Saw this in the theater the other day and the musical score really struck me - literally. I found my insides shaking numerous times when the music was ramping up. It was moving, for sure.

I’m so glad they mentioned the musical score in this video. Especially when they talked about focusing on the violins. One of the opening pieces features the strings increasing speed while the brass have longer supporting notes. To me, this piece was used to describe progress as the team was progressing in their research/experiments. I was completely blown away by how wonderful it all fit.
Agreed. Ludwig's score just makes your insides throb when paired with each scene. The production level on this film is unreal. Everyone involved should be extremely proud.
Oppenheimer was without a doubt the BEST film of 2023 so far. Nolan proves that not only can he conquer, science fiction and comic book films but he can handle high paced dramas as well as the best directors. Even Quentin Tarrantino absolutely LOVED Oppenheimer and stated so several times!

@@1olp1 Agreed, but there are two types of confusion regarding the movies. One is when the story has many holes, or is told very poorly, and the other is when the story is complex. Almost all Nolan movies I've watched is the second one. Think of TENET. Great cast, amazing visuals. But firstly the science is a bit tough to wrap your head around (entropy, etc.), and secondly the timeline confuses people. Now, the rating implies that it is not very well taken by the audience, which I get it. You don't have to like it if you are there to be entertained. But for people like me, it is appreciating to experience what he has to offer. I had to watch almost an hour of UA-cam videos regarding entropy to fully understand the physics behind the "time travel". But the beautiful part for me is that every time you watch any of his movies, you pick up new things you never saw before. It's the same movie, but a different experience. I love this interaction with his work, the fact that I can talk about them for hours, the fact that it's not just a movie. It's the portrayal of an idea. I love John Wick as well don't get me wrong. Sometimes I just wanna sit and enjoy a good action sequence. But this, this is more than a movie. I watched Oppenheimer 7 times, only the last time on IMAX, and I can't watch this at home. The experience is just phenomenal...
Hoping Cillian and RDJ win their well deserved Oscars because their performances were phenomenal. Emily Blunt also delivered, the whole cast did. Still not over this film 😭😭
I can see this doing well for Oscars next year. Best Actor Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor Robert Dowey Junior and Best Supporting Actress Emily Blunt. Best Picture. Best Director. All the cast were outstanding.

I think a huge part of appreciating Christopher Nolan's films is hearing about and seeing the production behind them. Like watching these films are an incredible experience alone, but I think another chunk of appreciating the masterpiece also comes from knowing the difficulties of filming in IMAX and creating practical effects. The weight of the entire crew coming together to create his vision is just sooo impressive.
Nolan's films are the reason I still buy Blu-ray because I get the great visual quality and the special features. I have watched all the SF for 'Interstellar' and I hope 'Oppenheimer' has the same.
I was surprised that it was done by Ludwig Göransson. I really fell in love with the music he did for Community back when his career started. Glad his talent got him so far.
I am a history professor. Saw Oppenheimer and loved it. If you watched the movie and wonder "Did that really happen?" I made a new video on my channel answering many of those questions. Happy to share. Every historical movie embellishes some things. But overall it was very spot on. People often ask did he really try to poison his tutor?
I saw it Friday night and not an hour has gone by 48 hours later that it hasn't creeped back into my brain. I am both psychologically and viscerally arrested. No movie has shook me to my core like that since.....Silence of the Lambs 4 thousand years ago. 🤯
Spoilers: the feeling of the long and winding dread Oppenheimer felt after he detonated the bomb was really well captured by the sound, shots, performance and especially the longevity of the tensions. It was in this moment it felt more than a movie. You wanted it to be over, but you're still on the edge of your seat.
Cillian (kill-ee-in) Murphy looks emotionless in interviews sometimes. He’s a mood, and I love him. He’s such a good actor and him in Oppenheimer was incredible. After leaving the theatre, I asked my father when we would go see it a second, third, and 100th time… 😅 Listening to the musical score gives me life. I love it so much. My favorite song from the score has got to be Can You Hear The Music. It’s just so beautiful, and it helps me relax and brings me joy to just hear. I listen to it at night, and I probably shouldn’t. I love it so much, that instead of falling asleep to it, I stay bright awake because I feel the need to stay awake and listen. 😂
I know I might get some hate for this, but I think the scoring are the worst parts of Nolan's films. It's not that the compositions are bad or the composer is not good: he does very technically and precisely what Nolan asks for. But that's the issue. While Nolan is doing utmost impressive and out there stuff such as making a 3 hour long movie on someone as complex as Oppenheimer, shot entirely on IMAX, with a script that talks about quantum physics written in first person, mixing colour and black and white scenes, doing practical effects on location with both atomic explosions and quantum physics, having unbelievable video editing and never seen before sound design, he STILL insists on having those same generic "epic" Hans Zimmer style scores every movie for the past decade, especially after Inception. I mean, how many times do we still have to hear those "epic" emotional horns? Or those "ticking" anxiety percussions with crescendi? Or those same minor progressions and arpeggios mixing orchestra and vst? I know it's interesting, but maybe the composers should be allowed to have more personality, experiment more, risk more, do something insane, just like he's doing visually. Take Kubrick for instance. The guy was using Bartok, Ligeti, even Stravinsky, for scores! Now, in the movie, you see Oppenheimer himself listening to Stravinsky (of whom he was a fan in real life, having asked for Stravinsky's Requiem Canticle - an avant-garde piece - to be played at his funeral, which did happen), going to Picasso's expositions, having mental breakdowns and visions, having trouble in his personal life, trying to invent new things, inventing the atomic bomb and Nolan thinks the "right" scoring for that must be, for the 138838th time, either Hans Zimmer-like or minimalist? Makes no sense to me. Edit: by the way, I'm not necessarily saying that all scores should necessarily be avant-garde to the point of being completely niche. There are shows such as "Dark" that have strong, experimental, "non-blockbustery" scores that have stuck with the general public very well. If the public can take all of those unusual and provocative elements from Nolan's innovations, I think the score, in the same way, should not be conformist and more of the same.

Idk seems like you and I heard two very different scores, there’s a lot of emphasis on the violin in this score which you can hear in the film and it’s a point that Ludwig and Nolan tried to implement to compliment Oppenheimer. Pretty sure I didn’t hear those intense horns with the scenes with Kitty or Jean or any of the softer moments. Listen to “a Lowly Shoe Salesman”, “Quantum Mechanics”, “Meeting Kitty” or “Oppenheimer” because they’re all different than the generic epic loud Nolan/Zimmer sound as you describe it. While we’re at it, let’s ask Spielberg to stop with the John Williams crap or Hitchcock to stop with the Bernard Herman nonsense. Directors are allowed to stick with what they like.

Anyway, I didn't say the score is bad. Quite the contrary. I just said that it doesn't challenge the viewer at all and it doesn't match the dense, complex and troubling essence of the movie that could be expressed in so many other ways. If one can take in all of Nolan's complexities, densities and contradictions for 3 hours, being on the verge of what can be done on film, but thinks tonal arpeggios on a violin or emotional horns are up there with that, I can only hardly disagree. Check out the piece I recommended, "requiem canticles" by Stravinsky - the piece that Oppenheimer, being so troubled, loved and asked for it to be played at his own funeral - and you'll may understand where I'm coming from. Edit: by the way, mentioning John Williams and Bernard Herrmann does nothing against what I said. These two were always allowed to experiment, be complex and go beyond musical clichés whenever it would fit the movie. Just listen to the "Vertigo" soundtrack, or even "Star Wars" or "E.T.", for that matter.

Bravo and Salute to Director Mr. Christopher Nolan and all the actors and actresses participated in this film. Superb acting all around ! @@lokio1890 Dark Knight, Interstellar, and Inception imo (I LOVE Dark Knight Rises with its flaws as well). I still have to watch Memento soon. Honestly, while Oppenheimer was a good movie, I found it to be less impressive in the filmography of Nolan. Better than Dunkirk, probably Tenet too (although I'll rewatch it soon), but The Prestige, Dark Knight Trilogy, Interstellar, and Inception were all better imo.
Oppenheimer was made for our hearts. For our knowledge. When I saw it a week ago I felt myself so proud. I can see this masterpiece in a real life, I can expand my knowledge of history.This is so incredible. Bravo, mr. Nolan!
I wouldn't say it's for our hearts. It's a cautionary tale about technology. I mean the scientist thought that the explosion might be so big it set the atmosphere on fire and destroyed the Earth yet they did it anyways.. Christopher Nolan has even said it's a cautionary tale about AI and hopes it makes some people second guess pushing forward so fast. While technology isn't inherently good or evil, this was something that just didn't need to happen or ever be used but hey, war, am I right? AI "could" turn out bad even if the people who make it have good intentions in mind, similar to a nuclear bomb. I don't think we are anywhere close to AI taking over although one of the lead engineers at Google quit because he said their AI was literally scaring him as it started talking about killing humans. Now, it's his word against Google's but I don't think most people give up a probably several million a dollar year salary for 15 minutes in the spotlight either so who knows but he did make it clear that this story mirrored the potential dangers of AI.
The trinity test, and the sonic boom thereafter, made me jump. Absolutely terrifying. This is a horror film. Make no mistake. My immediate reaction was “That was a lot.” I loved every second of it.
What Nolan did was quiet clever actually. We see some great looking effects at the start, when Oppie is imagining the light burst and the ball of fire in his mind, but the detenation scene itself was very brief, as the real one would have been. That's the sickner. All that work by those great scientific minds, delving into an exciting new branch of physics and all they did was make device that blows itself up once. That's the big take home for me. The implications were massive, but the event itself was momentary. That's even more frightening.
Just a phenomenal movie! I saw it a week ago and can't stop thinking & talking about it. It's such an intelligently told story about an extraordinary event in history.
That orgiastic editing, right after Trinity, with the bleachers... omg, that's when I really started crying. Best Sound Design Oscar is def going to Oppenheimer.
The interviews were so awesome! I love how similar some of their responses were! Shows you that Nolan is really good at what he does and is good at conveying what he wants done and how he wants something to turn out and how good it *does* turn out because it’s so evident how brilliant it is.
It's been one week till i saw it for a second time and I wanna watch it again. It is an unbelieveble masterpiece. The movie litterally got me shaking and I can't put into words how beautiful it is. Such an amazing experience.
One of the best, if not thee best, Nolan movies and Murphy performances ever including the supporting cast, incredible experience !! The movie is shot with a great pace, music score, cinematography and appropriate flashbacks for you not to take your eyes off the screen during the 3 hour experience...excellent, 10/10 and well worth every Oscar whenever they come around next year !!

loved the movie and I love how every Nolan film feels like an event. I'm happy watching 95% of things at home, but his films are always more fun in a good theater.
Hands down one of the greatest IMAX experiences I've had. The audio of this film, music and sounds just blew my mind. I literally felt the emotion behind every sound. I'm saddened by the thought of only seeing it once in IMAX.
I saw the movie two nights ago at the local IMAX on 1570 film, and I've not stopped thinking about it since. It is one of those rare movies that you just know will be with you for a very long time. One thing I will not forget, just as the credits ended and everyone was leaving, a woman walked past, and with a slight chuckle said, "Well... I feel like I am emotionally damaged", and honestly I couldn't agree more.
The film was incredible, from editing, to storytelling, but something that hit me hard was the score. I mean something about it just stuck so hard for this movie and I came out of it going jeez that score. When Ludwig's name came up on the credits I was like "I knew it was him!" it was just wonderful! incredibel wrok all around. Cillian deserves all the awards for it

Trinity test scenes was nicely taken, some of bg scores gave goosebumps! overall a good cinematic experience. ,it is a long movie with lot of dialogues.but worth the watch in a theatre with wide screen and good sound system.
Just saw the movie on the big screen and it's incredible, thought provoking and revealing. How so many people can watch this movie and walk away going back to life as if it's "normal" is beyond me. Amazing script, directing, score, acting and all around production.
Only film I've ever paid to see more than once. Loved it so much, travelled to another place to see it again in Imax, and still watched it a 3rd time after that. Brilliant film.
It sometimes removes any suspension of belief for me. Once I've seen the behind the scenes that's all I see when I watch the movie the next time. Same with bloopers.

This is a film that goes way beyond entertainment. For those lamenting the lack of CGI in Trinity scene... I fear you are missing the point. It's more about the fragile power to control a potential world killer. Absolutely profound experience. Can't stop crying over the impossible choices Oppenheimer was faced with. How small and insignificant we are... How did man get to this point? How humble and agonizing Oppenheimer's thoughts must have been.... Nolan did an astounding job of making us feel that awesome terror. There are 2 kinds of people... Oppenheimers and Strausses.
Only people who see this imax can appreciate this movie. It’s like watching a roller coaster ride vs being on one. The view is the same the feeling isn’t.
This is BY FAR the best movie of 2023. If the oscars doesnt nominate this movie for best picture along with soundtrack, visual effects and cillian murphy's acting, then i dont know what else Nolan has to do to get nominated lmao.

This was a beast of a movie. Extensive cast, like it was in that project. The way in which the abstract thought experiments were depicted and the message of opening Pandora's box were done convincingly. I think Blunt and Downey might win academy awards along with a couple of others. Three hour long marathon.
When I went to see Oppenheimer at the cinema, I found it an unbelievable movie, frankly Nolan never stops surprising us. I hope he can make history at the Oscars.

I almost shit myself when that happened , somehow I completely forgot about the sound even tho before the flash I was expecting a loud ass bang based on the prior audio levels but I got lost in the visual spectacle that the thought of the obviously immense incoming sound wave somehow passed me by
I don't know how anyone can badmouth Oppenheimer, It's literally a peak cinematic experience... people seem to have wanted more or less which baffles me. It was incredible! I'm going to see it again in the cinema, the soundtrack was beautiful too, same guy that did TENET :D I can't wait to have this on 4K Blu-Ray with my other Nolan Films
The sound in IMAX theatre’s when the blast wave sound from the Trinity test reaches the scientists absolutely justified why IMAX was devoted to this movie, almost blasted you back into the seat.. amazing achievement 👏👏👏👏
I’ve seen this movie three times, and the only thing holding it at three is that I don’t want to burn it out. It’s such a good feeling in that theater. Never saw it in IMAX though, and there’s still time i think…… hmm……

Oppenheimer is the best film of the last 10 years I would say. Amazing performances from all the lead actors. Cillian Murphy looked absolutely exhausted in this interview - I've never seen him look so tired. I hope he's having a well-deserved rest now.
This is the best film of this year so far. One of Nolan's best, if not his magnum opus. Brilliantly executed, the score, the acting, the cinematography, everything is perfection.
I had been a massive history buff surrounding the manhattan project and the making of the nuclear bombs- I was so happy when they brought up the problem of potentially lighting the atmosphere on fire.... and choosing to proceed with testing anyway. and then the end of the movie..... so good

I love it so much, that instead of falling asleep to it, I stay bright awake because I feel the need to stay awake and listen. 😂

The score is stunning, I’ve had it on repeat since seeing the film..
I know I might get some hate for this, but I think the scoring are the worst parts of Nolan's films. It's not that the compositions are bad or the composer is not good: he does very technically and precisely what Nolan asks for. But that's the issue.
While Nolan is doing utmost impressive and out there stuff such as making a 3 hour long movie on someone as complex as Oppenheimer, shot entirely on IMAX, with a script that talks about quantum physics written in first person, mixing colour and black and white scenes, doing practical effects on location with both atomic explosions and quantum physics, having unbelievable video editing and never seen before sound design, he STILL insists on having those same generic "epic" Hans Zimmer style scores every movie for the past decade, especially after Inception.
I mean, how many times do we still have to hear those "epic" emotional horns? Or those "ticking" anxiety percussions with crescendi? Or those same minor progressions and arpeggios mixing orchestra and vst? I know it's interesting, but maybe the composers should be allowed to have more personality, experiment more, risk more, do something insane, just like he's doing visually.
Take Kubrick for instance. The guy was using Bartok, Ligeti, even Stravinsky, for scores! Now, in the movie, you see Oppenheimer himself listening to Stravinsky (of whom he was a fan in real life, having asked for Stravinsky's Requiem Canticle - an avant-garde piece - to be played at his funeral, which did happen), going to Picasso's expositions, having mental breakdowns and visions, having trouble in his personal life, trying to invent new things, inventing the atomic bomb and Nolan thinks the "right" scoring for that must be, for the 138838th time, either Hans Zimmer-like or minimalist? Makes no sense to me.
Edit: by the way, I'm not necessarily saying that all scores should necessarily be avant-garde to the point of being completely niche. There are shows such as "Dark" that have strong, experimental, "non-blockbustery" scores that have stuck with the general public very well. If the public can take all of those unusual and provocative elements from Nolan's innovations, I think the score, in the same way, should not be conformist and more of the same.

Idk seems like you and I heard two very different scores, there’s a lot of emphasis on the violin in this score which you can hear in the film and it’s a point that Ludwig and Nolan tried to implement to compliment Oppenheimer. Pretty sure I didn’t hear those intense horns with the scenes with Kitty or Jean or any of the softer moments. Listen to “a Lowly Shoe Salesman”, “Quantum Mechanics”, “Meeting Kitty” or “Oppenheimer” because they’re all different than the generic epic loud Nolan/Zimmer sound as you describe it.
While we’re at it, let’s ask Spielberg to stop with the John Williams crap or Hitchcock to stop with the Bernard Herman nonsense. Directors are allowed to stick with what they like.

Anyway, I didn't say the score is bad. Quite the contrary. I just said that it doesn't challenge the viewer at all and it doesn't match the dense, complex and troubling essence of the movie that could be expressed in so many other ways. If one can take in all of Nolan's complexities, densities and contradictions for 3 hours, being on the verge of what can be done on film, but thinks tonal arpeggios on a violin or emotional horns are up there with that, I can only hardly disagree.
Check out the piece I recommended, "requiem canticles" by Stravinsky - the piece that Oppenheimer, being so troubled, loved and asked for it to be played at his own funeral - and you'll may understand where I'm coming from.
Edit: by the way, mentioning John Williams and Bernard Herrmann does nothing against what I said. These two were always allowed to experiment, be complex and go beyond musical clichés whenever it would fit the movie. Just listen to the "Vertigo" soundtrack, or even "Star Wars" or "E.T.", for that matter.
Already saw this movie, Oppenheimer twice as clearly, watching this masterpiece, once is not enough.

Staggering. Powerful. I was on the edge of my seat and so was the lady next to me. Epic. Honestly the best movie I've seen in the last couple of years.
It was good. But it wasnt great. Im a Nolan fan and this was a great film but its not even close to his best.

@@lokio1890 My favorite that stuck with me the most was Interstellar. Its hard to rate them all but top 2 for me Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Prestige. Momento would likely land at 4 or 5 next to Inception.

Honestly, while Oppenheimer was a good movie, I found it to be less impressive in the filmography of Nolan. Better than Dunkirk, probably Tenet too (although I'll rewatch it soon), but The Prestige, Dark Knight Trilogy, Interstellar, and Inception were all better imo.
Oppenheimer was made for our hearts. For our knowledge. When I saw it a week ago I felt myself so proud. I can see this masterpiece in a real life, I can expand my knowledge of history.This is so incredible. Bravo, mr. Nolan!
I wouldn't say it's for our hearts. It's a cautionary tale about technology. I mean the scientist thought that the explosion might be so big it set the atmosphere on fire and destroyed the Earth yet they did it anyways..
Christopher Nolan has even said it's a cautionary tale about AI and hopes it makes some people second guess pushing forward so fast. While technology isn't inherently good or evil, this was something that just didn't need to happen or ever be used but hey, war, am I right?
AI "could" turn out bad even if the people who make it have good intentions in mind, similar to a nuclear bomb. I don't think we are anywhere close to AI taking over although one of the lead engineers at Google quit because he said their AI was literally scaring him as it started talking about killing humans. Now, it's his word against Google's but I don't think most people give up a probably several million a dollar year salary for 15 minutes in the spotlight either so who knows but he did make it clear that this story mirrored the potential dangers of AI.
So much precision and dedication. We don't realize how much work has been put in this movie, it truly ranks to a historical masterpiece.

The trinity test, and the sonic boom thereafter, made me jump. Absolutely terrifying. This is a horror film. Make no mistake. My immediate reaction was “That was a lot.” I loved every second of it.
What Nolan did was quiet clever actually. We see some great looking effects at the start, when Oppie is imagining the light burst and the ball of fire in his mind, but the detenation scene itself was very brief, as the real one would have been. That's the sickner. All that work by those great scientific minds, delving into an exciting new branch of physics and all they did was make device that blows itself up once. That's the big take home for me. The implications were massive, but the event itself was momentary. That's even more frightening.
There are very few films these days that are worth watching twice. And this one can definitely be watched multiple times

That orgiastic editing, right after Trinity, with the bleachers... omg, that's when I really started crying. Best Sound Design Oscar is def going to Oppenheimer.

The interviews were so awesome! I love how similar some of their responses were! Shows you that Nolan is really good at what he does and is good at conveying what he wants done and how he wants something to turn out and how good it *does* turn out because it’s so evident how brilliant it is.
It's been one week till i saw it for a second time and I wanna watch it again. It is an unbelieveble masterpiece. The movie litterally got me shaking and I can't put into words how beautiful it is. Such an amazing experience.
One of the best, if not thee best, Nolan movies and Murphy performances ever including the supporting cast, incredible experience !! The movie is shot with a great pace, music score, cinematography and appropriate flashbacks for you not to take your eyes off the screen during the 3 hour experience...excellent, 10/10 and well worth every Oscar whenever they come around next year !!
Honestly after having seen it twice, I'm not sure anything beats this for best picture

loved the movie and I love how every Nolan film feels like an event. I'm happy watching 95% of things at home, but his films are always more fun in a good theater.
This was one of the best movies I've seen of late but the main thing that stuck out to me was the score. PHENOMENAL.
Hands down one of the greatest IMAX experiences I've had. The audio of this film, music and sounds just blew my mind. I literally felt the emotion behind every sound. I'm saddened by the thought of only seeing it once in IMAX.
I saw the movie two nights ago at the local IMAX on 1570 film, and I've not stopped thinking about it since. It is one of those rare movies that you just know will be with you for a very long time.
One thing I will not forget, just as the credits ended and everyone was leaving, a woman walked past, and with a slight chuckle said, "Well... I feel like I am emotionally damaged", and honestly I couldn't agree more.
I hardly every see movies but I saw Oppenheimer TWICE in theaters- once in IMAX and one a standard theater. an incredible movie!

The film was incredible, from editing, to storytelling, but something that hit me hard was the score. I mean something about it just stuck so hard for this movie and I came out of it going jeez that score. When Ludwig's name came up on the credits I was like "I knew it was him!" it was just wonderful! incredibel wrok all around. Cillian deserves all the awards for it

My best experience in cinema so far, the ending was haunting.
Trinity test scenes was nicely taken, some of bg scores gave goosebumps! overall a good cinematic experience. ,it is a long movie with lot of dialogues.but worth the watch in a theatre with wide screen and good sound system.

9:30 - the cast is amazing and he is right. even legendary gary oldman appears for barely a couple of minutes.
Just saw the movie on the big screen and it's incredible, thought provoking and revealing. How so many people can watch this movie and walk away going back to life as if it's "normal" is beyond me. Amazing script, directing, score, acting and all around production.

Only film I've ever paid to see more than once. Loved it so much, travelled to another place to see it again in Imax, and still watched it a 3rd time after that. Brilliant film.
I wish all movies just had extreme extended behind the scenes like LotR did. I must know everything.
It sometimes removes any suspension of belief for me.
Once I've seen the behind the scenes that's all I see when I watch the movie the next time. Same with bloopers.

This is a film that goes way beyond entertainment. For those lamenting the lack of CGI in Trinity scene... I fear you are missing the point. It's more about the fragile power to control a potential world killer. Absolutely profound experience. Can't stop crying over the impossible choices Oppenheimer was faced with. How small and insignificant we are... How did man get to this point? How humble and agonizing Oppenheimer's thoughts must have been.... Nolan did an astounding job of making us feel that awesome terror.
There are 2 kinds of people... Oppenheimers and Strausses.
The music leading up to the testing of the Trinity device was completely nerve-wracking! I was on the edge of my seat!

I just saw it. Feel it needs multiple viewings. Now wish to read the book, American Prometheus.
Can only recommend it, I went to watch it a second time and managed to catch many small details I missed on the first time.
Only people who see this imax can appreciate this movie. It’s like watching a roller coaster ride vs being on one. The view is the same the feeling isn’t.

Absolutely a masterpiece by all accounts!
This was a beast of a movie. Extensive cast, like it was in that project. The way in which the abstract thought experiments were depicted and the message of opening Pandora's box were done convincingly. I think Blunt and Downey might win academy awards along with a couple of others. Three hour long marathon.

I almost shit myself when that happened , somehow I completely forgot about the sound even tho before the flash I was expecting a loud ass bang based on the prior audio levels but I got lost in the visual spectacle that the thought of the obviously immense incoming sound wave somehow passed me by

I don't know how anyone can badmouth Oppenheimer, It's literally a peak cinematic experience... people seem to have wanted more or less which baffles me.
It was incredible! I'm going to see it again in the cinema, the soundtrack was beautiful too, same guy that did TENET :D I can't wait to have this on 4K Blu-Ray with my other Nolan Films

The sound in IMAX theatre’s when the blast wave sound from the Trinity test reaches the scientists absolutely justified why IMAX was devoted to this movie, almost blasted you back into the seat.. amazing achievement 👏👏👏👏
I can hardly wait for it to come out on DVD so I can see it at home on a small screen...

Oppenheimer is the best film of the last 10 years I would say. Amazing performances from all the lead actors. Cillian Murphy looked absolutely exhausted in this interview - I've never seen him look so tired. I hope he's having a well-deserved rest now.
This is the best film of this year so far. One of Nolan's best, if not his magnum opus. Brilliantly executed, the score, the acting, the cinematography, everything is perfection.

I had been a massive history buff surrounding the manhattan project and the making of the nuclear bombs- I was so happy when they brought up the problem of potentially lighting the atmosphere on fire.... and choosing to proceed with testing anyway. and then the end of the movie..... so good
Watched it 7/19/23 in the Philippines. Impressive cast, direction, editing, musical score. Need more historical movies of this caliber.
