The fact that Ernie never thought his wife was involved with his kidnappers/killers breaks my heart, how he was begging for both of their lives despite the fact being his wife orchestrated this entire thing.

It’s so sad how he not only didn’t do ANYTHING to deserve being murdered, he was an angel who was raising and supporting several children who weren’t even his! He was going above and beyond and he was attractive, she had a guy most girls dream of having. It’s awful thinking about the pain he went thru when he died, how he wasted so much time and life around a miserable woman who constantly put him down when he deserved the opposite. RIP

How could Samantha pull someone so handsome and actually caring, he doesn't complain much, he has a beautiful smile, and the softest eyes, he was such a caring person and she had to take him and his life.

Kinda reminds me of my sister in law. She is a stay at home Mum to a 1 yr old daughter and her other kids of 10 and 8 are at school during the day but the idiot has the guts to complain about how my brother hardly cleans up or does house work when HE is the one working full time and all he wants to do is play a video game and relax after work and she complains to me about it. She popped out 3 kids and uses her phone as a babysitter while she watches TV and smokes cigarettes. She had her 3rd kid on purpose and claimed it was an accident, even when my brother said he wasn't financially ready for another one yet. She also tends to over spend on things she can't afford. Buys stuff on afterpay without telling my brother, lies about spending money. She even bought herself new shit when she forgot that she needed to buy the kids new school shoes 🙄😡 smh.

He works all day then bathes the kids, cooks their dinner and puts them to bed while she's on Facebook showing off the house he built that shes taken over... I hope he's just staying with her for the kids but even the kids don't like her and they're not allowed to see me or my mum because she thinks we will try to steal my brother away. The stupid morons that were in jail for marijuana charges…they’were STUPID …when it WAS illegal, and let’s say for arguments sake that you live in a higher than average crime area, with frequent police patrols……standing on the corner smoking blunts with 2 quarter ounces in your pockets isn’t the smartest thing to do.
The laws regarding marijuana were stupid themselves ALONG with the sentencing guidelines which took away discretion from judges who might have been inclined to give the accused probation instead of jail time.
But, my friend, being in jail on a drug offense doesn’t make you a genius …and I say this as a person that thinks the WAR ON DRUGS was a War against the American People themselves…Black White and everyone in between
The fact that he died not knowing his wife was behind his murder is probably the only comforting aspect of this case. Spending your last moments ridden with betrayal and heartbreak would be significantly more tragic imo.

anyway, circumstances don't relieve us of our responsibility to self awareness. we all came for entertainment, no? people do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons. Maybe he was stupid for staying. However, he wanted to stay to support his kids. Love is a deep complicated thing and that's why there is so much abuse in this world. Love can be stupid and that's okay as we are only humans. We aren't very smart but you can always learn.
I ask you this since I don't know if you have a child...
If you had multiple kids and had almost no money to get up and move out and you dedicate your life that means giving everything off your back to your children because it is a paternal trait especially in this individual that we speak of...would you honestly be able to leave multiple kids behind or move them with you? How would you do it. Where would you go. Where would you bring your kids in the winter? How would you stay clean. How would you function as a lawful clean member of society? A lot of people probably wouldn't make it...but some people do.
It's not good to look at love black and white. No more arguments here.

RIP Ernie, you were the one being abused without realizing it to the very end, even begging for the life of someone who didn't deserved a single bit of your efforts. You were a hardworking father, you deserved that break and gaming was probably your escape of the stressing life you had while that girl was just bad mouthing you not even realizing how self centered she was. It must have taken a lot to put up with that, many had already gone away with such toxic behaviour and, since it was in plain internet, you should knew about it and still you stayed to the end. Begging for her life just breaks my heart, she should not have the chance to receive any attention while in prison as punishment for such horrible actions.

One in particular warns people of signs and symptoms of narcissism so that people don't fall victim to them. Any of them would tell you, though, that most narcissists won't seek help, because they don't think something is wrong with them. Many are forced to get help from a court order or other legal reasons.
So yes, it's treatable, but very hard to given the nature of the problem.

I raised 2 children on my own and, though I'd like to have a tattoo, money for the kids, mortgage, etc. came first. Of course, I wasn't an entitled, self-absorbed person. After my husband and I parted ways I had other relationships, but surprise I was aware enough to use protection.

Ernie seems like he was a really great person. He worked his butt of for her and all of the kids, not just the 3 that were his. She had a really good life. She didn't have to work and doesn't seem like she really wanted to do much besides sit in the house and not do anything. All she had to do was care for the kids and she couldn't even do that. She could have killed the children dosing them. Ernie didn't deserve any of what happened to him. Samantha could have just left. Those children lost both parents.
Nah they lost their one parent that really mattered who was in retrospect both of their parents at the same time. Ernie was their mother and father. Samantha was just some freeloading tag along. A side character.

This is beyond tragic. It just goes to show you how choosing the wrong partner can drag your life to hell. Ernie deserved so much better and those poor FIVE kids have lost everything and have to live with this trauma for the rest of their lives.

First off, this monster goes on and on about how she hates stupid people while being one of the stupidest. Also, I suffer from chronic insomnia and take Ambien every night, along with other medication. That she would give this very powerful drug to her children is just another indicator of what a true monster she is. I hope she spends the rest of her life in prison and that every single one of those days are miserable. My heart goes out to Ernie's family. I can't imagine their pain.

I used to be on Ambien, until I had a horrible and scary experience with it once. I agree though, I'm surprised it didn't harm those kids!
I was horrified when I heard that! I can’t believe she didn’t end up killing one of them. I hope they are now with loving families.
I used Ambien for awhile in the early through mid-90s while at university due to my long time sleep disorders that began around age 16 (now I just settle for sleeping every other day, it’s easier/safer) but I ran into one of its severe side effects well before such was listed as a known side effect. Ambien, if used more than once or twice in a week, would eventually severely impair both my short term memory as well as my cognitive processing as I would get to a point where I could barely read a children’s picture book because my short term memory would degrade so far that I could only hold onto 3 or 4 words at a time, so any sentence much longer than that was something I could make absolutely no sense out of as I would only know they very beginning, the middle, or the end, but I could never process the full sentence to understand what it actually meant. I could know that there was a “Jack and Jill”, or I could know that someone “ran up a hill”, or that there was an intent “to fetch a pail of water”, but I could only ever have those individual pieces of that nursery rhyme and never all of them at once to make any sense of what was being communicated. My IQ is around 140 and I literally had to drop out of university because I could not even comprehend a child’s picture book, talk about infuriating! It similarly affected other aspects of short term memory as well and I have entire semesters at university that I have little to no memory of (and, no, I did not drink alcohol and no illicit drugs were consumed as I wasn’t into such!). I haven’t used Ambien in nearly 25 years despite my sleep disorders (insomnia due to severe delayed sleep phase syndrome that progressed to Non-24hr sleep wake syndrome). Sadly it took several years to understand that the memory loss was caused by Ambien since that was not a listed side effect at the time and I had numerous other chronic health issues (e.g. Fibromyalgia, severe chronic pain, etc.) aside from insomnia as well as issues with mental health (like DID, which has its own memory loss issues, C-PTSD, and major depression).
Ernie is also really handsome and has such a sweet face! It’s like you can see in his eyes that he’s a innocent soul. I feel so much empathy for him

These days it doesn’t apply but it goes way back. The wealthy would have 1 or 2 while the poor would have 7+. Back in the day it made sense because being poor they couldn’t afford medications and things like that. Poor children died more so it made sense to have more. That and the chance of one of them becoming something. These days that doesn’t apply much.
