I'm not sure if this is for me, but I'm replying 😏 I only use one a month as it's hella messy and pretty long to prepare. But I use it as deep moistorising clarifier. I shampoo with melted black soap.quick detangle with whatever conditioner I have on hand, mix my clay mix I usually add alma powder (Indian conditioner) boiled marshmellow root or horestail (both are conditioning to the hair and promote hair growth) and ACV, rinse out and a last rinse with rosemary water. It's a lot I know hence once a month. But my hair has grown super thick, strong hardly any breakage and stays moisturised until my next general wash day which I do weekly. @@lilyvelly2530

    Thanks for sharing your routine.
I've been using goat milk soap to wash my hair for about 3 years now, but I've been thinking about more natural techniques. About 2 months ago, I got in a hurry and used shampoo and conditioner for the first time, and noticed the next day that about 2 to 4 inches on my hair had broken off. 😳 I've never had that happen before. Ever.
I'm so glad that you're helping so many of us to find more natural and healthy alternatives in hair care. Thank you.
As a side note. If your home has a septic system, don't let the clay solution go down the drain and into the tank. You'll need to spend 1000s of dollars to have your tank pumped every few years. Instead, use the clay and rinse it out into a trough you can empty outside, or use it in an outdoor shower.

today I just washed my whole body and hair with liquid clay, it was such a fun experience.
I had the clay in this big glass bowl in the shower with me, i was dipping my head in it and putting the clay all over myself, I rinsed everything thoroughly and I can say i've never felt this clean in my life. No synthetic or even natural chemicals has ever gave me this experience!

isn't it strange as we grow up we're taught to think that dirt and mud are "dirty", like it has a negative energy around the word. Yet it literally, cleanses us.
It's almost like someone or something doesn't want us knowing this information :'(

It makes sense they wouldn’t want us to know. Adam was formed from the earth and Eve was created from Adam (part of the earth) so it makes sense’s that things from the earth are good for these bodies (food, elements, minerals etc) the (evil) powers of this world do not want you to even know who created you, who died for you much less what is a better choice to take care of yourself here.

I have an oily scalp so I will try the bentonite.
FYI: I learned first-hand a decade ago that most bentonite clays are laced with lead.
After having been notified, and realizing I had symptoms, I searched for a natural detox (which worked) and discovered from a NY doc that the only pure bentonite is from WYOMING and is called Pascalite. Small, family-owned business. Pascalite is very moisturizing, too.

Agreed! I have been doing this for over 6 months now and I can easily go 1.5-2 weeks before next wash and my hair/scalp are not dry. When I used conventional shampoos I was dependent on washing daily or every 3 days as it made my hair more dry or disrupted the pH balance and created over secretion of oil. Thank you for sharing and inspiring women to use natural methods.

I use an herbal like clay ,,add few drops of dr. Bronners, almond Castille and water...wash 2.5 weeks..no conditioner ..my hair like yours, curly, long and prone to tangle...after almost dry I apply a beautiful combo oil I buy from a local distributor...it's beautiful oil...I always braid my hair after washing and detangle later or next day. At night always braid at nite for bed, curly hair must be protected and it's dry, but so healthy now from your videos...add oils as needed through the weeks with bore brushing..my hair is mid back length or longer being older it's still OK to have long pretty hair, as I keep it off my face with barrettes and or soft hair ties in a ponytail and or braid it. TY Katherine for this demonstration of hair washing...the chlorine in our water has always been a problem for me...I can't go in pools either....very dry skin and hair but washing up to 3 weeks helps me stay away from chlorine...and lots of care and oils...maybe you can address that issue...my psoriasis is pretty much gone..on my scalp..dermatologist says keep doing what you're doing...so happy 😊...it's OK for older women to have long hair if they like to and use beautiful oils to keep it healthy...

I have thin hair that is almost shoulder length. Im using rice water shampoo and conditioner. I use honey instead of soap twice a week from head to toe. Have you tried honey? Its great as a facial. Just use warm water then wash with honey. Let set up to 5 minutes. Then wash with warm water. You will smell like honey. I have used coconut oil as a mask and a mix with honey. I suggest you try adding a egg that is beaten with oil and honey. Using a bbq brush brush this on your scalp and from roots to ends. Then let stay 24 hours at least. You can do this several times. Then wash out. Your hair will be hard but it will be very soft afterwards.

I tried this routine for the 1st time and OMG, my hair looks amazing!!! I have curly hair (3b, 3c) and my curls are really defined and shiny for cheap (my normal routine costs 176€ vs 37€ here without counting the cost of tools). Let's see how it goes in the long term, I hope to see growth.
I did pre-poo with coconut oil, detangled with my hands, did 4 braids (even though my hair is way shorter), washed with rhassoul (I let it sit for 3 minutes), rinced with ACV that I let in my hair (I used to rince with ACV a few years ago so my hair is used to it), then I styled it with my denman brush and flaxseed gel (I put some hibiscus in it for the color), let my hair dry first with my diffuseur in cold air then naturally and I finished with broccoli oil (known for being light on the hair and is anti frizz).
I don't know how long it will lasts, I hope it will stay that way for at least 3 days then I will do protective hairstyle. I hope I will remember this comment to do an update for 1st month 3rd month, 6th month and 1st year.

Dear Katherine, thank you. Slowly I am implementing your advice on natural hair products. Before I was confused as to why my hair would be so dry but you have explained that ..process.. of adjustment from conventional to natural. Maybe make a video on this issue? 1 first time, I stopped using natural hair shampoo was because of extreme dryness, and in addition to this, I color my hair. Now I use just natural shampoo, still adjusting and need conditioner, but it is much better. Now I will start to implement more clay washes and give myself some time. God bless you. xxx

Using clay this often really dries out your hair, which you can see with the tangles and the frizz. If your hair is more dry then you don’t need clay every week, clay is super clarifying. Once per month should be enough. In between clay washes try Sidre Powder (also known as Zysyphus) or a conditioning cleanser, like the one from Bounce Curl, there are no nasties in this, it cleanses effectively but is super mild. Also a deep conditioner would be advisable every now and then.

I have been doing it for 5 months now and I am almost ready to give up. I have been looking for some natural hair care routine all my life and when I came across your channel I was very happy. But it should be stated that it is for dry or normal hair. I have straight and oily hair and after following your advice with Rhassoul and and lately Bentonite clay, washing twice, vinegar rinses I have to admit my defeat. I like the feeling my hair is fuller than after regular shampoo but since the sebum is spread all over the length of it, it takes ages to dry. Several hours in my case. The difference is that after using the regular shampoo I have a day of "normalcy", while here as soon as my hair dries I need to use cornstarch. Without it I should stay at home or wear a head covering. Social interaction like dancing or hugging is absolutely impossible because my hair is oily and stinks. I have been using herbs/herbal rinses all my life but it cannot be done with vinegar. The plus is I can feel baby hair growing and I love it so I am really torn.

you are right this routine isn't a one size fits all! It sounds like you would benefit from using a clarifying shampoo. You can still use natural products after clarifying shampoo so you have the benefits of them. But a clogged scalp and grease build up isn't healthy for scalp/hair and clairfying shampoo would help :) a natural brand works.

It’s been a while, but I ordered your recommended hair dryer last year and I love it. I have fine, wavy (and aging, thus prone to breakage) hair. The hair dryer dries my hair quickly without ruining the curls and waves. Having control over the heat setting, as low as room temperature, which, I believe, you primarily use, means no damage. It’s excellent quality and worth every penny. So, thank you for that great recommendation!

Your hair is so pretty!!! And it truly looks perfectly clean too. Whenever people say they don’t use shampoo I feel like their hair rarely ever looks properly clean but yours definitely does :) you should look into Ayurvedic hair care!! Ayurveda has tons of natural remedies for hair growth and grooming. Shikakai is literally a natural plant based surfactant! Makes a killer natural shampoo for when you need something more clarifying than the clay. And herbs like amla and fenugreek make fantastic masks for nourishing and moisturizing the hair!! I make a mask with amla, fenugreek and whole milk and my curls always look amazing right after a mask!! Sometimes I also add honey or beef tallow if I want a bit extra moisture :) I love natural hair care!! I’m gonna have to try the rassoul clay sometime 🫶🏼

Rhassoul clay and ACV used to work for me, but really dried out my hair after I changed my diet because my scalp stopped being as oily. I have tailbone length hair as well, but it’s wavy. I’ve been water only washing for about a month and a half. My hair has so much more volume now, it’s wavier, and not as frizzy, but my hair’s still adjusting because it feels a little gummy and looks kind of greasy. I’ve struggled a lot with my hair and I’ve tried everything. Hopefully the water only washing method will be the answer to my problems.

For the past three weeks I have been working on hair health. Not washing as often (I just washed my hair for the first time in a week), weekly rosemary oil, sleeping in braids, more protective styles, adding scalp massage, and I feel like I am having increased hair fall. I don't know if it's just that I'm paying more attention or what, but I'm starting to worry 😓

    • @saraha5522
      @saraha5522 Рік тому +4

Maybe you are not having more hair fall but rather, since you don't wash your hair as often as before, you only see how much hair falls out when you wash it. If you wash it less often, then more hair that falls out accumulates and shows up when you wash it. For example, if you lose 100 hairs a day like most people do, then if you wash your hair every day you will see 100 hairs fall out every day. But if you don't wash your hair for 7 days, then when you wash it you will see all the 700 strands that fell out during the week, but didn't get washed out over the week.

Putting oils on the scalp isn't so good for the roots of the hair. Oils clogs the pores on your head, from where the hair is growing and causes hair loss. Oil should be applied only on the length of the hair and if the hair is fine, then oil should be light and in a small amount, atherwise it will break the hair.
Plus, vitamin deficiency can cause hair loss, too. Like, lack of iron, D, B12, lack protein in a diet.

The longest I have gone without any hair washing is 9 weeks, but by then my hair had grown a lot & I could wear it in a bun so you couldn’t notice any oily spots.
