Good pick! I think EDF is pretty fun though I think I normally check out around the 4th or 5th level as I get tired of dying. But I always enjoy the first 3 levels or so. Also nice that you get to show off the Freakade.

Great to see the Freakade in action! E.D.F was so good it released twice on Evercade, Jaleco Collection 1 has the SNES version and it's a little easier than the arcade version. Both great games. I never played it before until Evercade, very pleased with both my purchases lol. I went with homing missiles so to hit those suckers that get above & below you.
Making a Freakade to give away is crazy lol. You'd be better off making a new one using a 21inch screen and documenting it as you go so people can follow to make their own.
Your new build sounds intriguing, digital pinball machine? Or a vertical Tate cab for some Toaplan action? 😀
Good pick out of the retro basket and nice run on E.D.F, cheers Game Freak!!

That Alpha deluxe should be $150 shipped.....no more.
    I would've preordered instantly.

I agree! $150 should have been the max. No more than that. My two player 1up bartop arcade was only $150. The price on the Alpha is highway robbery in my eyes.

Yeah, that Evercade bartop price is too high for me , but I like the idea . Earth Defense Force is a sweet game !!!!

Yeah, that price point is absolutely ridiculous. WTF was Evercade thinking?

I think the big thing about the Alpha is that the Standard Editions will do for most people. Sanwa components on such a small form factor is kinda a waste and the extra controller isn't needed if you already have a VS as the OG controller will work just fine. The additional marquee inserts are more of an added bonus than needed. I think most people will be making their own custom marquee art :-) I guess the £199 GBP pre-order price is ok but certainly no more than that. Keep up the awesome work!

Not to beat a dead horse because I know we've talked about the Alpha before but you're right on with the price point. I wasn't interested regardless but $150 - 175 sounds like Evercade's range. The $250 to 320 (if you want the beefed version) and you're once again competing with Switch and Xbox S which doesn't make sense.

I've been busy watching the summer game fest stuff. It's going to be going on for days. Great stuff is being announced. Did you hear about the Alan wake 2 news? Yea the Alpha isn't cheap.

I need to catch up on watching that. Alan Wake is a great game! Haven’t played the second one yet.
