The sound the motorcycle made while accelerating and spinning its tires in the theater took me back to why I go! and that moment wasn't alone there were many thunderous moments. The fact this movie kinda bombed is insane... it was a perfect theater going experience.
The level of dedication and craftsmanship is breathtaking but it’s also a fact that a lot of these shots ended up looking artificial and not as „grounded“ as George specifically wanted them to be. And I think this peak behind the scenes helped me understand that this may have been a compromise for ensuring the safety of the stuntmen. I think Fury Road had more „manageable“ stunts and therefore didn’t need to be touched that much in post, while Furiosa had much more crazy stunts in concept, which in consequence required much more safety rigging, wires or studio shots that later had to be polished and edited with CGI.
