There will be a number of teams not from L.A. or NY that will get some this year. If the team has a roster that can compete for a WS championship they can get some. The problem is the Giants roster isn't attractive.
Have people not watched the Giants in the past 20+ years? Who was the last big free agent pre-Farhan? Cueto? Barry Zito? Angel Pagan? Reggie Sanders? Edgardo Alfonzo? The team has never been able to sign big FA.
They were too busy winning 3 championships to concern themselves with outside superstars. You don’t need that big FA when you can develop your own star players like Posey, Madbum, Crawford, Sandoval, etc. Also, Sabean signed a lot of star players that helped them win. At the end of the day it’s all that matters. What did Zaidi do during the trade deadline last season? Jack diddly SQUAT while probably sitting around feeling sorry for himself before signing an injury prone vet who couldn’t even last a week….lol
@@ldo1308 Yeah, that sums in up. Barry Bonds 30 YEARS AGO. Vlad was the big fish that we missed and he went to the Angels. He won MVP that year. Not having the DH might have hurt a little back then. (Total disaster year since the Giants traded for Pierzynski that same offseason). Honestly, I don't even remember the other big free agents the Giants missed during the Zito FA year. I just remember being like WTF. How the f' did this happen? The Giants have never been a big FA destination. Obviously wasn't about "the city" back.
Man I'm tired of all the negativity🙄 I for one am looking forward to a fun upcoming season, with new coaching staff at the helm. The Giants have a great core of talented players, and some future star farm system players coming up the ranks. It's going to be a fantastic season, win or lose, and I intend to enjoy every moment. Relying on a "Superstar" player to be your team's savior, is a lesson in futility. Go Giants😁😁😁
The Giants aren't developing talent, their farm system sucks. Being that they can't get stars to come here, they need to develop from within, and they suck at doing that, especially on the offensive side of things. No big hitters coming up anytime soon....

I am not precisely hoping for Dodger injuries - in my gut I feel that even though they are stacking their team just watch injuries or age upend them - it is just a feeling I have and certainly I could be wrong I am not basing it on any tangible evidence. Put another way I think the baseball gods are going to bring the Dodgers back down to earth ... either that or they win 125 games.
