I remember getting very similar advice from a friend who ran. He said to run until you can't run, jog until you can't jog then walk until you can run again. I like your take of not making it a natural and easy movement by gradually increasing volume and getting used to it rather than going 100% and hating it.
I'm not really a runner, but I like watching you in motion, you're naturally athletic and easy on the eyes. One of my favorite hobbies is being at the park and watching all the cute guys go by running, walking, just being guys... it makes me so happy just to look at them, it's the highlight of my day...
Thank you for the advice! I’m the person that doesn’t like to run but very recently had the urge to get into running. Any advice on minimizing blisters formation?
Due to heel pain and plantar fasciitis I’ve had to switch from “support” sneakers to altras and it’s help more than the orthotics the doc recommended. I want to start running/sprinting but not sure if I should use barefoot style shoes or back to new balance or boost. I’m new to running and I’m heavy. Any advice will be appreciated.
I recommend Altra’s (escalante or solstice) for running for these situations when you’re already in pain. Relatively thick sole, wide toe box, and flat. Work in a lot of strength work for your feet while you’re sitting down, get as much blood flow and pain free movement to the feet as you can over time. It will aide in the recovery and soreness for running too! Stick with it. I believe in you. Let me know if I can help!
@@thebarefootsprinter thanks for the quick reply. Switching shoes and getting away from the orthotics alone made a huge difference in the pain I was having. I’m excited to see the results of the exercises you recommend. Heard you on Nick Bare’s podcast and you described exactly what my visit to the podiatrist was like.

It’s supposed to be fun. Not punishment.
Sincerely thank you for this. This was so straightforward

Can you give any advice on overcoming the runner's itch?
just properly warm up and just keep running consistently and it should go away
Thumbnail thirst-trap! :D
What do you think about backwards running/sprinting?
Running backwards is regularly programmed into my workouts!
Hi! What would you say to people wanting to start running with flat feet? Same regime? TIA!
To fix your flat feet with Grahamtuttle.com/RTR to run as much as your heart desires!
