I had couple of hours in Zurich and spent that looking for cheapest food.
Switzerland is so expensive that an average meal can cost over $40.
Clickbait. Stop spreading lies about the prices. A Big mac menu is about 12.90 swiss francs. The burger itself costs 7.20 swiss francs.

I have been living in Switzerland for about 10 years. Although I work in Zurich, I usually bring my food from home (I live in a neighbour-Kanton next to Zurich). Some tipps: prepare your food at home. Eat SLOWLY. Never go hungry to a supermarket. Always have something to snack when you are on your way (peanuts, small fruit portions etc). Stay healthy. That means stay far far away from McD and other junk-food businesses. If you want something cheap, don't shop in Zurich. Zürich is a great city, full of art, culture, nice places to go and so much more. But remember: it is the city of the swiss bankers. Don't expect a free meal there. Enjoy the time with yourself. Talk to people kindly, it is something that will come back to you always.
Not gona lie, you were really disrespectful. In Switzerland you can‘t just enter a shop or sit mext to somebody and film without asking and then talking this loudly.

Being mindful is important or else you’ll get a dose of reality you aren’t expecting. Loud doesn’t equal fun… it’s annoying 😅

the CHF 20.- is for a whole big mac meal, not just the big mac itself. but prices in switzerland differ from place to place. you‘ll be most likely to find cheaper things in smaller cities

The only way to survive with 10 swiss francs per day is to go to supermarket like Denner, Aldi or Lidl and make your own sandwich 😅.
And if you go to Geneva I have a secret place : Chez ma cousine. They only serve chicken, but the price is only about 18 francs which is cheap for Geneva

I've been to Zurich but that was about fifteen years ago..It was expensive back then but wow prices have since almost doubled.

At one point (I think at 8:21) you were very close to a shop called Äss-Bar. It sells products from the day before for half of the price. It means you get Sandwiches for 4 Francs (Roastbeef for example).
Otherwise read beforehand what prices in Switzerland are like. Like others already mentioned, this is disrespectful!

Geneva is ridic exy. My partner and I arrived there late arvo/night and wandered the streets looking for a decent place to eat. We ended up at this Thai restaurant (mainly coz it was the only place open) and they served like a few curries (literally a couple pieces of meat in each bowl), a few pieces of other foods such as random garlic prawns, a few other random dishes etc........ bill came and it was like $400 AU lol. We knew how much the food was before we ordered, however, for the price which was stated on the menu we were expecting decent sized bowls of curries and portions in general....... but nope..... no joke tiny ramekins of curries..... like the type of bowls normal people use to put their wasabi and soy sauce in and the other food we got was like 2 pieces each (one piece per person). Geneva was definitely the most exy place in Europe for us. I guess we can say we’ve been there if anything 😅

As a foodie, i really reccomend the negishy all you can eat. Its a sushi place near the river you walked by. Its 50$ for an all you can eat, propably the best bargain for a good evenin out

The reason why our food is so expensice is because our food is higher in quality and fresher. 6,50 Fr. Is not alot for a normal swiss person. Just get informed better before u travel around.

You get right to the point, the quality of most products is better. A lot of it is of Swiss origin/production. Means smaller quantities, often organic, sustainable, etc. All of this is ultimately reflected in the price.
By the way, I would be interested to know what a Moitier-Motier fondue tastes in other countries after the hamburger comparison that is made again and again (I naturally insist on the real cheese, not some cheap industrial cheese). I'm sure our price is quite reasonable!
