For anyone who didn't know, this was sang by Chrissy Costanza, vocalist of Against the Current she also sang 'Legends Never Die' from League of Legends and 'Hero Too', Jiro's song from My Hero Academia S4
I'll go as far to say that the two songs basically share the exact same melody and structure, in different genres/soundfont. Which is really interesting.
For those who haven't done the raid series/don't play FFXIV: A lot of Black Cat's attacks also are pretty much learned from her sister! Making clones of herself, attacks that cover one half the arena, destroying the floor, etc.
@@saamjaza1742 I don't know how much of it is intentional as Brute Bomber is also pulling clones (Savage only) and, not quite, half room cleave But if it truly is, that's a great move on their part
I flat out love that they put a soft enrage into this fight, they need to do that for more normals, and make it ramp up, so it's never a hard enrage like you'd get in savage, but eventually, it doesn't matter even if you've got the best healers and tanks in the game, eventually it just wears out the resources and leads to a wipe if it's going too long. Normals don't have to be hard, but they should require you to at least pay a modicum of attention if you wish to succeed
Was watching the chat while he nailed the song and lol guy thinks this was a super fate theme when its stage 4 Arcadion. Also this is one of the best songs added in Dawntrail nobody changing my mind.
I usually raid on MCH, something I *know* This time around I wound up getting stuck in with Pictomancer, and this song slotted the last piece in for me because I couldn't *help* but learn the rotation as the fight went on just to show off while hype music is playing.
Arcadion raid series spoilers, show more at your own risk. I didn't notice on my first listens because the song slaps, but when you pay attention to the lyrics, it is interesting when you tie it in to Wicked Thunder's story. If you can recall the events of the story, basically the repeated use of a feral soul causes your soul to degrade, aka pyschonekrosis, which according to Eutrope, you can only await a sooner death with no cure. There are no such things as the "immortalized", which is just a cover up of these fighters' deaths as they are discarded and the next fighters arise. The song sounds like it gives an application of this knowledge in Eutrope's / Wicked Thunder's life after realizing her soul was degrading, and it is quite chilling when you come to the realization that it's probably Eutrope herself singing this song. It's hard to break it down because there's a lot of lyrics, but to me, it describes the journey of a poor, innocent soul that fulfilled her dreams, yet realizing it was not as big as it was made out to be. This is her song of fighting back in her own way while subtly sprinkling in a plea for the suffering to stop.
You perfectly summed it up. It is Eutrope's song, she is the one "singing" it to us as we fight. Not only is it as you said, but it is her begging US to save her. She thinks our soul will save her. She's right, but not in the HOW we save her.
Not only is this her song, one of the first lines is a bit peculiar. “Yet like the grey the sky is draped in, the colors of my mind are fading, gone.” Kinda weird right? Why draw this attention to a strange metaphor comparing her own medical condition to a gray sky? Well this is *her* song, more accurately, it’s a death poem. Traditionally, these always have to include an allusion to nature and the changing of seasons, drawing attention to the fact the author’s time is ending. So while this is obviously a banger, it fits quite well artistically by emphasizing that if she loses, she’s basically going out in the ring, desperately clawing for survival, even if it means doing something unthinkable, murdering another fighter, or rather bizarrely….running away from a fight.
SCH main, I love that fight and I love how they put a soft enrage into a normal mode raid because it gives me something to actually do besides pressing 1 and letting Selene (the _correct_ Faerie) do all the heavy lifting. Even though we've outgeared her at this point it still feels so satisfying to do a "not on my watch" with Seraphism
not sure when this was streamed but too bad you only had the video with the incorrect lyrics instead of the updated one with official lyrics that was uploaded about a week ago
I mean the video he is drumming to looks like the hungrychad video, which came out... about a week ago? Is that the one you meant? The lyrics sounded fine to me lol
@@idkidc12333 the video he was sent was the first hungrychad one from about a month ago that transcribed the lyrics by ear because the official lyrics weren't revealed in writing yet, so a lot of them were displayed wrong. the video that has the correct lyrics displayed was uploaded a week or so ago but that's not the one jerod ended up getting sent. hungrychad doesn't take down or update lyric videos when official lyrics get released, they just upload a new video. not a big deal by any means but it was just weird to see the old incorrect lyrics after I had seen the corrected video.
It never fails to amuse me how ffxiv lyric videos always have the wrong lyrics. Even the songs that are reasonably clearly spoken english will usually get caught by the uncommon dialect Soken uses as he tries to make the songs sound distinctly Eorzean in nature.
After I saw "Bee My Honey" i just knew there would be a post of "Give It All"

For anyone who didn't know, this was sang by Chrissy Costanza, vocalist of Against the Current

"How are you still STANDING?!"
"DYNAMIS SON! It hardens in response to emotional trauma!"
"This is not my sword, it's a massive mistake"
"We're making the mother of all despair. Don't fret over every Meteion."
"The Concepts..."
Black Cat's theme has a ton of leitmotifs towards this song since they're sisters, it's a nice touch you don't notice on the first Arcadion run.
Yeah indeed. Really nice touch especially when you replay the first one.
I'll go as far to say that the two songs basically share the exact same melody and structure, in different genres/soundfont. Which is really interesting.
You can even add the green room theme in the group, as it is a slowed done version of the motif
