Hey, I don't know if you read comments but I wanted to thank you for putting such effort into this channel and your videos. I have problems sleeping and when I put a playlist of your videos I've already seen on it's soo easy to fall asleep. I know that sounds weird to say HI! I fall asleep to your videos... But only the ones I've seen while awake. They are just so soothing and I love the care you put into them. So thank you! You make amazing pieces every time.
Thank You Patricia, I read all the comments and try to answer them all, although I do not get notifications on replies, I don't normally know about them unless I scroll back through all the comments to find them. I've been told this before, my videos are so boring they put people to sleep !!! lol just kidding, I am glad I can help and appreciate the views. even if you are sleeping, Doug
@@PohlBarnProductions Never boring! Calming! And I only put the ones I've seen already on and let it autoplay. I wanna see the process and the final product!!!
I love the way you shaped it, like a tsunami surrounding two islands. The resin is beautiful, you can see all the colors that you put in there. Great job Doug!
Yeah Doug that is beautiful your eye for colours is spot on. Such a gorgeous bowl, it doesn't deserve your criticism and neither do you. It's fabulous! 👍👏
You make.such beautiful things. Please don't sell yourself short. I love watching the good and and ugly and seeing mistakes and imperfections helps others. Nothing should be perfect! I love your giggles and chuckles and your passion for your art.
That was the first time I heard you on the phone, Doug. 😂 You make very beautiful things and even you were a little disappointed, I think it looks stunning! I'm not a wood turner, but I recognize something when it's beautiful and this is beautiful. Thank you for sharing, my friend and have a wonderful weekend. 👍👍👍
no you hear me on my phone ever week you just don't know it, I do all my outro videos at the sticker board from my phone, that way I am forced to look at it instead of the monitor across the room, I hated when I edited and I was looking over there and not at the camera,
Mr Doug I am the one that purchased the bowl and man that thing is just as beautiful as it was when you finished it.....my mom is gonna be happy for it because I got it for her as a birthday gift which I plan on giving her this weekend... thank you for the work you put into all the pieces you have done I will be buying from you again.... ty great job
😘😘 it's stunning. Please make something with the shavings I'm sure it will be awesome. Thanks Doug for my kisses they really did make me feel happy also thank you Mrs Doug AKA the boss for being so very gracious in allowing the kisses💋🙏
Cool blue and golden wood, very peaceful. I don't know why YT decided not to put your videos on my feed, but am very glad to have found them again and moved them to the top
I do love the color contrast, and the dark blue with the pearly and white swirls is about my favorite use of that color combination yet. It did turn into more of an island bowl than a river, just because of the shape of the wood pieces. If you were to be 'cheeky,' you could even call it the Bikini Bottom Bowl. 😁 Thanks for sharing your art.
I loved this video! The colors you chose were beautiful! The bowl itself is gorgeous! I love the color blue, for a while the colors as you shaped the bowl gave the look of Saturns rings. Loved the one lone resin string hanging on the camera. Had me laughing when you finally saw it. Loved being in the workshop today. Have a great weekend!
This turned out fantastic!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Also I was chuckling over how there was a strand of resin on the camera for over a minute before you noticed it!!! 😂
Great looking piece. If you want to get rid of those rings you might try starting sanding with 60 grit as it really does some cutting. I always thought it to be too course, but it does a job on them. Nice turn, Lee
I like your colors and form, Doug. I just re turned a big spalted Birch bowl that had so many problems. Made it better, but still had a few circles on the bottom. Hand made, as you said. I liked the view from the top of the bowl down, but when you had it upside down to put your logo in there all I could think was that it looked like somebody sat on a photo copier. :) Have a great weekend!
I'm sad 😟😢😭 because we are broke. I spent $$ on a funeral urn for my Niece. Otherwise I really would beg you to sell me this. I love love LOVE it! Those colors! The bright wood & blue/green resin! A few swirls in the inside finish cannot detract from it's beauty.😁😄😃😀 Great job! Also, that tomato sauce looked so yummy!
Flaws and all its still a beautiful bowl doug! I'm so jealous you got your hands on some osage! I have the promise of some that should be coming this fall after deer season if all goes well! I absolutely loved turning it in the past and can't wait to turn more of it!
Thank You Chase, I've been sittin on those pieces since the lockdowns started, I was suppose to do a collab with another channel, but they were silenced by youtube I think, can't find that channel anywhere, glad I actually didn't do it at this point,
Doug another beautiful piece of art. The blue reminds me of an electrifying ocean blue you inly see in paradise pictures of tropical places you want to or wish you could visit. So soothing and peaceful. I love it. Thank you and if I had extra $$$ I would buy it off you if you were selling it of course 😃 Have a wonderful Labor Day and don't melt (if hot in your neck of the woods unlike here in Southern California) and will comment on next week's video like always.
It's great. Beautiful, but if you find that finish that is easy to apply, covers everything and lasts long term. Don't tell anyone or they will stop making it. I love the colors and you nailed it.
Really pretty bowl Doug! Yep, its called a few different things here in Tornado Alley....OH Sage orange (although not too often), Bois d Arc (bo dark), or just plain old hedge. The fruits of those trees are hedgeapples. Only thing ive seen try to eat a hedgeapple are cows. Ive heard theyll get em stuck in their throats and choke. Anyway, the old farmers would try to find as straight a tree as possible, and cut fence posts and corner posts from em. Dont wait too long to build the fence, or the staples are almost impossible to hammer in. The wood gets harder the older it gets. VERY insect and rot resistant. You probably knew all this, so its useless info! Did I mention that bowl is really pretty? Well, it is. The yellow in the wood should darken to an orange/brown. (Unless the resin prohibits it, I dunno). Anyway. PRETTY BOWL!😊❤👍
Well I think it looks great, Doug! I’m the same way though when it comes to perfection. I hate the flaws, but my wife says the same, it shows that it’s hand made. That doesn’t help, though. 😁 another beauty👍🏻
(Oh-sage) Osage Orange is some of the densest, hardest wood on earth...figured you'd be dulling tools left and right. We call it "hedge" here in KS/MO. Bowl came out nice, well done.
Thank You Brent, I know it's also called bodark or something like that but I didn't know how to spell it ! lol and it did dull my tools more than other woods
