A tough man but what a heart of gold, they don't make characters like Clough anymore
What a fascinating story. I’ve ordered the book: you can tell from the interview how much Craig has put into it. There are so many Clough anecdotes out there and sometimes he gets reduced to a caricature, but there were many facets to his personality. Alongside the genius eccentricity, he was a kind and generous man. He recognised when people were struggling and wanted to share some of what he had. It’s great that Craig has a detailed memory of the teams of that period - it had not occurred to me that the semi-final was the reason Clough stuck with the same line-up against Spurs. I started following Forest in 87/88 and always thought those teams had a simplicity that reflected Clough’s principles - clean, no superstars, look after the ball, give the best possible pass to your team mate. In a way, it sounds like Craig was effected by that ethos too.
who wasnt? :)
I'd love to see Craig's story made into film or a feature length drama. It would be a fantastic watch!
would make a great sequel to the damned utd
Not only was he in top one of football managers, he was in the top one of human beings as well
Read the book recently and loved every page. Thanks Craig!
Great to hear!
Just read book on holiday, really enjoyed 👍
Lovely interview Robin. Well done Craig for the book.
Great book, just finished reading it. Love the respect he had for Brian & his family
What a revelation. Great scoop this Robin. The book is on my Christmas list..great stories Craig 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Great interview chippers and what a fascinating story which I’ve read in the papers before but it’s better when it’s actually come out of Graigs mouth. He and his brother are very lucky to have had a little bit of luck and had a better life for it well done to the both of them. 👏well here’s to the next one chippers well done 👍
Cloughie an extraordinary man ..
It's a great book. I'm baffled about what help the other writers gave who are mentioned in Acknowledgements. The prose has a personal voice all the way through so it doesn't strike me as ghosted.
Recently listened to it on Audible. What an incredible story, written and read in a way you lived it!
I absolutely devoured the book. It's fantastic.
Thank you, just ordering it now.
Thanks Darren, I hope you enjoy it!
This book is immense. Amazing story.
Just shows what a great man he was. Utb
Great book , just finished it and it’s superb. I agree with other posters it could easily be made into a film.
Well done Craig
Ordered the Hardback of Amazon , cant wait to read it
