Bump up the algorithm guys, like subscribe and notifications on 👍
For your plug, just buy a UK type garden/outdoor plug (e.g. the heavy duty orange ones) and replace the Schuko one that's on there.
I would but I think that'll invalidate the warranty 😑
Aiden - just a suggestion - fit a standard waterproof twin socket (the type with a hinged and sealed lid) cut off the current plugs and replace with standard 13 Amp). You know how to have fun.😉
I would if it wasn't for the warranty 🙄 give it another year 😉
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT To be honest Aiden they may land themselves in the dwang refusing a warranty claim based purely on changing the plug to conform to UK Regs.
Quote: Under the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994, it is a criminal offence to place on the market or supply in the UK an appliance which is not fitted with either (i) a UK 3-pin plug, or (ii) a non-UK plug permanently fitted with a UK safety-approved conversion plug. It is not enough, for example, to provide a 3-pin plug adapter or to make the origin of the appliance clear on the product detail page. A loose adapter in the box in which the product is supplied is not sufficient. Possible sanctions for breach are fines and/or imprisonment. Unquote
@@normanboyes4983 oohhh that's useful info! 👍
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT 😉👍
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I don't think cutting the plug off and fitting a UK plug would affect the warranty. It certainly doesn't on white goods. Personally I go with @normanboyes4983 with this one, safer to fit a UK plug correctly. I'd fit a BG IP66 13A 2-Gang SP Weatherproof Outdoor Switched Passive RCD Socket in preference as well and have it the supply cable properly glanded. Or a non RCD one if there is a RCD at the other end of the supply.
I didn't look at the title, just saw a new Aiden video and thought that would be nice to watch while I'm having lunch!😂
😉😁
Holly hell mate! If it ain't mice, it's your septic system. What you wouldn't give to be on higher ground and not have to depend on a pumping station and a complicated system to constantly monitor? Have you thought about when it's time to sell your place and you get to educate the prospective buyer on what is involved with the drainage and the sewage?
You've amazing in how you continue to overcome each problem or setback. My hat's off to you and continued good luck pal. Give 'um hell.
Graham - Orlando
I'd be happy to explain to a potential buyer how it works or sometimes doesn't work 😆 I think people that live rurally are used to dealing with them but it's just new to me so I'm learning 😬
Another awesome vid! I know the feeling when your constantly putting out fires everywhere....its a total nightmare! Nice work!
It really is!
Good luck mate life’s tough
Aiden you need to keep yourself clean no matter if you go out or not😊😊🫣
😂🤫
What a nightmare!
As always, you find the solution.
Fingers 🤞 this is a good fix.
Dam cold 🥶 and another storm due...possibly 😕
Testing times, bit spring and warmer weather is hopefully on the way.
Hi Aiden. The one way valve wont stop the rats. They will chew through the plastic if they want too. Lets hope they are not interested and go elsewhere...
There is a stainless steel metal plate on this one so whilst they could do some damage to the plastic I'd like to think they don't have a plasma torch 😆 it's fine if rats want to get into the tank though as they can't get out the other side, they end up just kicking the bucket eventually (one was floating in there last year), which just adds to the bacteria breaking down everything. I've only put it in to stop the flooding 🤞
Chin up Ade it’ll soon warm up buh
I wish 😩 bring on spring
Gutting - just a pesky adapter, wont make that mistake again!
Keep up the work mate, hope you got those van electrics sorted 🤯
You and me both!
Great video Aiden. I didn't think I'd ever say this..... But I enjoyed listening to you talk a load of shite! Well done.
Haha well you'll be pleased to hear there will be more of this 🙈 the saga isn't over
Dig a bigger ditch when the neighbour refits the old clay pipe, maybe also look to stop growth in said ditch.
Fingers crossed he will clear it 🤞I have offered to help. He did it last year and I have suggested it when we've been chatting.
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I did think whether you or neighbour had any left over large plastic/concrete pipes. Cut lengthways and laid into ditch could eliminate weeds etc.
Ha-Ha... was waiting for you to blame it on old Micky again 😂.
Your Plug issue... just get yourself an IP Enclosure - rewire your indoor metalclad socket into said enclosure using a proper gland. Then make a small cut-out in the enclosure on the underside between the rear section and the lid to allow your pluged lead into it, fix the lid on and you've got yourself a better water resistant option.
Now.... off you go and stop playing with your shit in public... 🤣
BTW... that shot of you head-down that inspection chamber. Classic 👍
I did want to use an IP enclosure but doubted the plug and adapter would fit, but now I know I can just get an IP shuco socket! 🤯 They're not readily available but found them on eBay
Another great video... What's the linear meterage of your drainage field
😆 I don't have a drainage field cause mine goes straight into a 'watercourse'. The treatment plant is certified for this
Cut the plug off and wire it into an IP rated spur mate.
I would but I'm sure that'll invalidate the warranty 😩
14:50 would have been a terrible time for the sewage system to start pumping out...😁 Surely shopping off the Euro plug and replacing with a 3 pin and then sticking the socket in an IP rated enclosure which you can then stick the 3 pin into is the play there?
If I would have heard it start up I'd be out of there in a shot 😅 I did think about that but didn't want to affect the warranty. I've just orded an IP rated EU socket instead 😁
Swap the EU plug for a UK one and fill it with silicone?
I thought I would invalidate the warranty by cutting the plug off but that might not be the case looking at the legislations 🤔
How's Arfur? We've not seen him for a while.
He's doing ok, he featured in my french Drain video at the end 😁 we're trying to work out why he keeps rolling on his back though, so far we've worked out that it is sometimes cause he is hungry, other times he needs to go to the toilet, other times he just wants attention, other times it seems he is in pain 😑 we try and stop him doing it so he doesn't hurt his back though
Aiden - 12.20 is that a piece of lead half way up your garage?
If so, what is its purpose?
Thanks
Fellow sewage plant enthusiast.
It is indeed, well spotted! I've actually got a log store to build on that side but decided that can be one of the last things I do. Just popped the lead in for the roof whilst I was doing the cladding to make it easier when I eventually get round to it
You can get an IP66 rated schuko socket for like £25
Ahaaaa there's the answer 🙌 just ordered one off eBay
Ideally you would change the cable to a up plug, it's glanded into the box so likely is removable without damage.
Be careful working solo putting your head into a sewer pipe /manhole - the gasses can kill you in seconds if high enough concentration.
That's useful to know 👍 this one is well ventilated though, I have a low level vent and a high level vent with a spinning chimney cowl on top 😆 so it sucks everything out
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT Please don't be complacent - search youtube for sewer gas videos and I think you might be more cautious -not trying to be a H&S Mary just ignorance is deathly. Thanks for sharing your exploits
Maybe you need a bit more fibre in your diet 😁
Haha
