- Here’s an idea for the blues that is so useful in many ways. It’s more of a riff than a lick. It’s a classic slow blues move for sure!

I've only switched onto these videos in the past week and I've watched them every day. As an amateur player of many years the snippets of information, advice and insight are gold dust! I certainly appreciate that the videos are not lessons or instructional but if it springs to mind one day, I would love to hear your take on right hand techniques, flat picking etc. Keep up the good work GT!

Cool lick. To my ears it sounds like it's spun off of the '50s rock 'n' roll boogie-woogie riff (see "Big Bopper's Wedding" by The Big Bopper). I like to use a variation of that riff for rhumbas.

Can you do a short lesson on what a arpeggio is and how you are getting it from the shapes. I always get the shape and notes in the triad but then you start playing notes on the strings that you call arpeggio and I've never seen you explain it. Thanks Guthrie!
