- Join me in tickling my Jinjer fancy once more! Suzie was not a fan of these metal giants, so I took some time to really appreciate this live performance of 'DEAD HANDS FEEL NO PAIN'.
I was not expecting this foursome to be so tight and musically gifted in this video.

Well Vlad started as a classical pianist then went to guitar in another band and then drums. I think the split stick technique is just a natural for him because piano players rarely cross their hands when they play and hand independence is pretty important.
Tatiana does have a few voice care rules but not as many as you might expect. Some of the bad habits she's had in the past have been related to her nature of being introverted and having anxiety under pressure and yet being in a band that tours world wide with a pretty enthusiastic (if not large enough) fan base. Which is why as much as I love the band and admire the members I have mixed feelings about them getting so popular that the trappings of all that takes a toll on them as people.

Generally, every musician is influenced in some way, but I personally try not to compare it with bands but with musical genres.

Their influences are Lamb of God, Opeth and 19th century classical, although Vlad does admire Tomas from Meshuggah and Eloy.
Thank you for reacting to this glorious, under-appreciated track. I *love* the vocal melodies, the intricate legato guitar arpeggios, the nasty dissonant chords & the beautiful interplay between bass & guitar. JW Soundworks aptly compared the guitar arpeggios to a Paganini violin piece. Tatiana's wedding of these haunting vocal melodies to those immaculate, complex guitar licks is well nigh miraculous.
I'm so glad that they chose to perform this piece for the Audiotree From Nothing video as it deserves more attention than it gets. The whole video is awesome.

She's talking about crows circling above a dying person, waiting to dine on the corpse.

My favorite band ever since 2017 I saw their Pisces live session on UA-cam. Close second is Wintersun which you should definitely check out. Time I is very loved album and they just released Time II after 12 long years. Their playing is stellar and Jari’s compositions are just mind blowing. He does also vocals and used to play rhythm guitar as well. Good starting point: Sons of Winter and Stars (live rehearsal @Sonic Pump Studios).

5:47 - The tuning they use since the King of Everything album is drop A. Before that they tuned to drop C.
8:35 - The thing that sets Vlad apart from other drummers is that, because he's self-taught, he doesn't have the "habits" that other drummers usually have. Plus, he envisions music like a guitarist and composes like a pianist, probably never like a drummer. That's what makes his style so unique. 😀

I always thought of Jinjers as a jazz band that plays metal. You never know what to expect with Jinjer they are extremely progressive and play both in and outside the box.

Ibanez? No man Roman is endorsed by Jackson since 2022, before that OD, before that ESP. If you haven't done Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev what are you waiting for. You haven't even scratched the surface of their talent. Dmitry their former drummer did the audio mixing at this concert and many other famous live gigs for them. You'll be mind blown at the sound quality, it's one of the best live vids on You Tube.He left cause Jinjer tours a crazy amount and it wasn't for him. His work on the King of Everything album can't be dismissed he's awesome too. Vlad joined in 2015, he the longest tenured drummer in the band.

He was never endorsed, so to speak, by ESP. The one he recorded King of Everything with and kept using until he bought the Venus (and the Rhea) belonged to Dmitry Oksen. I guess he sold it to Roman when he left the band. 🙂

Dmitry seems to have regarded himself as a stand-in drummer for King of Everything. He didn't want to commit to playing live on tour. Although he's not Vlad, he was excellent on the album.
@@johnbriggs3916 - He replaced Mantulin in September 2014 and left in June 2016, so all in all he was much more than just a "stand-in" for the record.
