Come Tuesday 17th May 2022 Steve Cooper led Forest to the Championship PlayOff Final. That means in 238 days (7 months and 26 days).
What could be the reason behind this change? There is an obvious and very clear pointer behind the success. Steve Cooper has done something that other past managers either were scared of or wanted to ignore or even remove, And that is he is not afraid of the history of the club, but Steve Cooper embraced it and the city as well.
Yes, and made an immediate connection with the fans too… I think having everybody on side has made a huge difference too.

Brilliant. Dane Murphy also deserves a hell of a lot of credit. He was the one who appointed Cooper, and I’m sure he’s part of bringing the whole club together to think with the same winning mentality. For an American he doesn’t half know a lot about how a football club works!

Made up for Colin that he _finally_ gets to commentate on Forest at Wembley - the emotion in his voice after the penalties was there for us all to hear.
I've got to say that I love the commentary team that we have - they are the most honest bunch of local commentators I've heard and quite prepared to call the team out as crap if that's how they're playing. Long may it continue - the good unbiased commentary not the Forest being crap bit. 🤞

Thanks Colin - have loved your commentaries on Forest TV whilst we are exiled in Bahrain. I was lucky to see Forest at Wembley in 1980, 89, 90 and 91 but this is as big as those games.

Yes that Yeovil/Blackpool moment started to dawn in the second half! But then we came back strong again and blitzed the pens! Great for you to commentate at Wembley at last. I remember the late great Colin Slater was commentating when Jemmo scored against Oldham!

When it comes to Cooper he is a “high performance coach” it’s more than football. It’s about people, their dream, ambition and coming together.
He does have a plan.
And he keeps it simple.
He believes in the players.
And the players see the belief in them.
Everything he does shows the players their true potential, and within his plan he gives them the license to be the best footballer they can.
He’s definitely got something!

When Huddersfiels went under the radar they were 18 games yes 18 games unbeaten . Top of the championship table for set pieces and more importantly NOTHING TO LOOSE as Forest are favourites.
One of the main differences with Cooper is he 'gets it'.
He he seems to understand the Forest way and encompasses every thing about it.

Superb interview. I do fear overconfidence against Huddersfield. I have watched them a lot this year and they are a damn good side. They are also particularly strong at set piece delivery in to the box and we are going to have to play to our best level to overcome them (I.e. Sheffield Utd first leg).

Interesting, that even someone like Colin Fray can't see exactly what has happened. Yes, there is not too much information but Steve Cooper has copied a blueprint (to a T) that he was involved in designing and there is plenty of information on the original to fill in the gaps.
Personally, I loved watching Forest and then it clicked why it seemed familiar as I last year I had researched that blueprint we was copying. It was only when they beat West Brom it hit me and I researched Cooper as I wonder if he had a connection. I wasn't really expecting to find he had such a connection. It has made it fascinating for me as I had always wondered what happened if you applied the research and blueprint to a club like Nottingham Forest and whether it would cause the the same success and same dramatic turn around as it did with the original. I just didn't realise the answer was staring me in the face.
I wouldn't worry about the future no matter what happens a week Sunday. Even if a lot of players leave, he would only replace them with others who would fit straight in. And I wouldn't worry about Cooper leave. I think he will leave in August 2026. Before then, if you look at his history not just with Forest but before that, especially why he left Swansea, it should be clear that he won't go anywhere else, as nowhere else will offer him what Forest have and he will know that.

The now or never question could end up being a poignant one. Forest have had the pleasure of having some very good loan players this season, these guys will be heading back to their parent clubs leaving forest looking poorer without them. The possibility of us selling our own star players as well will leave the club looking a bit like going back to the drawing board.
Yeah it could be… though as we mentioned, I think you’d have confidence in Cooper and the CEO to find good replacements. Anyway, hope it doesn’t become relevant!

@@SportChippers No worries Chippers. You and Colin have been a massive part of my life. Forest fan since we won the ZDS Cup.... and I turned 40 last week! I've lived in/near Liverpool all my life and had season tickets through the 90's and early 2000's. I've not been able to get to the games for various reasons but can honestly say I've missed less than 50 games on the radio since 2005'ish... much to my wife's annoyance!!! I tell her that Forest are about to line up, but I'l load the dishwasher...... ....... ...... next....
