@@matthiasdeo sadly couldn't shoot open gate as these are S35 only, but goes to show how versatile the LUMIX cams are as they have a S35 4:3 mode and it all looks great. I did try the focus pro (on the Komodo), was really impressed! After a bit of fiddling they worked really really well! Definitely a plus to have the lenses preset to load up too. I'll feature this in the review vid. Was hoping to take the focus pro setup back to the beach one day but alas the weather was too dicey.

Stunning work Ed!! The look of the Pavos is so beautiful, but it’s hard to put a finger on why. It’s almost like music and the way it can affect the listener, though they can’t give you an explanation.
Probably my favourite anamorphic lenses I've shot on to date. Haven't shot on the Remus or Mercurys yet, but I think the Pavos have a fantastic mix of character, manageable size and image quality.
@@EdProsseryes! A very sweet spot of sorts with these it seems. Hello, your video is incredible, could you give me some tips to protect the highlights, and get a perfect exposure, I think the highlights are my Achilles' heel on my s5iix.
I think it mainly comes with experience, but generally if you want to protect highlights make sure your pulling exposure down in camera to expose for the brightest object in frame. You can do this by adding ND, lowering the ISO or shooting in higher frame rates to increase shutter speed, or stopping down the lens. In this case I didn't have enough ND and we were shooting at midday with white clouds, so lens was stopped down usually to a T4 and everything is shot in 50fps so I could increase my shutter speed. I then occasionally checked the waveforms to see if anything was clipping. But after shooting on these cams for years you get a good feeling for when something is clipping or about to. The clouds are pretty much on the verge of clipping throughout, ideally I'd have had a bit more ND to give me a bit more safety.
Thank you - the music is from Audiio "Juniper Vale - Happy But Still Sad (How Do I Love You) Instrumental" Check the description if you want a 70% discount from your first year of a pro plan
@@EdProsser Nice. Thought it looked kind of familiar - we stayed in Porthmadog last year and explored some of that area. Was fun to visit Portmeirion where they filmed The Prisoner.
Lovely shots and cinematography. May I ask how much you expose shadow for expectable noise at native ISO’s? I shot something yesterday and found shadows very noisy?
I didn't have a proper ND system when shooting with this combo so I was really fighting the light, I was at around ISO 320 and T2.8-T4, so I was mostly over exposing hy a stop or two. If you're getting noise it sounds like your underexposing and / or have too high an ISO
@@EdProsserIn terms of noise I was at either 640 or 4000 and have found the noise higher than I’ve expected plus this is my 3rd camera which seem to be responding differently so I’ve contacted Lumix which so far has not been a good process.
Absolutely stunning imagery that plays so well with those lovely strings. Breathtaking!
thank you!
Beautiful!
Thanks Blaine!
The Pavos look amazing but I think the real star of the show here is your color grading. This looks absolutely amazing
Haha thanks Jake!
This looks absolutely stunning!
thank you man - was pleasantly surprised by how nice this pairing looked - very easy to shoot on too.
@@EdProsser for sure the 2x pairs very well with the s5iix open gate mode - did you get a chance to try it with the focus pro?

thanks - really impressed by this combo - the LUMIX S5 iiX is no slouch in S35 mode!
you're winning life, mate. you found a muse. stunning work.
Haha I'm very grateful for her patience!
Leave some talent for the rest of us mate, I beg of you 🤣 your grading is just exquisite
Haha thanks man!
second that. grading is 👌
Beautifully shot
Amazing shots Ed!!!
The Pavos 2X look very promising indeed!
Thanks for sharing, cheers.
Thanks! Review dropping tomorrow hopefully
Been waiting for this video!!! U never disappoint ed!
🫡 more to come from these lenses
looks good! Opening shot is stunning
Thanks!
Very nice as always my man! Aside from the grading, you always choose the appropriate amount of grain and size for every shot. Love it!
Thanks man! Always tweaking the grain to try and preserve it from the UA-cam compression musher
@@EdProsser Any tips with that? I constantly find when I upload guitar playthroughs the grain is almost non-existent once it hits YT

Love this more moody montage Ed!
We can thank the late summer Welsh weather for the moodiness

Thanks didn't have enough ND with me so was hard to keep it in check, was running it a little hot, but just about prevented clipping!
Brav fuggin Vo!! This is the perfect Combo!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Will be shooting a couple of projects with this union!! Thank ya sir!!!
They rock! The anamorphic IBIS really works a charm too!
Beautiful man! God I want to try these lenses!
I love them!
Nice one🙋🏻♂️
I liked the subtle grain texture what setting did you use? 🤠
Just used resolves in built grain I think 16mm 500T with increased saturation and grain size
stunning!!
Thanks
Great work!

Great stuff. How was the IBIS with the 32mm?
It seemed to be okay - esp. as we're in S35 mode so it's not stressing the IBIS system out too much
Great images! Was there any filters used in front of the lens?
Just a VND, I think added a little bloom and softening in post
can you show us how you graded this please
I'll try get a tutorial out soon
@@EdProsser 💘
very filmic. Any grading tip? any LUT or from scratch ?
I think this uses the Phantom vision and teal LUT as a base and then a whole range of custom nodes to reduce sharpness, boost colour density etc!
@@EdProsser thank you. The color density is perfect

I'm hoping too, all just using in built resolve grain and a high bit rate output.

Never too late! Thanks for giving it your time!
what fps is this shot, 60 slowmo?
50 FPS, mostly because I didn't have enough ND with me so it helped increase my shutter speed
