Your videos are great, concise, informative without all the bullshit of people that just like the sound of their own voice. Thank you
Glad you liked them
I dont see no link for the parts ?
Really helpful videos! I have an xr400 and I'm wondering how do I know which amperage rectifier I need? I'm estimating about 60-80 watts of leds I wanna run and I'm gonna use a capacitor of 35v 1000uf and had a rectifier saved in my cart with 50a and 1000v rating, is that too much? Will this combo work?
I just had to research this video for a buddy of mine with a wr450 .great explanation. Night riding season is coming up soon
Yeah for me the best light was helmet light
@@vegasromaniac hey i have a 06 yamaha yz250f and was wondering what i need to get a full light kit i want to make it street legal and need turn signals and lights can the stock stator handle this?
Great video! Great explanation!!
Straight forward and simple. Please keep up the hard work
My fathers an electrician. I'm a millwright. I understand simple electronics but always wanted to learn more
Thanks for watching
I want to try it with my rxz135 headlight it has ac current and want to make it brighter without flickering too.. maybe add some cob led stripes :)
AC-bridge rectifier (with capacitor )-LED light. or AC- rectifier-voltage regulator -LED light.
Great vid. You explained it so well. So directly and practically.
i have a china atv witch suppose runs the light on dc light but the head light and the brake broken so i wanna switch to led eight now i think it dc cause the light runs only when bike it running and get more more when u hit the gas
Thanks for posting this. I've watched a few of your other videos about LEDs but this one sums things up nicely.
Your input from the AC is it both positive. The12vac to dc3am i bought it said positive input on both, then ground and positive output for dc side. So we just twisted he wires together and tied to the power line going to tail light on ATC 250r trike. trying to do a led whip
thanks man this realy helped me a lot
Y'all got any links to that capacitor?
I love that you've done the same video like.. 4 times now? and each time it gets better! I'm gonna try this on my atc 200x Honda. I wanna use it for getting around at night on my property.
The more I explain it the better it gets
Do you know will this method run one of those plug and play LED headlight bulbs?
i have a old xl 350 from 1985 it has a small 12v battary with 3 ah what capacitator would be best for my 150-200w front led light ?
I know this video is old but would you need to run rectifier and capacitor for both high and low beam circuits ie 2 rec's and 2 cap,s?
How do I add this circuit to low beam and high beam?
Hey good video, I'm doing this with my snowblower
Glad I was able to give you some guidance
I dont see the light you have in the description
With 55wat headlight what cap should I use?
When increas the rpm voltage is up to 100V DC How to regulate the voltage
What damage would it do to the motorcycle had you not added these components?
Where do i find the link to the rectifier and capacitor? Thanks!
old video but ebay is full of them
I have a ktm lc4 620 and it already has a rectifier, i have install a chinese led bulb on the headlight but she has died, do i need any stabilizer or anything? I dont know if its only plug and play or i need to do anything, by the way i need another led
Hi there, great video! Was it a DC or AC Capacitor that you used to stop LED Fluctuations? Cheers!
What is the pro & con switching original AC to DC on motorbike?
Since it's originaly design to use AC. I'm asking because I'm going to switch the current on my motorcycle due to the poor headlight issues.
LEDs don't work on AC needs dc
@@vegasromaniacYes we can now. Osram had produced LED can be used for both AC/DC. But with AC the bulb will flickering and not able to produce max brightness...
Thank you so much for posting this video! Helped me out a ton!!
great video mate
I want add the same as i have xr 250r 1999 but my prob is do i need to do the same method ?
This is just the basic guidelines, once you understand the video yiu will decide if this works for your bike, if you need to ask me than I can't tell you because I don't know that bike... But the principle is the same
Hi, this is a great video! Thank you for posting. So, converting DC to AC power is the same as connecting LED lights directly to the battery? I've had all kinds of problems with my bike's lights ever since I 'upgraded' to LEDs. I thought upgrading the shape from 8-pole to 11-pole; just caused more problems. I'm thinking of just moving the lights off the main harness direct to the battery. What do you think? I'm grateful for any advice from you or anyone else on here. Thank you.
So what you did ?
I have 35 amp 1000 voltrectifire, 35 volt 100000mf capacitor... will this work? Can i connect both negative rectifire connection to the body?
Nope you can't... They are separate.. Do not connect negative to the frame
Nice video. BTW I got 1979 Jawa with 12v alternator. One wire from alternator directly goes to headlight so my question is can I take that supply and convert it to DC and connect led fog lights? If yes then how much volt/watt led lights are adviced ? Thank you
Can't tell you for that bike, I have no clue what that bike puts out.. As wattage on the stator
what capacitor size did you use ?
Nice video.
can i use 4x in4007 diode against rectifier??
Hi, theres a mod to make the statoer on the wr450 all dc, you just need a better regtifier for it afterwards
The stator can never be DC. The rectifier converts it from AC to DC.
@@GrimReaper-ly8zk obviously the stator itself is ac, but that wasnt the point
@@JensEskildsen I guess you can't comprehend your own comment then.
Seems like youre the only one that didnt understand it, so I'll gladly explain what i meant, but it seems like youre just here to argue..
The stator ourput is ac, but not all of that is converted to dc, you can mod the stator to do so, this way you have more dc available to charge the battery, run a fan and led lights.
Why dont we disguss it further in MY native language now? 😙
@@GrimReaper-ly8zk i didnt make up the terminology, but its commonly accepted as modifying the stator to dc. You're gonna loose it when you realise the swiss cheese mod for the clutch involves no lactose, and that you dont actually midify an O-ring for the O-ring mod 😁😁😁
Its just easy to read/understand catchphrases, for theese types of tricks.
Happy riding 😀
Is there more power draw when you use a capacitor?
No it should not
Hello what are the characteristics of the capacitor? Volt and UF microfarads
Sorry i'm french , thank you🙂🙂
Need to be at least 24 v and 1000 microfarads for good results
@@vegasromaniac thank you my friend 🙂🙂🙂
@@vegasromaniac why 1000 micrinofarad? in the video it's a 6800 microfarads? what is the difference in result?
Thank you
Hey Vegas. I'm interested in doing what you did with the headlight mod but I don't see the 40watt LED unit on Amazon and I also don't see the link in the description. Is this unit no longer available on Amazon?
Yeah that's an old video. Also they were too powerful so they got categorized under work lights
Hi can i ask id i have ay 2pcs led bulb 6 and 5 watts can i ask if what capacitor are we going to used
The bigger you can fit the better... They always flicker a but, more capacitor less flickering
Would I need to create more than one of these circuits for an entire bike lighting system? (Headlights Taillights blinkers) Or can I just create one of these circuits from power source to run everything?
then you dont need this to ac dirtbike, you need ignition swith and battery so when swiths on battery gives dc to your leds
Great video, very helpful! thanks!
Please tell me scooter Honda Activa headlamp normal filament it works on AC or DC voltage? lot of it mechanics tell regulates voltage for headlamp by the voltage regulator or rectifier too is it true?
Sorry I'm not familiar with that bike
It okey Thanks
How do i know what size cap will i need? I am going to power 18w led with diode rectifier and regulator
The bigger the better... That's the best way to look at it, there is no cap size calculator
Vegas RoManiac So i dont break anything if i use bigger or smaller caps if the voltage rating is like 50v. What size would you recommend? Is 3300uF 25V cap enough for the circuit? And betterer way to put the recitifer and cap before 12v regulator? Thanks for answer!
Vegas RoManiac Or should i use 63v 6800uf cap instead?
Hey i saw your video i have one question my scoter headlight works on engine power ac current soo it will work what u have shown in video?
did it work? im going to try this with the ac power on my snowmobile
Hey man where did you get the capacitor from? I have a ssr 125cc pitbike I'm doing a led light on and in looking for a capacitor but idk where to even find one. Does it matter what kind of capacitor it is? I'm running a 12v 6" led light I have the rectifier already just need the capacitor. So idk what to look for or anything
Did you ever find what type of capacitor you used?
I got my capacitor off of Amazon it was a 25w 10000mah I think but so far when I put that in I haven't had issues with my light at all. Flickering stopped it's brighter then it was I have a 2nd dairy bike light I got off Amazon too just so I have more light on the trail with my headlight and that the trails lit like a Christmas tree
VERY Cool, you are my moto man! Thanks.
Hi man i saw your video online about how to hook up a led light to ac current. My question is i have a snowmobile im trying to get led headlights to work on. I want to know what size bridge rectifier i need and what size capacitor i need. Sled is 12 volts and the led lights i have are 80 wats. I have 2 bulbs.
Can u give me some help?
I have install on my 110cc motorcycle a led light . When it has low rpm it is flickering but when i am running it is ok. Is this harmful for my led ?
First off I’m a huge fan, love the vids and the product reviews. I need help with my 2 strokes lighting. It’s a 1994 Yamaha WR250Z, it comes stock with a 35 watt lighting coil and I’ve only found 45 watt in the aftermarket so I don’t have much to choose from. I’m making this bike street legal and I’m using an all L.E.D. system, what can I do for powering these lights? Can I use a battery/batteries from an rc car? What do I do? Any help is well appreciated, thank you.
Battery works but it burns it fast, you get 2 hour max
Vegas RoManiac what kind of voltage should my battery put out? I see anywhere from 7.4 volts to 11.1 volts when I look up batteries. I am looking at RC type battery packs to keep the size and weight down. I have no problem buying several batteries to keep backups as this will be a street legal build.

This vidoe is so old they got discontinued
thanks for the follow up.
i think i found them.
