a great album Harvest when it came out I was 11 years old, I started loving it at 14 years old, I live in Italy now I'm 63 years old and I always listen to it, his voice, his harmonica, his acoustic guitar, you start traveling in a world made of joy and sadness, because in wars there are no winners, but only all defeated. peace and love❤❤☮☮
This album will ALWAYS remind me of my father, who had great taste in music and left us much too early.
Cut school one day in '72. Went to a diner w/jukebox at the booths - 3 songs for a quarter. Put in $5 worth of quarters and played Heart of Gold - only! Ah, what a great memory even though I got picked up for truancy!!!!
But the truancy memory, adds to it, doesn't it!
Villa Girl, Ohhhhhhh!😮
Lol 😆💽🔊!!!
Cool dude
It was worth it! 😂
I still sit with u sherry.30 years ago ?albums of neils, your kitchen table, listening to his songs.
I’m 21 years old and have loved Neil Young for as long as I can remember. My dad and I always listen to him, the song Old Man will always remind me of him. His voice is so beautiful and I love every song on this album. When I bought an old truck the Harvest CD was my first purchase and I cherish all my time driving around listening to this album. I hope I never forget how much I love Neil!
Is there even one album out in the last 20 or more years in which every song was amazing? In my growing years they popped up routinely. So much talent.
This album is the sonic equivalent of a thick fluffy blanket on a winters evening.
I'll have both please
I’m 71 years old and remember how wonderful it was listening to Neil in my 1970 SS 396 Chevelle. I still have the memories and the Chevelle !
Me too. Great days. No Schwab or Fauci.
Rock on, brother!
@@tomavery1248 Fauci started working at the NIH in 1968, so he was already working there, but not yet pi$$ing off conspiracy theorists.

Me too, from France ! I love this album that I bought. Th'x Neil YOUNG !
I’ll never forget Darleen. She played me this album on out third date. Just us, the streetlights shining through the window, and my crappy record machine. I can still hear her laugh at 02:43 as I passed her another smoke. Thank you Neil for that moment… crystallised in time
You shoulda married her. 💚
I know the same laugh. The same moment. I know it with a different song, a different person and all of the different moments. Though I'm certain that the feelings we experience, while we revisit those moments is nothing short of identical. Pure Love and admiration. You knew it then but, you didn't truly know it as you feel it, until later. Right?
Anyhow, I hope you and yours are content and comfortable, brother. Be well. 💛
That's a great memory..It's amazing how music can eternalize a memory in our minds,
I am 62 now and this never dies
We always listen to this driving across the country. Remember hearing it in early 70s. 62 now
Cheers to a long and healthy life mate.

Hello 👋 robertielicic
How're you doing.
Thanks for this comment, I'm nothing without fans like you who appreciate my musical craftiness
It's nice meeting you here.
I love this album. It was my soundtrack to being by myself building a log cabin out in Colorado as a young idealistic man. God, how each of these songs brings back memories, feelings, dreams, even smells.
Hope your dreams came true mate.
That's so awesome! I played this song (Out on the Weekend) live solo acoustic so many times. I always was afraid no one knew what it was, but I loved the song so much, that I played it anyway......but it always turned out to be a crowd favorite. If my memory serves me correctly, this album was recorded in Nashville, and it is my favorite all time Neil Young album. The SOUND of the entirety of the recording will never ever be duplicated by anyone.........ever.......... It's almost haunting....
You weren't alone, friend!
J'espère que tu as pu y vivre au Colorado et y rester,.
Perfect album for that. What a great memory.
Harvest and After The Gold Rush. These two albums are all you need.
Add Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and Rust Never Sleeps
❤Merci Neil Young, j'adore ton album❤️
Oh, man it's raining on 1-2-23 and here come those tears. What a beautiful album. Thank you
They don't make music like this anymore! Long may you run, ol' Neil!
No group of talented starving artists living in a cheap Laurel Canyon inventing new music.
This was my first album. Bought it in 1975 after my older sister took all her albums off to college.
Brought every album on cassette i love it still
My coming of age. 14 years old stoned out of my mind trying to figure out what the. Hell.Niel is talking about and now lm 64
Neil Young's music just makes me want to grab what I can carry and pack up my truck and hit the highway and make a new home where I find it.
I heard Harvest first in college - I'm 71 now and still relate - gracefully - love to all - KEEP THE FAITH BABIES!!
My favorite Neil Young album : all the songs are great songs. ♥
oui toutes! absolument !
"Neil Young's 1972 album 'Harvest' is a timeless masterpiece that captures the essence of folk, country, and rock. With hits like 'Heart of Gold' and 'Old Man,' Young's songwriting brilliance shines through. The album's rustic charm, reflective lyrics, and soulful melodies make it a cornerstone of his career and a classic in the folk-rock genre."
It was 1871 listening to this cd in my 75 Olds three years before I was born flying down the highway. All I could think while listening to it is wow this is some way out cool future tuneage
I'm 71 and grew up listening to Neil Young, he has such an incredible voice, I could listen to him forever. I saw him with Crosby Stills and Nash in the early 70's, one of the best concerts I ever went to.
Wow,I can only imagine Xxx
My favorite Neil album of all time!! Hands down the best!!! This is truly real Neil Young. :)
Seems all of us here share a REAL feeling about a physical entire Human Being and his création✨ blessed we are

I had to be deep in my 40s to discover the beauty and understand the perfection of this album. Just bought it on vinyl. Timeless masterpiece.
Thanks a million!
Still coming back to this in 2023!
Cheers!
In 1974, when I bought this album, I was stationed in Germany with the Army. I had bought a Dual turntable and a Marantz amplifier. I had Bose bookshelf speakers in my tiny room that filled with Neil Young, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, and CSNY. So many good stories of our life in the barracks and the field.
What a coincidence mate, me too... with the bleeps! And your taste and memories are parallel to mine...bloomin' eck
We lost David Crosby yesterday - it hit me a lot harder than I expected. I’ve been listening to CSNY and related music - they don’t make musicians like Neil or CSN anymore
😢😢😢
Words (btwn the lines of age) is just a MASTERPIECE of a song
Gotta Love those ole Harvest years
Back in the day when you could hear what they were saying. So much good music put out in the 70's. Neil been listen to him since early 70's.
Rolling home to you!

I’m 45 and this album takes me back to my highschool years when this album was already 25 yrs old. Will always have a notable place in music history. I’m going to dance with my wife and then do the dishes. Good listening everyone. Dec 2022
I met Neil Young when I was 13 at bus stop at skyline&LaHonda rd. He pulled up in a Ferrari 308 GBT. His hair was crazy,t top, and said"study hard, stay in school. Then peeled out. I didn't even know who he was. I learned from my home room teacher who he was. He was a Young&stones fan....
Shoutout to my old pal Nik who showed the beauty of Neils simple songs. Changed my taste of music forever ❤
GO SEE HARVEST TIME!!!!! Incredible behind the scenes footage taken during the making of this album
please post the link for this footage here !!
One of the finest albums ever made, and just so darned simple!
Great album. Bought it, when I was 58 years old. YOLO
That high, thin voice of his draws me in every time.
Some people don't like his voice, they're missing out. Same complaint with Bob Dylan. Two great masters of music, lyrics and song. I was 17 in 1969, saw Neil in concert in 1972 in Berkeley, where I was learning at UCB about life and love. I knew I loved Neil back then, still do at age 71.
what a great voice; This album is a classic of the seventies; just reading all your lovely comments andwe are all together listening to this album and happy in our memories. god bless neil youngx

It's nice meeting you here.
Was working for a bank in a small town in Zimbabwe mid 70s..when I bought this album... Man!!! How melancholic... Especially. the song Havest.. Still have the vynal today...
I drove from Rome to Zurich by an old orange five hundred fiat, listening to this music ❤
I never knew that James Taylor played that classic banjo on Old Man. What a talent.
News to me.

I'm 17 months old, and I just started playing the guitar. All the kids at my college are too concerned with that rap crap, so they give me hell for listening to "sad music", but I dream of sharing the stage with Neil some day!
You have good vocabulary for your age
Linda Ronstadt ❤ and James Taylor harmony backing on "Old Man". 😊
PRETTY GOOD SINGERS
I would listen to this over and over and over❤
When this album was coming out in 1972, I went weekly to my local record store to find out its release was delayed once again. When it finally came out, I was shocked at how great it is. Definitely worth the wait. It’s a classic.

Everything made in 72' is now classic
My friend turned my on to this years ago. Dang if it doesn't still prove true. Thanks, Bill. I will always appreciate it. What a beautiful album.
I would say it deserves a place in the top ten most influential albums of all time.
From Russia with LOVE!

Get out of Ukraine. History will judge you cruelly.
Brings back so many memories
Honestly one of the greatest albums of all time! I'm so thankful to my Mum for playing this around the house when I was a kid.
I love reading all the comments here about memories related to this album. I was born in 83, and the connection I have with this album is when I was an immigrant living in Devon, UK. I used to take walks around the moors and plains of that beautiful English county and feeling so fucking cold and lonely, and listening to Neil Young through my headphones. 😂
One of the best albums ever made
One of the greatest albums ever made!!! Love Neil!!
This album is wonderful, such a comfort it feels listening it all the way thru
Nous jeunes arabes des années 70-80 nous avons découvert ce genre de musique par le truchement des radios et émissions musicales . Ca fait parti de notre mémoire et a beaucoup influencé positivement notre quotidien qui était souvent morose ......
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a real comfort especially in the uncertainty of the world 🌎
What a treasure and classic to enjoy
One of the most thoroughly melancholy albums ever recorded. Having said that, this is a masterpiece.
I take it you haven't heard "Tonight's the Night?"
@@pillettadoinswartsh4974 tntn wast in the mix.
She only recorded a moment in her life.
IDK. It’s very uneven. Most of his lyrics are so dopey that they would embarrass Jim Morrison. Then look at Heart of Gold and Old Man. You know they’re great from the opening notes. Where did they come from? My guess is he had been helped, a lot! Whoever wrote a Man Needs a Maid isn’t capable of H.o.g. Seriously.
@@davidmuir7711 the only person who needs help is u
@@davidmuir7711 seriously? The Jack Nitzsche string arrangement is worth the price of the record. Young and Morrison were always more concerned more with transforming lyrics into musical phrasing within the context of great music than writing lyrical tracts to be analyzed in English Lit 101 classes. Harvest is musically brilliant throughout most of its 37 odd minutes. Young has acknowledged the implied chauvinism in the lyrics, but also insisted that having such an outlier added musical depth to the record. I have always loved the song. It is musically very melancholy and yet surreal, and have never understood how anyone would have ever taken the lyrical stuff in it literally. Haunting melodies over one of the most unusual chord changes and key modulation choices I have ever heard in a pop song. It is a piece of progressive pop music that actually works. Of course Greil Marcus never got that, the RS writers often overlooked the actual music part of the music. The best music writers (and songwriters) know how to connect those parts. Who cares about a great lyric if it is attached to a trite piece of music, and yes, vice versa? Lyrics are not poetry. They are meant to be sung. Different game.
Still one of the BEST blast from the past 70's. Still listening at 65 yrs old, bu

Just buttoning up the book. Those Seventies women would eat you alive.
Over and over again.
I just turned 70 this summer.....so I was 20 when this came out. There's a Pastor you HAVE to look up...Alistair Begg...Scottish fellow. In one of his sermons one time he said "If our Gospel be not true, we might as well pack it all up, buy a big truck, move it down to LA."

“A while ago somewhere I don’t know when….I was watching a movie with a friend….I feel in Love with the actress….she was playing a part I could understand”. That’s a lyric Of Genius.
This Album gets better with each listen 50 years old now A Marvellous Masterpiece 💯☮️❤️
I wasn't even born when this came out. I discovered it in the 90s and still listen to it. It seems that this album doesn't age. A masterpiece.
+1. Born um 74 and also consider this album a masterpiece.

This was woven into my late teens.
Was at the cinema to see Harvest Time last night. The film has been compiled from footage of the Harvest recording sessions. It was an amazing film and highly recommended to all who enjoy Neil's music
I used to play every song from this LP on piano and harp and sing them, and other NYs
The first album I bought from N. Young. I felt in love, musically speaking, I was 18 now 68 and Neil is still my favorite . Moreover now with Neil’s archives. We discover treasures each time. Thank you NY
I first heard Neil Youngs everybody knows this is nowhere at 15 yeer old and very sick. I think that album give me the will to get better and carry on, thanks Neil.😁👍❤️🎼🎸
My favorite too!
We want Neil Young back in spotify!!
Too bad he doesn’t feel the same as us!! :(

I was 15 in 72 in boarding school in Qld Australia when I first heard this album. We were at Mugarah dam on a school pinic. What great memories.
This album means so much to me. My dad, who’s now passed, used to play this on tape in the car on holidays in France.
My favorite NEIL YOUNG'S Album. His style is so unique and soothing!
LINDO LINDO E NUNCA VAI ENVELHECER .
That harmony and banjo brings tears to my eyes.
On old man.
i feel that
I was in college in February 1972 when this album came out. I was supposed to see James Taylor and Laura Nyro in concert the night I was hospitalized. My friends felt bad for me. One day they visited me and gave me this album, purchased at Caldor's. A masterpiece IMHO. Fast forward to now and Neil just released "Harvest Time" last week. First on vinyl, then cassette, CD and now the internet, I still hear the songs as I did at 19 so many years ago...
Adore this album from the first listen at 14 in 2005
Neil Young is the best for a reason..
I was 15 when this came out.
We were smoking banana peels.
It made the album sadder. Neil4Ever
So sorry to intrude. But I had to reply that I found your comment to be extremely poignant.
Heard it when I was 12 on vinyl fell in love with it ,my sister bought me the record, still my favourite today , never gets old
Harvest is the album of the "first meeting" with Neil, a love that has come down to the present day
This is one of the finest albums of all time in my opinion, I don't know if he's ever played Manchester but I'd be there in a flash if he came.🎼❤️👍🎸🎧😁
your lyrics Always keep me grounded.. you're a genius... when I feel down I just rub the lanturn & listen to your magical words... Raymar.. lil lenyo
Oh how Iove this album. For some reasons I don't really listen to it all that much but aside from the more famous songs there are hidden nuggets like Are you ready for the country and A man needs a maid. Stellar
