Slight correction. Jek Kardan was Havoc squad’s CO before Tavus. Kardan was in command of Havoc squad during the mission to Ando Prime, and then left when he found out the reason he and the rest of the squad didn’t get any reinforcements. Tavus took command of the squad since then before Meteor(the player’s trooper) arrived on Ord Mantell
Interesting that I've never heard of Dorjander Kace until now. Although the backstory of the Darksaber with Tarre Vizsla is only Disney canon, there is certainly an interesting parallel between the 2 characters: presumably the 1st Jedi to be a Mandalorian vs the 1st Mandalorian to become a Jedi. Although I thought they'd be contradictory from how Kace existed millenia before the New Sith Wars, Tarre Vizsla is noted to being important because he was the 1st Mandalorian to be inducted into the Jedi Order rather than the 1st Jedi-Mandalorian as a whole. It's quite the interesting narrative even if they don't go together since they're technically from different canons.
1:24 - The Dark Side IS free will. It's not an external corruptive power. It's part of everybody's consciousness. Force users who became selfish and evil CHOSE to be so.
First, a Geetsly video on a Monday that is highly unsual. Second, Pers Pradeux: A guy who had good reasons to turn traitor and was a true hero of the Republic by seeing it had gone bad and to save it he had to defect to help restore it, Rex and the rest of the Clones in the Clone Rebellion would be proud. Dorjander Kace: Definitly harder to pin down, I'm loyal to the Galactic Republic, but I do acknolwege its faults even so I don't think turning traitor is the right course unless its because the Republic is under the control of the Paesdaya or its become the Empire, however, he made some good points about the Mandalorians becoming a force for good as we've seen in many of the recent shows how they have grown and become better and heroes now, so I'd say it all balances out and hes neutral. Admiral Karath: Him not wanting to lose everything he had worked for is understanable, he didn't want to go back to poverty much like Kishbog later down the list who only joined the Republic as a job to get paid to support himself. However, he did many horrible things after defecting making him truly evil. The first evil traitor on this list. Harron Tavus: Understandable reasons for defecting, he was betrayed first and loyalty is a two way street so if one party betrays you then you have every right to be disloyal because they are not worthy of your loyalty because they didn't show you loyaly. To quote Crosshair in the unfinished versions of the four part Bad Batch episodes from Star Wars the Clone Wars; "I wouldn't be too loyal if I was left for dead." However, it wasn't the Republic itself that betrayed him it was General Gaza who sent them on an unsanctioned mission without telling them and thus the Republic couldn't get involved, so he and the rest of Havoc Squad shouldn't have betrayed the Republic itself and even if they did they really shouldn't have joined the Sith. Once again it balances out like with Dorjander so I'll call them neutral too. Spar: You put it best, he was a troubled guy, not good or evil, so against I'll call him neutral. Ghost and Kishbog: Both had understandable reasons for wanting to leave, however, much like Slick they didn't go about it the right way. Frist off, killing the Clones was not okay, much like Slick putting his brothers in greater danger by sabtaging the operation on Christosis, if they want to leave thats fine but don't put others who want to remain loyal in danger just so you can get out. And the bigger issue is they were also going to sacrifice innocent civilains. So these two are also evil traitors. So thats one good guy traitor, three evil traitors, and three neutral traitors.
I honestly think Tavus defecting was not justified at all. The Republic, despite being absolutely incompetent (although militarily it's still very impressive, especially compared to canon NR), is still objectively the moral faction. Even though Havoc got "swept aside" at Ando Prime (I haven't played the Trooper story in forever, but what I'm seeing is that it was probably an unsanctioned mission that the Senate simply couldn't help with), they would've been treated way worse by the Sith Empire, where one small misstep means Tavus and his team get instantly killed by a particularly unhappy Sith. I remember that in the X-Wing series, Rogue Squadron resigned their commissions to go after Ysanne Isard because they were frustrated at the New Republic ignoring her threat. Havoc should've done something like that - fight their own private war against the Empire
Except the Imperium is primarily (from my admittedly lesser knowledge of Warhammer’s lore) seeking to exterminate Tyranids and similar species that are far more interested in making the last of humanity their meal rather than peacefully coexist like most of Star Wars’ sentient aliens!
I stood up and saluted at the end of the first traitor's story (the one who brought down the Pius Dea). As for Tavus, a dialogue option as a republic trooper in swtor puts his unrighteousness well: "How is the tyranny of the empire any better?"
I didnt know you had to agree with the imperium to be a Warhammer fan, The imperials are not good guys and the emperor is an evil entity that took over mankind instead of helping to prevent its fall to begin with...those are the facts, natural humanity does not exist in 40k, every self dependent human civilization has been eradicated by the imperium during the great crusade, what is left isn't "us" it's a religious hivemind of slaves who are inherently separate from our humanity and even the original Warhammer humanity during the golden and dark age. The interex are far closer to us than the imperium. We're no more similar to the imperials than to the orks or eldar.
The Leviathan is said to have launched during the Mandalorian Wars in the KOTOR guidebooks and Essential Guide to Warfare; in KOTOR itself, Carth recognizes the ship and also claims to remember its layout, which indicates that Karath commanded it before defecting from the Republic
So before i watch this i am taking a small bet with myself. Anaconda Farr, Haron Tavis, Saul Karath, and Slick. Post video Petra: I was right 2 out of 4
I couldn't sympathize with Harron Tavus because he chose to side with the Sith, who had sacked Coruscant and strong-armed the Republic to give in to their demands. His reasoning was delusional, believing the Sith valued strength in its warriors. The Sith don't respect even themselves with all their constant scheming and back-stabbing, least of all the common soldier. Had his squad became a mercenary band or just retired altogether, I could've understand. But joining the Sith was just idiotic on his part.
🤔 . . . I don’t exactly know, but upon seeing/hearing Order 66, non-clone personnel defected from the Galactic Republic, which, of course, days later, became the Galactic Empire. Therefore, the question must be asked: who went traitor the first: the higher ups OR the subordinates?
If only Spar joined the Republic instead of the Seppies. Then maybe he'd have the chance to claim a few Jedi lightsabers and heads once Order 66 rolled out.
Spar as the "son of Jango Fett" is actually a retcon of '80s comics where Separatist-turned-Rebel Mandalorians claim to have served under Boba Fett during the Clone Wars.
Karath... This is jus one letter away from the Korath Clan from Galactic Civilizations. Firring, as both were traitors and were both evil and more evil than the ones they betrayed.
Great video. I must admit I don’t think I’ve seen a Star Wars creator create videos surrounding some of the obscure or just the often not talked about characters and. Events in Star Wars. Too often do I see regurgitated videos from years ago being done again by the same channels or just copied by others
I felt zero sympathy for Tavis or Havoc Squad. Oh boo hoo, we got left to die in a covert mission. Well that’s their job. And they wanted to whine that their job is to die to ensure the republic remains safe.
hey, if anyone is interested, I've got a star wars alternate universe project I want to share. it's basically star wars, and gundam. it involves these mechs that I named: "battle frames" all inspired by mobile suit gundam. if you have any thoughts or something to say, please reply to me! May I ask whether we will get a video about why you haven't bothered to make weekly Skeleton Crew videos, like with Ahsoka?
Fenn Scheißer? Or what is his name?

They even had cathedral ships lol

Traitors are always the most devastating enemys, they know where to hit and they can get dangerously close to do so.
To quote Bastila: "What greater weapon is there than to turn an enemy to their cause? To use their own knowledge against them?"

No love for Papa Kal and his fam?😅 I mean, his grandson did go on to become a perfect blending of Mando/Jedi😂

Was the Pius Dea Republic basically just the Imperium of Man?
kinda but way more corrupt
Yea, basically
Except more successful. The Imperium could barely hang on to a million worlds, whereas the Pius Dea Cult ruled millions of worlds.
Bit more corrupt but yes.
Except the Imperium is primarily (from my admittedly lesser knowledge of Warhammer’s lore) seeking to exterminate Tyranids and similar species that are far more interested in making the last of humanity their meal rather than peacefully coexist like most of Star Wars’ sentient aliens!
That mustache is a galactic treasure and probably has more confirmed kills than the Clone Army could imagine.
Ngl, the moment I read the title, Tavus' face immediately popped up in my head.
I stood up and saluted at the end of the first traitor's story (the one who brought down the Pius Dea).
As for Tavus, a dialogue option as a republic trooper in swtor puts his unrighteousness well: "How is the tyranny of the empire any better?"
he makes an ad for a warhammer game, but then praises someone who fought against anti xeno crusaders.
ironic
"The duality of man" ahh
