  • It was the year of the OLED gaming monitor, with a dozen or more models releasing from some of the world's largest brands. That has made it tough to narrow down the OLED gaming monitor you should, with a ton of options around the same price and packing the same features. We've reviewed most of them, and these are the best OLED gaming monitors we've tested so far.

I just bought the Alienware QD-oled for 20% schoolwork 80% gaming, even though I'll still do basic care features like auto-hide taskbar/5 minute standby, it's great that it comes with 3 year burn-in warranty for peace of mind. OLED is king but I shouldn't have to be constantly anxious about using my nearly $1k monitor, which is why I think until another company introduces the same coverage, the Alienware will top the charts. In fact, I'm actually excited to see burn-in later down the road when this model is discontinued, since Dell might have no choice but to send me the updated version.

Check out RTINGS' OLED testing. Pretty impressive how the displays have kept up in poor conditions. Not that they aren't showing burn-in at all, but considering the nature of the tech it's pretty impressive.

@@RoyalBoyle78 HDMI 2.0 is certainly a turn off for console gamers, but I honestly wouldn't recommend an ultrawide in general for console use. Also, 1440p at 34 inches is the equivalent of 1440p at 27 inches, just with extra real estate at the sides, hence the resolution being 3440x1440.

bought the Alienware monitor last black Friday and I’m very happy with it. Image quality is very good. My only issue with it is the screen refresh every 4 hours cumulative use. I just consider it a breaktime to stretch during gaming sessions. Though you can ignore it or configure to run automatically on standby.

48" LG 4k OLED here bought in October '23 (48GQ900). It's been on sale at LG site a couple of times. 900$ on sale vs 1500$ list. Using Display Port with monitor set to 120 Hz (G-Sync on), the latest NVidia drivers would not let me set to uncompressed RGB output. Solved by setting to 95 Hz. Also by default the monitor Input capability was set to 1.4(DSC). This should be set to straight 1.4 instead. Does everything well and text is quite crisp even if text is pure red, green, or blue. Contrast so good and room it's in light controlled well enough that I've dropped Brightness down to 20 leaving default Contrast at 70. It's awesome monitor. GTX 1070 runs both the LG and a 32" 1440p HP very well. Possibly the 1070's DP port spec might be limiting the output to 120 Hz with compression or a max of 95 Hz without. 95 has suited just fine ..

I want to buy a monitor with good colors and hdr, but I have some concerns, I use my main monitor for work too that means browser is opened in 8-10 hours a day and I think that will kill oled in a few months. The second concern is that I use 32" monitor and I really used to it and 27" is a bit little for me, and since 34 or 49 ultrawide is just the same as 27" in height, that will be small too. So that means for me the only good buy is a 32" mini led display or an ultrawide verison of a 32" (like LG 45GR95QE, that is just a bit smaller than the 32" monitors but still oled). So please help me by answering that my 2 concerns are real, or I don't have to fear.

You have to mess with the settings for each game, which is definitely a pain, but you can get that monitor looking amazing for everything. I just chalk it up to being an early adopter. The extra effort is a small price to pay (after the big one...haha) for the amazing visuals. Sony seems to have figured it out, though. That's why I'm leaning towards the Sony A95L TV for next year. Having everything look great out of the box is probably worth the premium. I'm psyched to see the 2024 models.
I could never go back to non-OLED screen now. My current TV's days were numbered shortly after I hooked up my AW3423DWF. I fkn love it.

LG UltraGear 27" matte finish is actually really bad, it nullifies some of the extra contrast, color, and black levels you're supposed to get from OLED. The Alienware dwf comes with a semi-gloss finish which lets the OLED panel shine like it's supposed to, but for us non-ultrawide enjoyers it's a no-go. I hope in 2024 either LG makes a semi-gloss finish model, or Alienware releases a standard 27" model. Those would be my dream monitors!

Still can't recommend OLED for general PC use unless you play in the pitch black and are okay with 100 nits of brightness. MiniLED is better for PC use but for some reason they haven't made a lot of monitors with it outside of Apple products. TV's however there are a ton of them but you usually can't find them smaller than 42 inches. If you can deal with that size I'd recommend the QN90B or QN90C from Samsung.

Miniled just barely wins on daytime scenes but I couldnt stand the haloing in certain dark scenes, so QD OLED wins unless forced to game in a bright room

I love this channel but putting the LG above the ASUS shows this guy has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. I bought both and returned the LG because it is very dim. Like unusable in my opinion. The ASUS is MUCH brighter. Every other reviewer agrees the ASUS is far superior and worth the extra money. This is a big miss here. I wouldn’t recommend the LG to anyone. It’s not about the peak brightness being slightly higher, it is the OVERALL brightness in all scenarios that it is brighter. Full field white is almost double on the ASUS in SDR and HDR.
