It's hard for us today to imagine a time when there was no such thing as (video), only paintings, and drawings, just a few short lifetimes ago. Then primitive black and white and sepia, then silver nitrate film, then multiple pictures made a moving film, then they figured out how to stain film to make cartoons, then color. The wax cylinder recorder, led to magnetic recording, then digital, and who knows where things will go next. Lightning speed changes for any species. Aint evolution amazing?
Lançamento nos EUA: 19 de novembro de 1943. Produção: Dave Fleischer. Direção: Bob Wickersham. Roteiro: Dun Roman. Animação: Basil Davidovich e Ben Lloyd. Layout: Clark Watson.
Really. It's only recently I've discovered the Columbia Color Rhapsodies and I'm really impressed with the quality. In the early days of sound cartoons, Columbia wasn't in the same league with Warners or Disney, though it did have a chance to distribute the Disneys, but studio chief Harry Cohn didn't get along with Walt Disney, who took his show to RKO. Years later, Columbia started distributing the UPA cartoons and won a ton of Oscars. Again, though, these Color Rhapsodies are impressive.

Try to imagine those animated violet moving or doing the caramelldansen. Oh wait, we got to dissolve them to make them live? Try to imagine those teacups have the same stout as the kettle? Try to imagine your dolls as Raggedy Ann and Andy without Fleischer suing us. Oh who we're kidding, he's producing this cartoon, so it's just funny connection. Speaking of connection, it's how Richard William's Raggedy Andy used Not Andy's voice. Try to imagine someone saying this is the first crossdressing, even though Looney Tunes, Popeye, and Laura and Hardy did it earlier. Try to imagine a better climax in a clock, just give it 43 years with Vincent Price.
This girl has dirty imagination if imagine things about suggestive flirting, and love drama about transfusion, seriously 😒 how old is this girl to have all that imagination that surpass her age ، i know it's a very old yet forgotten cartoon that only saw it now by searching one you tube ( classic cartoons ) to stumble on this cartoon
Considering the dolls were dancing by themselves in the end, maybe the short started as just her imagining things but then fell asleep and the toys went and did their own dirty thing. The dolls even look like they're in better condition by the end.
I miss the time I used to play with dolls😍💙
You should get yourself some dolls then, who's stopping you? I play with dolls myself and I'm old lol!
The Character Design of the two main dolls are adorable, Total Win for Columbia.
9/10.
This Picture Totally deserves that Academy Award Nomination.
SUPERCRAFTKS - "Yankee Doodle Mouse" won the Oscar for best short. I still to this day refer to eggs as "hen grenades."
Very nice cartoon, seriously ! I watch a lot of the older cartoon's though (I'm old). Thank you for posting !!

First cartoon to address transvestite prostitution.
There was no money involved. it was a simple case of child abduction and attempted rape
Wow pretty dark subject her being in the car with the older cad. Hey you want to be in pictures I can get you in
The Doctor Sounds Like Robert C. Bruce.
I wondering if the little girl is going to fixing her doll to be good new 💞.

This cartoon was for adults and kids. Not the other way around.
