Kristen is not a good leader. She doesn't know how to balance personal with professional. That girls feelings were valid, the way she expressed them were unprofessional. Also, she doesn't speak to her team respectfully, so I'm confused as to why she then expects it in return. There is a way to be firm and fair and telling someone you don't give shit, is not it.

Instead of taking her to task over her reaction to the return of a ex employee, ask her why her reaction was so strong. Yes in a work environment that is predominantly female it's going to get bitchy but as the overall manager/owner it's up to you to rein it in and deal with it in a professional manner. Plus given that you have a show that feature's around your business you need to remember that here is where any potential customer's will see before your web page and how you conduct yourself as a potential customer makes me not want to shop at uncommon james.

@Stephanie Ramadhar have you ever heard of fair equal opportunity employment? Where regardless of you're gender you get hired purely based off you're ability to do the job. They don't judge by gender they just see if you're a good fit for the team. Equal opportunity employment should exist for a reason, anyone who crosses a line gets fired and everyone is held to the same standards no favorites no gossip no none of the usual work favoritism, just boils down to who does their job best regardless of race or gender.
