Installation is quite simple once you get the hang of it. You don't really need to screw in the meshed squares unless you plan on placing something heavy on it. Def well built and put a lot of thought into the design
Nice video! Are you planning on covering the Nanoleaf Sense Switches? Im interested to see how those interoperate their new proprietary protocol and HomeKit.
Just curious since you've already got your hands on these, seems like they don't offer flex capabilities with these panels (ability to place them in a corner and have them connected across both walls), however it seems like the connections are the same as the shapes since they state the rigid linkers can be used to connect them to shapes panels, however they state that the flex connectors will not work. Just wondering if you have any insight or if you can potentially see why it wouldn't physically be compatible based on what you can see in hand, thanks a ton!
Thanks for the great review .. with all love I have to Nanoleaf concepts and design … I wish from such pricy ( relatively ) brand to spend enough time on their software , cluttered app and too buggy connectivity issues .. I have never had peace with their products .. always have to soft / hard reset … re- pair .. again and again and again
It is more than I expected. It’s more than just light up squares on your wall. And it’s more effort to install and more little details to get right on installation than I expected. It was also much brighter than I expected. All these things are discussed in the video.
Eric, I loved the video. I thought you blended product review, how to design and test layout ideas, and a good explainer on the setup (especially with the shelf update patch to the video!). I have the black hexagons in my office and I think they look great even when they off. As you noted, that maybe easier to pull off in an office and I’m sure the black color enhances the aesthetics.
Great review Eric

Yes I can’t wait for the Sense Switch to come out!

I asked this same question on r/nanoleaf and was told by the company that the current flex links will not work with the blocks.
Solid review! Thanks :) Will you be covering their Sense+ switch?
Yes I can’t wait to cover the Sense+ Switch
How dim can they go?
Element and lines looks the best when off

Tony the Cow... I thought that was a really fat spotted dog the whole time! lol
Why part of their products matter over thread and the rest over wifi?
It seems like they want to give customers options of Thread or Wi-Fi depending on their needs and home setup.
7:36 surely I’m not the only one who sees something off about this design…
Why is no one discussing the polychrome elephant in the room? These are LIFX tiles from nearly a decade ago….
In summary... Expensive, badly packaged, and hard to install! I will stay away from these ones! Thx Eric
Your title is misleading
