Wayland games are great, I’d also recommend The Outpost based in Sheffield and The Games Bunker based in Weston Super Mare
How about a video painting guide on how you did your Stormcasts 👍
I can do that, still got 5 models left to paint.
@@tabletopskirmishgames your color scheme looks very striking, I would also love to see a video about it!
Wonderful ! What is your process for the stormcasts ?
Thanks! Here is a link to the video I made for painting my Stormcast .... ua-cam.com/video/uKnx_JBjVIo/v-deo.htmlsi=wZIcAhPjof47f2Yl
Did you bake the sticks only to dry them or what? What Temperature and for how long did you set your oven? Asking because I'm trying to do the same for my gravelords
Yes, bake to dry them out and it stops any mould growing later on 🤮🤣 Bake at around 100 degrees C until completely dry. Usually an hour or two. I do the same for sand and stones too.
@@tabletopskirmishgames right on thank you, I couldn't find this information anywhere, lifesaver 🙌
I bought the locktite on your recommendation. Excellent! Easy to apply, accurate, dries pretty quickly but not too fast - so you can adjust your fit - and holds well. Thanks.
Ah nice one, that's cool to hear, thanks!
So good !!! I want to try it lol maybe next army...:p
Thanks!
These look pretty good! I try to avoid Green Stuff World though, they've been caught a few times stealing artists work, generally just an unethical company. I'd try to source products from elsewhere like Etsy. But that's just me! I also like to prime my bases after they have the majority of stuff down (not tufts and leaf litter though, but the mud and twigs and stones and skulls, etc) and paint them , then attach the mini when it and the base are all finished.
Very nice, thank you for sharing this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the videos.
How do you cook your tree in the oven?
Thanks! It's a BIG oven 🤣 (I bake them tab 120 degrees C for 1 hour or until they are dried out with a nice snap 🧑🍳)
This is a really well made and helpful video! Thank you, i wanted to make autumnal themed bases for my nightaunt army and i was looking for inspiration
Thank you, glad it was helpful!
Very nice tutorial. Thank you very much.
Man those bases look fantatic!
Do you recommend basing with the minis on or before putting them up on bases? I'm considering doing a similar basing for mine but wary of getting the "mud" all over their feet
I do a mix of both. With the leaves, I think you could base the minis first. When I did my Space Wolves, I added them afterwards. One benefit of basing first is that you can use plastic glue and the bond is stronger. Basing like I did with Space Wolves meant I had to use superglue and so it's not as robust long term.
A toothpick is ideal to spread the mud close to the feet and gives you more control than the bigger tools. I tend to go thinner with the mud the closer I get to the feet.
Gorgeous! I've been thinking of doing something like this for my Admech
Thanks! These leaves are fantastic. You can get other colours but I think the autumn colours are the best.
These look super good. I can't wait to try something like this out. I was looking for a colorful base that includes flowers in some form.
These are my favourite bases, the leaves are so effective. You can get other colour leaves, but these Autumn colours with some brighter shrubs mixed stand out a lot. Have fun getting yours made!
I started using wild sticks and twigs a little while ago but was worried they’d deteriorate over time so slapped some home made mod podge on the top. This helps just preserve them too, but I don’t know if I’ve gone OTT doing that 😂
I think that's a good idea to seal them in, certainly can't hurt.
So good! Have you also a video where you paint those stormcasts?
Thanks! No I haven't made it yet, but I have some models left over that I can paint up for a video.
Looks great, may have to try this, or something like it myself
Thanks!
I got a box of decorative branches from hobbycraft for around £1 in their reduced bit and they’ve lasted a good while. They’re white but look ok with a brown wash. Loctite is great too, I prefer the blue pen version to the one shown here. It’s accurate and you don’t get sticky fingers using if. Cheap superglue is fine for quick jobs but if you’re basing a squad, it’s better to go with the loctite. You only get a few squeezes out of the little tubes before the nozzles clog up and then the whole tube is useless!
I use twigs from mulberry trees and gravel on just about all of my models. I also use some yellow flower tuffs ( that look like mustard plants or field flower) along with grass tuffs on most ( grey grass on my night haunts ).
All of my Sister's of battle are done in an autumn theme and another great material to use believe it or not is little pieces of cut up sponge. If you paint them in fall colors they look great as piles of vegetation or leaf piles , or maybe fungus if you glue bits on the side of your twigs? I haven't tried that but I could see it working really well!
That sounds like a great idea for the fungus. I chopped up some sponge in a food blender with green paint to make clump foliage that could be good for that. I might pop some on!
@@tabletopskirmishgames thanks for the awesome video Lee!
Them bases are beautiful
Thank you!
Loved the look of them bases
Thanks!
