Well, first of all, a lot of those of probably all the different orders he's a member of as well as the patron of.
Secondly, he did serve in the Second World War.
William is like “God Save My Grandmother”

And Philp is like “God Save My Wife”
This made my day😂😂😂 still my humble condolences for her husband passing.

Actually, I read that her father sung "God save the King". The explanation was that he did it as a man, thus marking that the King is a function, not a man, and that the man who happens to have the function must not forget that he is to bow before it.

By the way the current Dean of Westminster leans toward the 'high' church, so we have all the incense, icons etc at many services at the Abbey. You're more than welcome to attend a service, and visit the shrine of St Edward the Confessor, King and Saint.

I think the Queen should feel free to sing the anthem too, future Queens most certainly need God's blessing as well, as long as she doesn't sing God save our gracious me" or God save your gracious Queen" she is not necessarily praying for herself.

When the song was written, "save" was more of a generic term for "protect" of "keep safe".

"God Save The King" was originally written as patriotic song at the time of the Jacobite risings (hence the reference to Scotland in the old version)
Scotland and Wales already use their own national songs, it's only England that hasn't felt the need, to date, to have one of it's own.
The current National Anthem is more correctly a prayer for the ruling monarch and couild, in my opinion, only be used in the presense of the monarch.

It is indeed a 'monarchial anthem' It's never been anything else. Suggest you read the second verse, the verse that ends "God save us all."
