I am so happy to have found a fellow Christian bookworm! I’ve added Faithfully Present to my TBR😊I’d be interested to know what you make of Fourth wing. Have a lovely weekend! 💕
ohh I love meeting other christian bookworms!!! thank you for watching and I'm really enjoying Faithfully Present so I hope you do too🙈 hopefully Fourth Wing will live up to the all the hype haha but I'm excited to read it! have a lovely weekend🥰🌸
I've only read a couple of poems so far but they're absolutely beautiful and I really recommend them!!🥺 Thank you so much for watching my videos - it means so much that you're taking the time to watch them🥹🌸
I’ve been in a very poetic mood recently, writing and reading, and I’ve been trying to expand my list of inspirations because in poetry I’m hopelessly inspired by Sylvia Plath (especially Daddy) so I bought a used copy of John Donne’s complete poems and I’m also reading To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf.
I have a very dear friend who is a huge reader, like myself. When she gets a second hand book she pops it into a plastic freezer bag and leaves it foelr a few days. Any bugs will crawl out into the bag...and you know not to keep the book. I also read an article about how library books are full of bedbugs these days and how many libraries are infested with them. It happened to my friend and it was very unpleasant and expensive. Before I retired I worked in a university library and the place was full of fleas. I love a book from ABE or WOB, but you never really know what you are bringing into your home. Sorry such a doom laden message, just something to think about. Lovely channel by the way. Xx
ohh that's a wonderful tip for handling secondhand books!! I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future as I love purchasing used books, but of course want to avoid bringing in any bugs!🤎 thank you so much for watching🥺🌸
ahya your videos are always so lovely to watch and can i say the starting of your videos are SO beautiful🌷it feels like a spring fairytale 🕊️🌱🌸 loved the book haul btw
😭😭thank you SO much Maya, that's the kindest thing you could possibly say and my heart is filled with so much gratitude to hear that the intro felt like a spring fairytale🥹🌷
I think the most recent physical book I bought was a used copy of Robin McKinley's book called "beauty". It's a clean retelling of beauty and the beast. I've loved it since I was a teenager in the late 80's. I bought the book just shy of my 50th birthday for nostalgic reasons.
Already planning what your next reads will be? Why not make your next read an ebook? With Immersive Translate, you can translate all your ebooks into any language. Are you into manga? There’s also a cool feature, where you can get accurate and detailed translations to the manga you’re currently reading. All of these are within your fingertips once you download the plugin.
Your videos are so calming and wholesome! I've been reading all cozy books and manga this spring. My most recent book haul includes Olivetti by Allie Millington -- all I know is that it's a cute middle-grade from the pov of an antique typewriter; and How to Train Your Human: A Cat's Guide by Babas -- a cute small book translated from Italian.
If you like "a room with a view" i highly recommend "the woman in white" by Wilkie Collins. I have a stunning great writers library copy of it and I'm really enjoying reading it right now. It is also a book on romance and middle-class values in the nineteenth century. It is largely about gender inequality back then and is written in an unusual narrative style where each chapter is narrated by a different "witness".
I found your channel yesterday, Ahya, and I immediately had to subscribe🥰 I really love your aesthetic and your videos are so whimsical and cozy🤍 I can't wait to binge watch all your content ☺️
Miss Newburys List is such a sweet book, read it last summer after watching Darling Desis video. Ive bought so many books this spring i won't be buying anymore gor a while, except a fantasy book I've been waiting for that is now out, the second book after The Book that Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence. Ive just finished reading The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd, about Ana, a fictional wife of Jesus. It was a lovely, very interesting and sometimes devastating read ( women then was so brutally handled by their Fathers and husbands) I think you would enjoy it!
Another enjoyable video after a long week! My latest book purchase was Watership Down and Howl’s Moving Castle from Waterstones. I am banning myself from buying any more physical books as I have no space, only kindle deals or the library until I’ve read more of the books I have!
ohh thank you so much for watching🥹🤎 I've never read Watership Down before, but Howl's Moving Castle was such a fun time🙈 I love that you're reading books from the library/what you already own, and I'm trying to do the same right now to reduce my physical tbr!
Hi from Australia Ahya! I just discovered your channel and I loved it!! Thank for sharing such a lovely book haul, I'm looking forward to Noreen of your videos. I'm about to start my Bookstagram journey so please keep me in your thoughts. ❤
My latest book purchase was Romeo and Juliet and I even bought it when I was in Verona at the beginning of April, which is very fitting☺️ I haven't read any of Shakespeare's work yet so I'm excited to start with this classic 🥰
oh my goodness, how amazing that you managed to buy a copy when you were in Verona!! I have a copy of the play as well, although haven't gotten round to reading it properly... but maybe I'll manage to read it this summer hehe🙈🤎
Thank you for your wonderful wholesome book recommendations. I've started 2 books you suggested. An Easy Life in Kamusuri and Miss Newbury's list! I am savoring and enjoying both! I appreciate your stand for Jesus! It is wonderfully refreshing!
ohhh thank you so much for watching and enjoying the videos🥺 it means so much to me🤎 and I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying both books!! I was so excited to have come across both books this year and I love knowing that more people are reading them🥰
what a lovely video ahya 🤍 i really want to read a room with a view it sounds like such an amazing story ! i'm so very intrigued by the baron in the trees, i might end up getting it 👀 i'm really scared to get to fourth wing i hope i'll enjoy it 🙈 i loved your haul and it was sooooo cozy to watch 🥹✨🤍
I’ve just finished Jane Eyre! Loved it. I’m now reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I’m going to be reading three of her novels. ❤ your videos are just a breath of fresh air. Thankyou for being you Ahya ❤❤
Calvino is one of my favourite authors, Invisible Cities is my favourite of his books. My latest book purchase was Swordheart by T. Kingfisher, it's fantasy romance, but unlike often the characters are a bit older (I think the main character is in her 30s), also not much spice (I don't care about that). I first got if from the library, but loved it so much that I wanted to have my own copy. Thank you for your videos, they have a very gentle and calming atmosphere and I really enjoy them ☺️
that's so exciting to hear that Calvino is one of your favourite authors!! I can't wait to dive into his work and hopefully read his other books too😍 ALSO, Swordheart is my favourite T. Kingfisher novel! It makes me so happy to hear that you loved it too because it was one of my favourite romantasy reads of last year🥹🤎
Don't worry Ahya, I haven't read Fourth wing yet but I want to this month. I have Room with a view and Secret garden on my TBR as well. Thank you for amazing video.
I love your heart for Jesus! As a fellow Christian woman, I love to see your book recs and hear you talk about Jesus! Your videos are such a comfort ❤️
I’m definitely ordering A Room with a View. I haven’t read it before and it sounds like a perfect Springtime read🌸 I’ll also be reading the Secret Garden as well. I read it many years ago and honestly don’t remember much of the story. I purchased it a few months ago and look forward to reading it soon. Thank you, as always, for your recommendations😊
ohhh I'd love to hear your thoughts on A Room with a View when you get round to reading it!!🥰 it's so exciting that you'll be reading The Secret Garden as well hehe I'm hoping to pick it up very soon and hopefully we'll both enjoy it a lot🙈🌷
I just ordered A Room with a View from WOB so I’ll definitely let you know how I like it😊 I hope you enjoy Secret Garden. As I I mentioned, it’s been many years since I’ve read it, but I do remember thoroughly enjoying it. I’m really looking forward to rereading it. Happy Reading❤️
I tried reading The Secret Garden a few times but I just couldn't get past the racism which I get because the book is written long ago but it still bugged me. But I'll look forward to your thoughts on it!! Also I as an avid reader of historical fiction I am really excited to read Miss Newbury's List. So thank you for the recommendation🎉🎉
ohh I always find that so difficult about reading classics, so I completely understand why it would affect your enjoyment of the book!! It's definitely something I'll have to keep in mind as I read it too. I really hope you enjoy Miss Newbury's List though!!🥺🤎
I also couldn't read The Secret Garden beyond a few pages, I was afraid the racism would get harder because I'm from South Asia myself and I didn't want an ugly memory of this book. I recommend the graphic novel adaption instead. The art is lovely, the story is heartwarming, and the artists left out the India parts of the story because in their words "they don't do justice to the history of British oppression in colonial India."
4:15 Hahahhahah I’m sorry Ahya but I laughed so hard at your troubles with finding A Room With A View 😂, it makes such a funny story. And bugs inside of it, poor you 😂. I can totally imagine the frustration!!
it's honestly been such a process🤣🤣🤣 it's like the book doesn't want to have a place on my bookshelves🥲 hopefully this other copy that I've ordered is actually what I want hahaha
I recommend looking up the page numbers of the spicy scenes in Fourth Wing before reading 100% ! I don’t mind spice in my books and the first book isn’t so bad (although it has a lot of sexual undertones in it), but the second book is quite heavy with it ! The story line isn’t too bad though so I’m wondering how you’ll find it 😯 Would you be interested in doing a review ? Loved relaxing with you ❤️❤️
oooh that's a really good idea!! I'll definitely try and look into the page numbers, thank you for suggesting it🥰 I'd definitely be interested in filming a review or vlogging reading the book and am really looking forward to reading it! thank you so much for watching🥺🤎
ohhh I adore By Ash, Oak and Thorn! I managed to read it in March and absolutely fell in love with the story - it's such a precious book! I can't wait to read the second book in autumn😭🤎
Ahya, I am so happy you mentioned you are a christian. I am too. I don't like "spice" or smut in my books either. TWICE I threw out brand new bks. because of that. One the first page had a very NASTY word 5 times!!!! How fun you got to go to Rome with your family! I would really like to read A fantasy book or series that is CLEAN. Do you know of any? Most, or all the ones out now are immoral and demonic. I truly enjoy your channel, thank you!
You could read The Faes Bride, its a sweet romantic book with a touch of fantasy and no spice. Its quite similar to Encanto actually. They even have a house elf called Bruno 😅😅 downside its very short and the sisters are a bit annoying sometimes, also confusing because they are do msny of them 😅
I always look forward to when you uploaded a new video😊. It instantly lightens my day. 🤍 I would love to read: A Fellowship of Baker's Magic I'm in need of some fluff 😆.

Can I just say bin that copy you got on vinted. My sis ended up with an infestation of bed bugs from a book that was exactly like that!
I still need to read The Secret Garden too. Love your copy 😍
Thanks to you I read Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong bookshop. I fell in love with it so hard, I now make everyone I know read it
