    Do not leave the ACV on your hair, make sure to wash it out with cool water. But make it more of a quick and light rinse so the pH doesn’t increase by too much.

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  7 років тому +9

      It's best to rinse the ACV out with cool water. You are right the water will increase the pH again. It's more of a quick and light rinse so the pH will not increase by too much.

  • @NunyaBness
    @NunyaBness 6 років тому +11

    I have a question on the order in which to do the ACV rinse. When you say AFTER conditioner, do you mean regular conditioner? Or deep conditioner? I'm assuming after deep conditioner because of how it closes the cuticle. Am I right?

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  6 років тому +11

      I'm talking about both. It depends on what you are using on that wash day. Some wash days you can use a deep conditioner and on other wash days, you can use a conditioner.

    I just had a random thought/question while watching your video. I usually wear plaits throughout the week and remove them to wash/condition my hair. Would it harm the health of my hair if I left the plaits in while washing/conditioning/moisturizing instead of taking them out? I can take them out periodically to detangle but will my hair get properly moisturized if I just condition my hair while still plaited? You washing your faux locs in this video made me wonder about that lol. Thanks for the help!

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  7 років тому +13

      When you say plaits, if you mean cornrows then I suggest you take them out when you wash and condition your hair b/c a conditioner is not supposed to touch your scalp and it would be hard to avoid your scalp if your hair were in plaits. If your hair is in braids then, yea you can definitely wash and condition your hair in them. As you said, just make sure you detangle once in a while so they dont loc.

    • @queenali91
      @queenali91 7 років тому +4

      yes, I meant loose box braids (no added hair). thanks for the help!

    • @The.Whoever
      @The.Whoever 7 років тому +4

      Alisya Edwards I know you didn't ask me but I'd like to just tell you that that is actually what I do. And I refer to them as plaits too. individual box braids with no added hair, just my natural hair. I leave them in for no more than 4weeks. I prepoo, DC, ACV rinse, LOC with them in. I pre poo, poo & deep condition once a week. My hair is high porosity so I don't have much problems with product getting through the braids. I just make sure I do a little squeeze to the braids to be sure product gets in there. And finger detangling is an absolute breeze because I moisturize them frequently. i just detangle each plait as I go. And to be sure your strands are getting product, I just take a random braid and unravel it just to be sure it's properly moisturize. And if it isn't i suppose you can adjust your technique accordingly. All I do though is make sure I'm squeezing my plait with product. Much easier than cornrows because the p laits allow better access to your scalp. I love it! The only thing I don't do is my hard protein treatments. I take them out for that.

    • @queenali91
      @queenali91 7 років тому +2

      nikqualuv09 thank you for replying; you totally helped me out! I've been wearing plaits as part of my regimen for awhile but it's kind of annoying to taken them out just to put them back in every week... when all I need to do is clean my scalp lol. Thanks for the help!

    Absolutely love and respect your knowledge on natural hair care. My daughter is 5, I notice that after every time I do a full wash on her hair there is still A lot of build up/ lent pieces through out her hair. I seriously don’t know what to do at this point? I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s growing BUT wash day concerns me because it’s so much shedding and lent build up. I’ve switched products and still notice the same reaction. Any tips on what to do? Is this normal hair health?

    Taking into consideration everything you said about how a ACV rinse closes the cuticle, would it be best to do it after one does a deep conditioning? I was thinking the cuticle should be closed after as the very LAST step. What's your take on this?? You are fantastic by the way, and I really respect everything you say. Your Green Beauty protein is INCREDIBLE!! I've purchased it from you on more than 1 occassion and it's made a HUGE difference in my hair!!

    • @SpiritPhilosophy
      @SpiritPhilosophy 7 років тому +2

      J Fox she uses it, shampoos the hair (which opens up the cuticle) and THEN u can do conditioning or adding acv again, to close the cuticle, like she does. so. it doesnt matter. its also not a bad thinf if your cuticles were closed the whole time (which isnt possible)

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  7 років тому +14

      If you plan on doing an ACV rinse its best that you use it as your last step. So Shampoo --- Condition or Deep Condition --- ACV rinse

    • @cassandratraynor4586
      @cassandratraynor4586 4 роки тому +1

      @@GreenBeauty how long does ACV rinse stay on for? should it just be done on the scalp? To clarify, is the process: Shampoo, condition (leave for a few minutes), then ACV spray onto scalp and leave it for a few minutes then rinse? or is it ACV spray onto scalp and then onto the rest of hair and leave for a few minutes then rinse?

    I have a question..is it ok 2 use a acv rinse when u think u have low porosity hair?..or is it only 4 high porosity?

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  7 років тому +7

      An ACV rinse is beneficial for all hair types b/c all hair is porous to a certain degree, its just that some are less porous then others. Also, due to regular wear and tear, everyone's hair becomes more and more porus over time so, an ACV rinse can come in handy for everyone.

      I have low porosity hair. ACV makes my hair rough, dry and tangled. After ACV rinse me trying to LCO is useless - leave-in conditioner or cream just sits on top of hair because ACV has tightened/closed my cuticles.

I'M HOOKED! i'm just curious because my hair is also in faux locs at the moment and you said conditioner would't exactly be useful after washing in this protective style. Should I then use a hot oil treatment instead after shampooing my hair? if yes, is castor oil or coconut oil any good for a hot oil treatment because that's whats available for me at the moment.

    Hi what do you think about let a mixture of apple cider vinegar, water and honey rinse and go on with a usual LOC LCO method. I do this and my hair seems to respond good to it. But may be I do wrong (french from paris excuse my english 😑)

    Thank you! Im gonna make some...I used an ACV rinse for the first time yesterday..and highly recommend it. I have a problem area that stays frizzy, it smoothed it right down...Im 51 and have had this patch of hair since i remember, nothing worked except maybe a ton of product. But even then I could see it wasnt the same. I really wasnt expecting the results I had.

    I come to you for all my natural hair issue lol but I recently did a diy protein treatment and now my hair won’t stretch like it used to. I used to be able to twist it and take the twist down the next morning and it would stay stretch. Now it’s only been 2 days since my treatment and I twisted my hair and took it down (hair was completely dry) and it shrunk all the way up! I usually wear stretched but now my hair be like psych!

      lol our hair does seem like it has a mind of its own sometimes. No worries, your hair may just be experiencing too much product build-up. Use any clarifying shampoo to clarify your hair. After clarifying your hair do a REAL Protein Treatment - greenbeauty.com/real-protein-treatment/. This protein treatment is a lot better than those DYI protein recipes b/c its molecules are a lot smaller so, rather than just sitting on the surface of your hair, it penetrates to it can reinforce it from within. It also makes your hair super soft.

    Do you add any essential oils or herbs to your acv rinse?

    • @GreenBeauty
      @GreenBeauty  7 років тому +2

      No, I don't. I only use essential oils in oil or cream-based recipes, not liquid. You can always brew some herbs, let it cool and use that as the water to dilute the ACV. That would be a great bonus!

      GreenBeauty Right, that's what I thought you already did with yours; well if you ever venture into that area I'll be watching. The in depth information you share on your channel is food for thought, so thx for sharing.
