- I tried cleaning the audio up a bit and reduce some of the hiss and hum where I could.
Audio and imagery thanks to Lou Barlow -
"this is one of two Neil Young songs we recorded for a Neil tribute album called 'the Bridge'...
We ended up choosing 'Lotta Love' and shitcanning this one...
done at the original Fort Apache studio in Roxbury Mass., South Boston.... late '88, early '89 (???) I'm not sure... I am fairly certain this was my last proper session with the band (not counting Peel Sessions and whatnot)....
we did three other songs that day 'feel a whole lot better' for a Byrds tribute, the aforementioned 'Lotta ♡' and Chunks' a hard core number by a Boston straight-edge band called Last Rites (or 'Rights'??)....
Chunks was the raging set closer for my final Dino-tour.... I screamed my guts out on it every night... the recording became a 'Freak Scene' B-side....
I found the cassette of this stuff while home for the holidays.... it hasn't aged well, not the condition of the tape (sounds whooshy + chewed), not the performance of 'I've been waiting for you'.... it ain't great but it's RARE" - Lou Barlow - loobiecore.com/beenwaitingfory...
Hell yes.
Yes yes
Thank you.
Love this! Lotta Love is better, but this is great too! Love the history Lou gives along with it. Nice to know these were all recorded in the same session!
nailed it.
This is Neil Young's best song , in the studio only. It's a hard song to replicate what happened with Jack N. and Neil Y that day but J gives it a good try.
