We used to take the piss out of pop music back in the day (everyone secretly loved it) but now it is downright sophisticated compared to the shite today
Brilliant marriage of producer and Band, I know what it's like to be locked up in a studio with a producer who has not got a clue what you're all about but obviously Orbit does, this could be the perfect pop song xx
I fortunately have some previous familiarity with this magnetic Black Coffee song by All Saints because one of my earliest memories and fortunately also a happy memory of hearing this song was around the 2006 timeframe when I was enjoying this song from a various artists music collection I had owned and I was enjoying some free time after work with my amazing husband, why this song never played on the radio stations in the areas I have lived in the states is a surprise even to me because this is a well put together song.
I was never a fan of modern vocal groups but these ladies have talent, they can sing and the songs are great as well. All other a re rubbish aside from Destineys child.
In-group fighting, largely with Melanie & Shaznay on one side, and the Appleton sisters on the other. The tension between the two sides was palpable and it showed in promotional appearances for "Black Coffee". Things came to a head at the Capital Radio Awards that year when all four band members got into a vicious fight over who got to wear a combat jacket for the performance which had been allocated to Shaznay. She won in the end, but it turned out to be the straw that broke the camel's back. By the time the next single, "All Hooked Up", was released and entered the charts at No.7 in January 2001, All Saints had already split up. When you think about it, they were very much like Oasis in a way. Shaznay was the Noel of the group, the songwriter who could craft catchy hooks (the irony that "Black Coffee" was brought in from writers outside the group is not lost on me though), the Appletons were the Liam in that they just wanted to be the pop star with all the trappings of fame that they'd aspired to since stage school - heck, Nicole even went so far as to marry Liam Gallagher! (No offence meant to Mr. Natalie Appleton, a certain Liam Howlett of The Prodigy, a very talented person in his own right) Melanie was caught between the two camps - she was an old friend of the Appletons yet shared Shaznay's vision for the music.

A different atmosphere to this video, as opposed to the ol' days. This one is so much more relaxed!

It's not that modern. I'm a grown woman and I listened to them when I was a child/teen.
