The inside of a stella is pretty impressive. Twin powers are really nice too I have one on my nrx

Yes, you can definitely see why the Stella has so much torque. I also have a Twin Power on an NRX. Thanks for watching!

I have the Sustain on that rod. I have a few legend Extremes. It's hard to call which is better. I use a Calcutta on one of those. Some legit fine quality products

Ive been watching your rod videos lately and enjoy them!
I wish you would have done a side by side comparison with that glx you got rid of . Im surprised that there is not much nrx vs glx . Seems like everyone is pushing the nrx .
I only have 2 nrx+ rods but 13 glx rods . Most in sjr (i love those blanks)
Those nrx blanks and real seats are amazing but the glx are just as good in my opinion and has that classic classy look over the nrx..
Im not bashing the nrx at all . I love the 2 i own . I just think im more satisfied with the glx over the nrx ( especially with the price point )

I'm not really pushing the NRX but they are updated as the GLX is still the same from 2016. The GLX 852S weighs 4.1oz compared to the 3.34oz of the NRX+ 852S. I've owned my GLX since 2020 and loved it and there's nothing wrong with it. However, I got my GLX for $580 in 2020 and paid $830 for a completely redesigned NRX+ in August 2022. The GLX is around $700 plus tax here in Canada right now for the same rod from 2016 and suspect a price increase once they are updated. My GLX wasn't as balanced as the NRX+ and felt more tip heavy. The thing I preferred about the GLX is that it's slightly softer than the NRX+. But as I stated in the video, you can get an 852S JWR in a GLX and IMX-PRO as well. I also owned a GLX 822S SYR and upgraded it to an NRX+. It all depends what you want and whats in your budget. I appreciate you watching! I also have a one year review video of my GLX linked here.

Hi, I am from Australia and I am really considering this rod. I was wondering if you can help me out on the style of fishing I plan to do.
I am a land based fisherman and I want to use jigheads with 4" soft plastics jerking and twitching actions primarily using 1/8, 1/6, and sometimes1/4 jig heads. Would this style suit this rod?
Do you also think the 872S JWR would also suit those jighead weights?
    Cheers 👍🏼

I love this rod along with the 872S. Isn't the Stella a bit on the heavy side of a reel. I got a Vanquish FC on the 852S and i think its a great combo.
What do you know about the NRX+ Inshore MAG 921S-922S - 923S are these new lengths ??

Vanquish is a fantastic reel. I have 2 of them which are the 2019 generation. I have the C3000XG that I had for 3 years and a 4000XG that I had for a year and use it for salmon. The difference between the Vanquish and Stella FK is the Stella is 100% metal versus the mix of magnesium and Ci4 graphite used in the Vanquish (Vanquish is on the magnumlite series of reels). I feel that the Stella has more torque and is more robust than the Vanquish. 7.4oz for the Stella means nothing to me if the combo is well balanced, the Stella has an extremely low start up inertia as it showed in the video when the reel started spinning just by moving the rod. Its all a matter of personal preference and how it balances on the rod. I prefer the Vanquish or Exsence on super finesse applications like ned rig and dropshot. In terms of availability, The Stella and Twin Power is readily available here in Canada, while the Vanquish has to be ordered from Japan and a lot of people aren't comfortable doing that. As for the inshore NRX+ I can't give an opinion about them as I never used them and they're not sold in any stores I shop at locally. Thanks for watching!

Hi John. Just like to know how is the 852s casting weightless senko? I have the nrx 872s and love it but I was looking at getting the nrx 852c and I know it’s the same blank as the 852s.

    • @shorefishingontario
      @shorefishingontario  4 місяці тому +1

The 852S is the perfect weightless senko rod imo. I had it for the GLX and used it just for that. If I wasn't a shore angler, I'd use my 852S NRX+ for it. I have an 853C NRX+ that I use for weightless Texas rigged senkos and just overall Texas/Tokyo and heavier free rig rod. I would sell it for an 802C because of the length tho. You can't go wrong with the 852C especially if you're going weightless with normal gauge hooks and if you are fishing from a boat or kayak.👍👍

@@shorefishingontario I got to check it out. Going to fishing world and check out 893c and if I don’t like that rod I’m getting 852c from Gagnon sports. Thanks for the reply buddy 👍
