4:19 your bunny and cat kissed. It was cute.😌😌😌
I rescue bunnies and I have to say you are the best rabbitry I have ever come across. Thank you for addressing the show and 4H situation. I am trying to get the word out but it falls on deaf ears. My rescue now I am keeping because of his bad breeding and growing out on a wire bottomed cage. He has dental issues and horrible feet: dislocated toes, etc. I am also trying to advocate against the meat rabbit industry. I have a UA-cam channel: Laughing Lagomorphs if you are interested. I'm always looking for feed back.
Erica Kauffman Could you explain what you mean by the show and 4-H situation. I'm a little slow today 😅.
Tbh in medieval times the rabbit meat industry supplied a lot of cheap food to people who desperately needed it. We all have to remember there are domestic rabbits, and rabbits that need to be used for their resources. If you can accept that distinction, and recognize the use for it, you'll realize how wonderful it is. Many researchers use rabbits and their meat for research and have discovered wonderful things that ended in the benefit of new information for raising domestic rabbits,

It’s very obvious you do this out of a passion for the bunnies.
The white one loves cleaning, he cleans himself and his siblings. So cute
I can watch them forever
1:33 the one to the far left is my favourite by far...ITS SO FLUFFY
I couldn’t imagine giving away my bunny I love him to much and if I get more ima keep em forever
Thanks for talking about showing bunnies at fairs & such. We went to a local fair a few months back and one of the little bunnies in a cage for show, was lethargic and not moving. It was so extremely hot and the worker of the fair kept trying to stand it up, but it wasn’t happening. He shewed me away so people wouldn’t realize the rabbit was in trouble... it was heartbreaking...thank you for talking about that. 💗
Yes, fairs are especially strenuous for bunnies because it's often a week that the rabbits have to stay in a usually hot, cramped, uncomfortable environment. Not to mention the potential pathogen exposure. I'm a competitive person, but I can't see putting my bunnies through that just for a few ribbons and notoriety.
Hey Littlelotti's Hartland
I’m dying of cuteness omg

Thank you for being one of the few humane rabbitry owners in the world. Your work means a lot to people like me who are into veterinary science. :)
This is a wonderful video. You and your babies are so sweet. I had a black new Holland lop named bert for 10 years and lost him in august. I want to give those cutie pies a big hug!
Great video! Just got back from my first rabbit show. I came away with a lot of the same feelings. Plus I came home with another bunny. I was able to get cages there with solid bottoms. Thanks for all the info.
What breed of bunny is Paisley? She has a long tail and short ears.. hmm.. not quite Netherland Dwarf 🤔
LOL. Whatever breed, she's a blue-eyed white (only one blue eye though). :)
Xilathia idk she is cute she’s all white and she’s out of the little playpen hahaha

I remember when I was little, a friend of my parents gave us a pair of white rabbits. Then rabbits got more and more, so we had to send them away. Female rabbit can deliver 6-7 babies one time in every half year. You can image how many foods and poops every day. They like to jump but easy to fall. But very cute. I miss them so much.
I want all of them! Your buns are SOOOOOOOO adorable!!!!!
Omg I'm in love.❤❤❤❤❤
I feed my lop clover from my garden. I also feed her brocolli and lettuce.
Cutest little bunnies around

hey just got a holland lop rabbit
@Hooks Holland’s have you ever considered placing a camera in your bunny barn & streaming it? I feel like an @Hooks Holland’s ASMR channel (bunny’s naturally make very relaxing sounds,) & you can’t beat the visuals.
I have thought about it, but our internet couldn't handle it, and I would have a slew of negative comments about the bunnies being in large, solid floor enclosures when not exercising outside or in the barn. :(
I have a lion head !
your first bunny looks like my Summer Boy, except he is pure Lionhead
Where did you get that little play pen with the green liner under it??
u r the best
I WISH I COULD BUY oNE OF YOU LOPS!!!But I live in Mississippi.

Looking to get a pet holland lop. Do you think does or bucks are more sociable and cuddly?
hi i want to breed bunies but my parents say no what shoulde i do?
where is that little cage there in from or what's it called? were getting our first 2 holland lops for Easter
It's a very short playpen that's only good for baby bunnies. You can buy taller ones from Amazon or Drs. Foster and Smith.
Where can I buy an enclosure like this? Im especially interested in the green pad w/ the rim!
That dang bunny is fast lol
could you plz tell me, how to recognize original baby holland lop
No fruits until 6 months?
I have a holland lop and she like 9 or 10 months old . In the last month she been really aggressive and grunt a lot . she use to be very playful . what can i do ? please help?
I would guess it's hormonal behavior changes, and spaying should help significantly. It can also happen during pregnancy.
So adorable!
Have you ever given the wrong babies back to the momma's? I would get confused as to who belongs to who. 😊
No, but I would definitely know as the mom would likely attack a baby that wasn't hers. If I have any similar babies, I mark the insides of their ears with marker. I see the babies so often that I generally have no problem identifying which family they belong to. :)
Hi, I have lost my rabbit today and I really don’t want to talk or tell this to anyone, so I will be writing our story here. I apologise if my words are not enough to express my emotions.
His/her name was Sütlaç. He has been with us for one month but I got really used to him and bonded with him. I would lie down next to him and let him climb on me. I would pet him on his head and his little twitching nose. When I lie down, I would touch his nose with mine, like a kiss between us, he would love it! I would feed him fresh grass in my hands (That was the only way to get him into my hand, since he had limitless hay, he wanted fresh grass). We would take him to the park everyday and watch him run and jump. I would love it when he did the rabbit flop. I have read that flopping near you means that the rabbit trusts you, so whenever he did that I would be full of joy. He lived in my & my sister’s balcony, he would run to my window when I studied. I would open my window, give him a kiss on the nose and then continue studying. He would put his paws on my window as if he was begging me to open it. I’m really mad at myself for not letting him into my room today, before he died. He used to love my room. He carefully checked every spot, like a little kid exploring the environment. He was like a literal baby, with his own toys. As I started off my story, we didn’t even get to know his gender, it would be revealed in 5 months of time and our baby was only 4 months. And that breaks my heart even more.
Today, I left home to go to school. I petted it the last time without a notice. When I was in class, my sister texted me that Sütlaç was missing. I said “how so?”, shocked and curious because we lived in an apartment, he couldn’t have run anywhere. She went home, and she texted me that there was black feathers everywhere and the cardboard under its cage was ripped and scratched. He clearly fought for his life, against some kind of bird. As I’m writing this I’m also crying. Mom was the one opening the balcony window.
I left school in hurry, came home, searched everywhere. (And if I’m being honest,) I got super mad at my mom. She’s very religious so I said “Don’t pray to god, or read the holy book, non of that will save you from hell” and rather calmer, “I wish it was you, rather than him”.
So I’m saying is, please don’t delay things with your pet, as I did with not letting him into my room. You don’t know when they are present and when they are gone. And for the last, please pet your little friend for me, right now. Because I couldn’t.
I don't have a bunny yet but I've been researching for about a month now and I have heard a couple of things when it comes to getting your rabbit to be comfortable with you. You mentioned leaving it alone at first and then giving the bunny affection. I also hear that you should sit in the same area as your bunny and let the bunny get used to your presence and let the bunny come to you first. Do you have an opinion on that or do you think both of these ways are pretty okay?
I suggest leaving the bunny alone until it is comfortable enough to eat and drink regularly. Then, sitting with it and letting it investigate you and the environment (in a small area) is ideal.
Advice please: I just adopted two four month old male Holland Lop brothers that the owners children no longer had time for and were probably going to be set free in a field because they couldn't find anyone to take them -incredibly irresponsible I know. Although I didn't need any more pets (still trying to get over the loss of my dog from old age) I couldn't let those bunnies suffer and fend for themselves in a field so they are mine now. The problem is that they are very scared and don't want to be held at all. They have tons of high quality hay, pellets, toys, new hutch and playground, and are eating and drinking all the time. So can you please advice on how to befriend them gently without traumatizing them anymore than they have been by being abandoned by their owners? I just want them to be happy with lots of love and affection..but they try to run away every time I get near them. Thank you so much!
I always suggest sitting in a small area with your buns and ignore them (watch a movie, read, etc). When they begin investigating you, offer a hand to sniff and eventually maybe a small treat like a tiny tear of a leafy green like parsley or leaf lettuce. They are prey animals and need to learn that you are not a threat. It will likely take weeks (or longer) to earn their trust. Neutering around 5/6 months can help too and will be essential so they don't hurt each other (males are very territorial with other males).
@@HooksHollands Thank you so much for your kind reply. I have ordered a gate system from Amazon so I can sit in with them and not worry about them getting trapped behind furniture and will follow your advice to the letter. They are already letting me scratch their heads through their hutch so I'm very hopeful. Take care and thanks again!
can you plz tell me, how will i recognize the original holland lop baby?
I feel like my bunny don't eat enough hay. How can I encourage her to eat more hay
I live in ohio and i am going tomorrow to possibly buy a holland lop baby! I will definitely be buying from a breeder than a pet store because Id like to know that they are friendly and have been handled daily..most of the bunnies at pet stores ive noticed haven't been handled much and they dont seem to care who buys them as long as they are selling the pet..since i am shopping around and im in ohio..do you have any available baby lops? Thanks
I have a netherland dwarf bunny and he seems to get scared whenever I come near him or try to pet him any tips on that?
