I had disowned my family 4 years ago. I hated them. I tried to forgive, but thought of the times they hurt me and hated them all over again! One day, I said a prayer: "Lord, help me love my enemies the way You do." Not long after Father's Day, I called my mom, forgave her, and asked her to forgive me. Soon after that, I reached out to my dad (the one who raised me). When my biological dad died, my baby sister called me, forgave me, and apologized. Unfortunately, my Grandmother had slipped into a coma and died about 2 weeks after I'd learned to forgive her. Trying to forgive on my own did not work. Asking God to let me see His flawed people the way He does did. I've been praying for my enemies ever since! 🥲
I'm having difficulty forgiving my enemies because of all the hurt they brought upon me. But as long I worship God and Jesus, my hatred towards them will subside. Amen. 🙏❤👏
Hatred is a sickness. Men were born forgiving. Children forgives each other all the time but as soon as they grew older they suddenly becomes vengeful. Do not hate for it is degrading to humans and we must all teach one another not to hate but to mend and fix broken hearts. Two people who hates each other will forget their hatred once they knew Christ for Christ is love. Two enemies will forget they were enemies once they knew what love really is. Hatred is a sickness and only Christ can heal us.

I remember when I was a very young Christian homeless on a bus in San Francisco there was a man sitting up next to the front with homeless too and he smelled like pee and there were people mocking them and there was a lady that said she was a Christian that she had the right to be on a bus without a smelly person and she was laughing at the man I told the man don't worry about it God loves you then I turned and told the lady I know of one who is able to turn mocking laughter into weeping and gnashing of teeth and she shut up quick after that and she looked angry looking back I remember the scripture that says Those Who mock the poor reproach their maker and those who Rejoice at Calamity will not go unpunished
I don't know exactly why but I'm getting a thought of praying for someone whom I seriously don't like at all.... I want to pray for them but the I don't want to too..... Pray for me that God gives me a heart to love the people whom I really don't like and pray for their problems in life
Most importantly is when we realize that we are redeemed with the highest price that is HIS HOLY BLOOD. We are valuable and loved in HIS eyes that HE went through all the tortures being beaten up, mocked and stripped naked for us. I am an atheist and I find it easy and peaceful to turn on the other cheek. My guess is it's who we are, not everyone is the same. I am telling you this, everytime I lower my head in the face of insults and offense, or even more, when I answer malevolence and wickedness with kindness and a smile, I end up being the winner. It's probably a way the world works, and it's an amazing philosophy Jesus Christ understood. I wish everyone did.
In my experience when I turned the other cheek, smiled or lowered my head it made the bully more aggressive. I think it's because they sensed weakness. When I fought back they left me alone. My problem is I don't want to fight anyone but I feel I have to because of human nature.

How on Earth do I love someone who hated me from the time I was a child? This person was an adult who married my father and used every oppurtunity she could to mock, criticize, and humiate me. She made a sport of it and the rest of the family joined in. My father used to go to work and she would walk forcefully through the house declaring "divide and concour"! I had no understanding of what was going on, just that it wasn't good and it hurt. She hasn't changed, only gotten worse. So many people think she is so wonderful....... the things she did to me were purposeful and soul destroying. It was never safe being alone with her. Without fail, she would run to the rest of the family claiming I had done or said something horrible when in fact it was she who had done the very thing to me. So, how does one love a person who deliberately did everything they could to destroy every relationship that you treasured? For her it was all for fun power and gain... smh

Another addition to what Jesus is teaching us here, is that regardless of our grievances, reservations, and standing, We worship God. We depend on Him. These things do not hold us, keep usm But He does. Of we put our trust in Him, as we should. There will be no space for fear to thrive. God will sustain us, and these matters that perturb us, will vanish in His care. So we should worship God, in thought and action. And, God will take all matters into his account, where He will be merciful to us, makings these troubles vanish. Amen. Not only is there reward in this, right in this, but also a testament to our faith God in His wisdom and strength, gives things to us that unite us in Him. In this light, these one fold commands, laws, have a thousandfold affect that united all of His sayings, acts into one. We received through Him boundlessly through even one action. Amen.
This lesson by Jesus was one of the top things that got my attention the most because at first, I didn't quite understand it (the first I heard about this lesson was around a decade ago by the time I made this comment), but then it hit me, throughout history, the patterns of conflict has always been the same, whether it be discrimination, edges of war, or just a simple or misunderstood hatred, the said pattern was always the same, and as it continues, it is also unknowingly repeated generation after another. And you want to know what's the hard fact in all of this, many people, even the ones in the social media world such as fandoms, will not and most likely never take this lesson lightly. I mean for my part, I eventually understood and acknowledged it, I just don't know about the others out there.

Clearly you do not understand the meaning of the parable of the ten minas in Luke 19:11-27. Jesus used this parable to teach what will happen during the time of his absence from the earth. It illustrates that there are faithful followers of Jesus who serve him until he returns. And then there are those who reject him, indicated in the parable by the Jewish nation that rejected him, and everyone who still denies Him today. Not exactly. Jesus was rejected by the Jews, but they did not have the authority to crucify him on their own accord. The land was under the authority of the Roman Empire, so the Jews needed the Roman leaders to accept their demand and execute judgement on their behalf. When Jesus says love your enemies he hates you just to let you know that cause when I was loving my enemies he told me to hate them and never speak to them again he saved me from going to hell you love your enemies you will burn in hell with them he will never save your enemies so if you side with them then you die with them them the words he told me in the future

I had disowned my family 4 years ago. I hated them. I tried to forgive, but thought of the times they hurt me and hated them all over again!
One day, I said a prayer: "Lord, help me love my enemies the way You do."
Not long after Father's Day, I called my mom, forgave her, and asked her to forgive me. Soon after that, I reached out to my dad (the one who raised me). When my biological dad died, my baby sister called me, forgave me, and apologized. Unfortunately, my Grandmother had slipped into a coma and died about 2 weeks after I'd learned to forgive her.
Trying to forgive on my own did not work. Asking God to let me see His flawed people the way He does did. I've been praying for my enemies ever since! 🥲

Hatred is a sickness. Men were born forgiving. Children forgives each other all the time but as soon as they grew older they suddenly becomes vengeful. Do not hate for it is degrading to humans and we must all teach one another not to hate but to mend and fix broken hearts.

I remember when I was a very young Christian homeless on a bus in San Francisco there was a man sitting up next to the front with homeless too and he smelled like pee and there were people mocking them and there was a lady that said she was a Christian that she had the right to be on a bus without a smelly person and she was laughing at the man I told the man don't worry about it God loves you then I turned and told the lady I know of one who is able to turn mocking laughter into weeping and gnashing of teeth and she shut up quick after that and she looked angry looking back I remember the scripture that says Those Who mock the poor reproach their maker and those who Rejoice at Calamity will not go unpunished

I am an atheist and I find it easy and peaceful to turn on the other cheek. My guess is it's who we are, not everyone is the same. I am telling you this, everytime I lower my head in the face of insults and offense, or even more, when I answer malevolence and wickedness with kindness and a smile, I end up being the winner. It's probably a way the world works, and it's an amazing philosophy Jesus Christ understood. I wish everyone did.
In my experience when I turned the other cheek, smiled or lowered my head it made the bully more aggressive. I think it's because they sensed weakness. When I fought back they left me alone. My problem is I don't want to fight anyone but I feel I have to because of human nature.

How on Earth do I love someone who hated me from the time I was a child? This person was an adult who married my father and used every oppurtunity she could to mock, criticize, and humiate me. She made a sport of it and the rest of the family joined in.
My father used to go to work and she would walk forcefully through the house declaring "divide and concour"!
I had no understanding of what was going on, just that it wasn't good and it hurt.
She hasn't changed, only gotten worse. So many people think she is so wonderful....... the things she did to me were purposeful and soul destroying. It was never safe being alone with her. Without fail, she would run to the rest of the family claiming I had done or said something horrible when in fact it was she who had done the very thing to me.
So, how does one love a person who deliberately did everything they could to destroy every relationship that you treasured? For her it was all for fun power and gain... smh

Another addition to what Jesus is teaching us here, is that regardless of our grievances, reservations, and standing, We worship God. We depend on Him. These things do not hold us, keep usm But He does. Of we put our trust in Him, as we should. There will be no space for fear to thrive. God will sustain us, and these matters that perturb us, will vanish in His care.
So we should worship God, in thought and action. And, God will take all matters into his account, where He will be merciful to us, makings these troubles vanish. Amen.

This lesson by Jesus was one of the top things that got my attention the most because at first, I didn't quite understand it (the first I heard about this lesson was around a decade ago by the time I made this comment), but then it hit me, throughout history, the patterns of conflict has always been the same, whether it be discrimination, edges of war, or just a simple or misunderstood hatred, the said pattern was always the same, and as it continues, it is also unknowingly repeated generation after another.
And you want to know what's the hard fact in all of this, many people, even the ones in the social media world such as fandoms, will not and most likely never take this lesson lightly. I mean for my part, I eventually understood and acknowledged it, I just don't know about the others out there.

Clearly you do not understand the meaning of the parable of the ten minas in Luke 19:11-27. Jesus used this parable to teach what will happen during the time of his absence from the earth. It illustrates that there are faithful followers of Jesus who serve him until he returns. And then there are those who reject him, indicated in the parable by the Jewish nation that rejected him, and everyone who still denies Him today. There are promised rewards for those who are faithful in their charge. And those who reject him will be utterly defeated when Jesus returns to establish his kingdom. In a nutshell, verse 27 states that It does not pay to fight against the King of kings.

Not exactly. Jesus was rejected by the Jews, but they did not have the authority to crucify him on their own accord. The land was under the authority of the Roman Empire, so the Jews needed the Roman leaders to accept their demand and execute judgement on their behalf. Pilate said three times that he found no guilt in Jesus, but ultimately left the decision up to the Jewish chief priests and their servants, and delivered Jesus over to their will.

When Jesus says love your enemies he hates you just to let you know that cause when I was loving my enemies he told me to hate them and never speak to them again he saved me from going to hell you love your enemies you will burn in hell with them he will never save your enemies so if you side with them then you die with them them the words he told me in the future
